Camp John Hay Manor Hotel
Loakan Road, Baguio, Luzon, 2600, Philippines
A wonderful place to stay, great views, peaceful, has driving range, golf course, hiking trails... the rooms are comfortable and clean... try to stay on upper floors as you get more breeze into hotel room... food at hotel restaurant is delicious, servers are properly trained, pleasant and attentive... they have a good bar with bartenders who know how to make drinks..
The front desk people are quite stuffy, they hardly smile which is a shame since they are the first people that you see.
But all in all a great experience.
Unique Quality: starbucks on premises and also the waffle house for good and cheap breakfast
Baguio's best Hotel
I had a 5 week stay at Camp John Hay Manor. The accomadations were really good. The room was a suite, so there was more than enough room with a nice patio and 2 bathrooms. Everything was great, from the staff, to the restaurant and bar, to the Golf Course. I was in Baguio to work, but I must say, that I have had worse vacations, haha!
I recommend Camp John Hay Manor and also the Baguio Country Club, which I stayed at for 3 weeks back in 1997. Gusto kung Philippinas!
Unique Quality: The restaurant had a great buffet in the morning, outside! and the area behind the hotel was nice for a morning walk with beautiiful views of the valley below. Golf Course was challenging. During 5 weeks in Baguio, I did so many things, from going to the beach, to the wood carving village, dining, night clubing, golf, it was great. Truely the expierience of a life time. I would go back again in a minute, if I had the chance !!!!
Christmas at the Manor
We stayed at The Manor 2 weeks before Christmas and you can already feel the spirit of the season. The decors are well-crafted. Even the garden has a Christmas-theme and adorned with 2 live/giant Christmas trees. The rooms are very spacious (a room for two could accomodate 4 and still have enough space to dance), the beddings crisp and fresh, the hot water works (yes!), toiletries are unlimited (you can ask for extra supplies) as well as the coffee. Oh, and they offer free welcome drinks and spa/massage. And a basket of goodies when you check out. I don't know if that's year-round or just during the holidays.
The staff are friendly but not much to really make me remember it. I noticed that bellhops were friendlier to their regular clients (they know their names). Hmmm, discrimination? Or they just know that these clients TIP big? That's ok, I don't need the extra attention.
Still, i highly recommend The Manor, though it's a bit pricey. Hey, watch out for their promos. We got our room at 50% off.
Unique Quality: The beds are really comfortable. The place is peaceful. And clean. We haven't tried the food so I couldn't tell you about that.
Great view! The rear garden/park is good to while away the time. Take pictures. Play games. Have fun with the kids.
Beautiful Gardens and Rooms/Suites
If you want to go stay at a classy place in Baguio, then The Manor is where you should stay. It may not have high ceilings or elaborate chandeliers, but it is classy enough.
Dining, golf, shopping, live lounge music, et cetera, can be enjoyed there. There are also tons of guest activities and the concierge will be happy to serve you if you need anything in particular.
The place is clean and there are hotel shuttles to bring you to places in Baguio. It may be a little more expensive than a taxi, but... :)

Baguio's Best Accommodation
The hotel is located inside Camp John Hay. The theme of the hotel is country. The hotel lobby gives you a feeling of being inside this huge log cabin. The people are very helpful and are always ready with a smile.
Best time to go is June to Sept if you would like to enjoy the really cool weather (Filipino standards---15-21C), fog, best bargain price of 50% off---inquire about this. We paid just about US$40 per night/room, breakfast not included.
Although their buffet breakfast is not so spectacular, the price per perrson is not so bad at US$6-7 per person.
On weekends they have performances at the hotel lounge, free of cover charge.
There are coffee shops and restaurants within the vicinity. Just across the hotel is Mile High Centre where you can also do a little bit of shopping.
They also have golf and spa packages.
Unique Quality: They won the award for energy efficiency. I guess it is because they do not have airconditioning system in the hotel (you will not need it anyway as the weather is really cold specially during rainy season).
My husband and I enjoyed their breakfast because of the ambiance. You will have your breakfast facing the landscaped garden and the mountains.
Best place to stay
i like it here....the bed's nice........ i like their buffet breakfast........ i like the view....
Unique Quality: golf course
Stay And Play At Camp John Hay
Stay at Camp John Hay. This American-camp-turned-resort is latest among the developments in Baguio.
You can stay in a hotel, a lodge, or buy yourself a condo unit.
Unique Quality: A golf course. A hiking trail. A convention center.
Where I'll stay next time I go to Baguio
I didn't get to stay here, but I did stop by twice, once for cocktails and a couple days later for brunch. The interior is beautiful with its large fir logs and tall ceiling. I was tempted to leave my hotel and move to this one. It was so much nicer than anything else you'll find in Baguio.
Unique Quality: Interior architecture is very nicely done. The hotel opens in the rear to a nice garden. Walk accross the garden to the gazebo opposite the hotel and you get nice vantage of a valley below.
For golfers, I'm not one so I can't comment, there's a Jack Nicklaus designed course owned by the same company that runs the hotel.
Directions: It's in Camp John Hay. Your cabbie will know where it is.

Baguio's 2nd Best Hotel
We stay with 2 bedroom suite which was quite spacious and comfortable suite, kitchenette with a microwave oven, coffee making facilities and a dining table, with a friendly and attentive staff, a top-notch and delectable restaurant and delicatessen, a pampering and delightful health club, picturesque mountain views and a marvelously dramatic colonial ambience all make for a wonderful vacation with my family. The Manor is not a 5 star hotel, but is easily one of the best in Baguio. Its secluded location, rustic log-cabin design, good food and peaceful surroundings make it a good choice for those who don't want to encounter the crowded and over commercialized side of Baguio City, yet still have some access to dining, shopping and other conveniences.
at the Inn
we arrived at baguio at around 3 am..boy..it was cold...truly different from the smog-laden manila..we were met by several manongs who gave us several options to where to stay..they even have an album of several hotels in town with pictures and prices of the accomodations..tehy have the cheapest transient houses which costs as low as 250-300 per person to severl first class hotels..though a good hotel was situated just beside the victory liner bus station..we were brought to a nearby charles' inn..we first took a peep at the inn's interiors, we found it comfortable and affordable so we decided to stay there... its advantage is that its very close to the bus station and just a 10 minute walk to sm baguio..very convenient for us..but if you have a bigger budget, other choices includes microtel inn, el cielito inn, concorde hotel, camp john hay manor hotel and there a lote of transient houses..just ask the friendly locals..
