Affordable Hotels

by judylyncabal

I and my friend is planning to go to baguio on the 27th to 29th of this month since it is holiday. We already browse different hotels but mostly of them do not post their rates. In lieu of this, can you suggest us hotels and their contact numbers which their rate per night is not more than Php 1,500.00 with bathroom and AC.
Thank you very much for your prompt reply.

I may be wrong but, most hotels/inns that will fall within the budget you gave have no air con. Anyway, with the cool weather in November, there's not much need for it.

Try Villa Concorde, Hotel 45.

Dangwa Bus Station

by myspices

Dangwa bus station is located near the City Market along the Magsaysay Avenue. The road leading to the station is slightly upslope. At this station, you can also see lots of intercity jeepneys. There are a couple of eateries inside the station.

Mt Pulag Hike

by jpbonaobra

mountain climbing, camaraderie, hiking ,photography Mt. Pulag is considered the 2nd highest mountain in the Philippines, next to Mt. Apo of Mindanao with only a few meters difference. It is considered as one of the most beautiful National Parks in the Cordillera Area. Mt. Pulag is typically different from the rainforest mountains in the Philippines because of its open area (no trees mountain). It also has its distinct characteristics of changing color on different occasions and season. During the dry season, Mt. Pulag is brown similar to the chocolate Hills of Bohol. During the Rainy Monsoon season, it will vary from light green to rich dark green rolling plains, almost similar to a well maintained golf course. Local People believed that is was, and is a play ground of the gods.

The back of Magsaysay stores

by joiwatani

The best bargains you can get especially on souvenir items are located at the back of Magsaysay Avenue- not at Session Road. Avoid buying whimsically. Just wait until you get to the back of Magsaysay Avenue.

There are little pathways on the side of Maharlika building and from there you take a right that will lead you to rows and rows of stores selling bags, t-shirts, wood carvings, purses, etc. These are cheaper than those found at the stores at Mines View Park or in front of Magsaysay Avenue.

Make sure to bargain. It is always best to start fifty percent off the price and start haggling from there.

Make sure to go from one store to another and ask the item you wanted before you settle to one. This way, you can check the best price!

Buses to Baguio

by JaneCajuguiran

Probably the best way to get to Baguio City is via the trusty Bus. Bus drivers can really drive up to the mountain city with their eyes closed despite the zigzags and all other obstacles. You can check out either Victory liner or Philippine Rabbit. We always take Victory liner from Pasay or Cubao. The Pasay Station is just below the 1st quarter stretch of the flyover along EDSA.

Fare is around 300 pesos per person for an aircondition bus. The travel time ranges anywhere from 5 to 7 hours depending on the traffic. We usually like leaving around 12 midnight so we'd just have enough time to sleep and be on our feet when we get to baguio. The bus stops at least twice during the trip to let the passengers go to the john. There are meals served at the stops so grab some.

When you get to baguio, take a cab and tell him where you're suppose to go. Or if you have not booked yet, ask him to bring you to the nearest inn.
