I scanned the official brochure from Bacolod City's tourism office that contains the Accommodations around the City. Hope it will be of help if you're looking for a place to stay.
I will write reviews of some Hotels/Inns in the other tips.
Hotel room is clean, from standard we upgraded to Executive De Luxe for a few bucks because I want the veranda, fridge and hair dryer. I was disappointed that the hair dryer is not included in the executive de luxe as per Housekeeping. Very good service, she lets me borrow for overnight.
Buffet breakfast is also included, food is good. All staff are very nice and accommodating.
Value for money, location is good. It's a few kilometers from downtown. But for me it's okay because it's near Goldfields where you can hangout when bored unlike the noise of nearby malls and busy downtown
We stayed at Bacolod Business Inn which was recommended by my cousin-in-law. It is a convenient place to stay in: walking distance to the Cathedral and Plaza; jeepney route to the Capitol Park, Association of Negros Producers Showroom and venue for Electric Masskara; many taxis waiting infront of inn; 24-hour room service. Aside from these, they have nice, accommodating, friendly and efficient staff. Rooms are clean and rates are reasonable. We got a Jr. Executive Room with a view of the Atrium Garden. Their 24-hour restaurant, Cafe Biz has an area for non-smokers, and ample supply of newspapers for guests.
My family always enjoys its weekends or special occasions in Palmas. The small kids love the island pool, the older children enjoy the lapping pool and the giant slide. We've stayed in adjoining rooms in the Iberian Suites (each Junior suite is good for 3), also in the Lagoon Suite (good for 4 but can accommodate extra beds), the Poolside Suites (good for four), and the 2 bedroom Cabanas. Each room has a balcony or veranda for enjoying the view and the fresh sea air. The staff are friendly and ready to help but sometimes you have to ask them for things you need (ex. beddings for the third person in the junior suite). Better to inform the front desk that you'll need the sofa bed to be made for a third person, otherwise, the room will be readied for only two guests.
The Iberian Suites and Mediterranean Suites are the most recent and the most beautifully designed additions. The Mediterranean Suites face a private pool area that's lit by torches at night. The resort is incredibly peaceful in the early morning and nothing in more relaxing than a steaming cup of coffee in one of the resort's verandas. Other Bacolod hotels may have cheaper rooms but Palmas gives you a room plus breathtaking sunsets, 5 swimming pools, a jogging path, and all the amenities of a 5 acre resort by the sea.
One thing my family and I like about Palmas is hotel guests can invite a certain number of visitors to enjoy the resort amenities for free during the day.
This is a newly opened inn/ guesthouse. Its very charming with a courtyard in the middle equipped with comfy sofas and a skylight. It is not the cheapest nor the grandest - but it is the most charming place I have ever seen. The beds are comfy and the blankets are real blankets. There is a full length mirror and dryers in all rooms.
They have a small cafe which serves good mediterranean food. I like the Keema Rice and the Seafood skewers.
What a nice stay! This facilities here are basic, just a room, a bathroom and a bed. But the surroundings are amazing. Just a few steps outside your door and you have a number of pools, hot sulphur springs, multiple gorgeous waterfalls, amazing flying foxes, and an active volcano. The most amazing fact of all, it's less than $20 US per night.
Hot sulphur springs where you can dip (very relaxing and good for the skin) Amazing sightings of huge flying foxes, and a hike up to 7 falls, very nice waterfalls than wind through native villages.
Pension Bacolod is okay. Price is cheap for only P905 good for 5 pax. The cable TV is not clear so better choose the P790 room without the tv. The first night the room we stayed in is dusty & dirty so we requested for another room for the succeeding nights. The 2nd room was cleaner but we were dismayed to find a cockroach inside. The only good thing is that the room is big. Am not satisfied with the toilet though coz it's small & dirty. The water pressure is not satisfactory so I used the pail & tabo instead of the shower.
I like the location coz it's away from the city center which is chaotic but is still near some of the spots like the Provincial Capitol & Lagoon, Negros Museum, NFEFI & ANP Negros Showroom to name a few. It's on the 11th Street.
Nice location away from chaos but near the attractions.
My work requires me to visit Bacolod at least 2x/yr & this is my favorite hotel in the city. Service is good & ideally located right in the city proper with Calea Bakeshop right beside it. Rooms are newly refurbished & live piano music is played at the lobby every night.
Ideal for business travel.
located down 16th street is a great little place to stay despite the rooms being a bit small. Ignore the tricycle drivers at the top who tell you its a long way because its only about 200m off the main Lacson street on the left hand side.
I cant say enough good things about this hotel. very courteous staff, always say hello, food is very good, rooms are nice size and clean. i have stayed here twice now and loved it each time. its a little away from the downtown area. gaisano city mall is a mile or two up the road. the hotel has car rental on site. food prices are reasonable and they serve food and drinks next to the pool all day and most of the evening. there is always people here for socialization and fun. its a professional crowd and the conversations are good and cheerful.
stayed one night. We reserved a Matrimonial suite but was instead given a double. The staff made the change to the correct room. electricity went out several times during the night with no generator backup. The A/C was not that good to begin with, but the electricity failures didnt help keep the room any cooler. the staff wasnt very courteous. my wife and i never was told "good morning" or "is everything ok".
when we checked out earlier than we planned. we were not even asked if our stay was ok. it seemed that they had my money and thats all that was wanted.
