Safari Lodge

This hotel is well advertised in a number of hotel booking sites around the world.
Our 2 nights stay here in February was ok, but not entirely satisfactory, because despite the cold weather of this mountain City, the hotel does not provide thick blanket but just merely a thin sheet causing us to almost have hypothermia as we snuggle into the thin sheet in under 12 Celsius temperature during the night. The room has an air con but the heater was not working. The shower has warm water coming out, but the pressure was not good enough.

There's no complimentary coffee sachet or tea or bottled water neither sugar in the room, you have to go to the meal room and order your coffee and cappuccino for a few pesos.

Also the rooster kept on cocka-doodle-doodling as early as 1am and that kept us awake. Also you can hear foot steps when someone is walking on the hotel room passageway and when someone is opening or locking a door.

The beds are very uncomfortable - soft and sloppy and with squeaky noise every time you move. The rooms are very old and does not have a good presentation and definitely need some improvement. The shower room and toilets are also old and may need spring cleaning, and there were some dead cockroaches in our room when we checked in. The staff need to clean the rooms properly.

Why are we tipping this hotel ? So that visitors will be aware of our experience as mentioned. The only plus here is the reception hall which has good displays of wooden art works, numerous animal displays, some trophy heads hanging on the walls ( reason why it is called Safari lodge) and the front garden yard is beautiful. The hotel is a short 20 minutes walk to the City. It is a nice peaceful location, in a bustling city.

However the hotel is cheap and if you're only staying for a day or two and you're on a budget then this hotel will suit you.

Unique Quality: Animal heads on display nailed to the walls , beautiful garden, fine wood works on display at the entrance reception hall.

Directions: Take a cab anywhere the downtown area. It will take about 5-10 minutes to get to Safari Lodge. Second and cheaper option is to take a jeepney bound for Mines View Park.
