a getaway location near Bacolod?

Hello, my wife and I have been to Costa Aguada and liked it. But want to try something different. Any similiar places around Bacolod or even Negros?

Try Lakawon island; 45 min by pumpboat from Cadiz (1 hour north of Bacolod). More primitive than Costa Aguada but the beach is nicer plus there is a sense of privacy. Its a smaller island and if you go on a weekday you might even have the whole island by yourself!
Also try Punta Bulata in Cauayan, 3 hours by land from Bacolod(south). Amenities are better than Lakawon. Takatuka in Sipalay (3 and a half hours south of Bacolod) also nice.

Sipalay.. 5hrs bus ride.. Takatuka beach resort or Langub... U can search the web u'll find what u need reservation etc. ♥
1st timer in BACOLOD

hi, i will be in bacolod march 20,2009 - march 22,2009.
1.) rent a car - price & requirements
2.) accomodations --- budget of P1,000 - P1,500 / day, city proper
3.) point of interests--- local delicacies,local street life.etc
4.) VT member meetup ! new place..new friends :)
any help will be grately appreciated ! thanks !

Diplomat Hotel is fine and walking distance from everywhere.
If you hire a car, Silay is worth a visit. (I did it with a taxi but be aware there are no taxis in Silay so keep yours waiting or catch the bus back as I did.

wow! thank you for mentionong silay. i checkd on it and there were many ancestral house there recognized by the National Historic Institute.it will surely be on my itenerary.

Hi, I hope I am not too late to share my reviews. I was hailed from this city, so basically I know some pros and a just little cons. Okay, let's go over your queries first; 1.) rent a car- roughly 1K/day, from Nyala Tours contact numbers 09189158073 or 0344331049. .) Accomodations: Sugarland Hotel, Grand Regal, Bacolod Kundutel or Palmas del Mar. 3.) Points of Interest- Capitol Lagoon, San Sebastian Cathedral, Mambukal Mountain Resort, Guintubdan waterfalls, Buenos Aires, Goldefield Commercial Complex, MO2, Aboy's Kamalig Resto, Panaad sa Negros sports complex, The Ruins, Spa by the Sea, Manokan Country, Bong-bongs Piaya factory, Costa Aguada-Guimaras Island, Punta Bulata, Sipalay Mines and beaches, Lakawon Island (mini-Boracay). This are just few of what is install in Bacolod and the coast of Negros Island. Fond of trekking and mountain climbing, travel as far as Canlaon City and trek your way up to Mt. Kanlaon. So easy to get around the city. Just a map (get one at the tourism office) and an itineray. Locals will help you around. No need for rent a car as every corner there's a passenger jeepney.