I will not stay here again.
Brand new hotel with promotional rates as of June 2009. Clean, modern, comfortable. Meets almost every need of western travelers. Located on Lacson St. near Robinson's. We were amazed at how nice and inexpensive this was.
Planta Centro Bacolod Hotel & Residences is the newest hotel in the City of Smiles!Just opened 2 months ago, very accesible to any kind of transpo as it is located along Araneta Street near Gaisano City Mall, ,newly-furnished rooms and with its warm and accommodating staff. The hotel also provides shuttle service going to the new Bacolod-Silay Airport.
What's this? A hotel that's the shape of a mini strip mall with giant circular windows? Welcome to the Circle Inn! One of Bacolod's newest and promoted hotels! (As of Feb 2008) Believe it or not, the biased ads and clichés of this hotel are amazingly, really quite true! With ambient hallways, a relaxing posh foyer and even a swimming pool and more, it's not a bad option at all to make this even your home for a month!

Well, for the price you pay, the hotel really comes with nice rooms! The 1000 peso discount room I've visited had a big single bed that just like the Amrei Hotel, ONLY fits 2 (unless you have a midget size person that can squeeze in the middle) except that when the Amrei feels more homey, this feels rather, more posh. I mean, the decors, the design of the room, the orange lights, you can imagine lying down in the bed, watching TV and even feeling more stylish!
The staff as of the morning of Feb 2, 2008 were amazing: They were dressed in sexy black uniforms, had photogenic make-ups, and even though most of them still reported early to work and were about to end their morning shift, they still maintained their smiles and humor that made them 3x more beautiful! Even the guard was courteous. I hope they keep it up!

This will probably be the biggest drawback for the Circle Inn. Although the hotel was smart to make rooms for retail stores, (Adding points to the location) it's still not enough to compensate: If you have a car, no problem! The parking lot here is so big like nearly like a drive-in! But what if you don't have a car? You'll have to rely on public transportation and this can be a problem here! By foot, it's at least 30 minutes (Fast pace already!) to the Lagoon and Mc. Donalds and even Jolibee in La Salle Avenue! And with no trees or anything to cover you against the rain or the sun, this could be a problem! The good part is, that at least it's not hidden inside an alley; At least it hugs the avenue so if you want to get around by jeepney, it's so fast and easy to hail one for here. But if you're destination is just the bus station, the location then is a 10 because it's only 8 minutes by foot (fast pace) to the Ceres Bus Liner station.
It's the only hotel here I've seen that used giant circles as the windows!
Double Room with aircon and bathroom- 1000 pesos
With no discount
Like a modern jewel in the middle of 13th street, the Modern Royal Amrei Hotel never fails to catch my attention. Although it's a bit more worn out (Some of the windows could use a little cleaning, and the snack bar needs more snacks! (There were only 4 candy bars in it!) , and eerily quiet (It was empty when I visited it on Feb 2, 2008, morning. Probably the visitors were all out enjoying their break!) since my last visit to this hotel 6 years ago, it's still clean, simple (thus homey) and very nice.
HOTEL ROOMS: 7
Well, the twin room I visited (See photos for more info) for about a 1000 pesos was okay. I mean, they were still cleaning the room when I visited it but the beds look okay, the bathroom looked comfortable to have a bombs away and it had a tv, an aircon but the only thing is- it's not that big; It's really ONLY made for JUST 2 people and that's it. (Unless the 3rd person is a midget) I mean, if a mother and an obese 220 lbs. son tries to fit in one of the beds here, the bed will probably fall apart!
The receptionist in the morning of Feb 2 was really nice and even game! You can even bombard him questions about ghosts, haunted hotels, ask if the hotel is haunted and he was very accommodating. I really hope he keeps it up! That's why I gave it a 10.
LOCATION: 10 (See photos for a picture)
The location is pretty good: Just as good as the L'Fisher Hotel however you have to walk just only a bit. It's just a 2 minute walk (if you walk fast) and only 4 minute walk (if you walk slow and chit-chatting) to Mayfair plaza, Piazza Sorrento, (Home to Bo's Cafe and that famous Thai Restaurant Kuai Thai) L'Fisher Hotel and even the main road of Bacolod, Lacson street where you can easily catch a jeepney to Robinsons (Just one ride), Mc. Donalds and so on and it even gets better! it sits in a quiet street that's lighted so it seems safe to come here at night.
The design itself is unique for Bacolod! Until now, I still find it one of the most simple yet homey designs for a hotel here in Bacolod. And the lobby is worth looking at too! It's quite photogenic!
Single room (Bath and aircon)- 950 Pesos
double- 1000 pesos
Deluxe Room (Nicer Rooms) 1450 pesos.
