Taxis
Take care when choosing a taxi - very often meters don't work, but you may only know this when you're inside!
Be prepared to haggle - it does work.
Be extremely cautious at night if travelling alone (obvious, but worth mentioning)

For about 20 minutes, sit still in the art room of Tam-awan Village and let artists (there were 5 when we had our own) do a portrait of yours which are basically pencil sketches. To add some fun, a caricature could be requested from one of the artists for a twist.
There is no specific fee for the portraits but only a donation to the foundation operating Tam-awan Village.
Just in case you went and visited the Mansion House. The guards are actually selling Filipino pride t-shirts and "Office of the President of the Philippines" pins. Just ask one of the guards and they have boxes of t-shirts in their posts stashed in a box. You can choose from small, medium, large and extra large sizes. The t-shirts comes in black, blue and yellow.
I bought a yellow one and I loved it. In fact, I wore it when I came back to the United States! T-shirts and pins with the "Office of the President of the Philippines" logo I paid P350.00
The food was pretty good. Baked goods are tasty, but definitely Filipino: very thin crusts, soft and airy breads. If you're looking for thick, crusty, hearty, chewy baguettes, batards, etc. you'll never find it in the Philippines.
The Filipino decor is nice. Semi open with interesting masks hanging from the ceiling. Service was relatively quick, a plus if you ever ever eaten at any Philippine restaurant. Chicken Mami, a Filipino noodle soup, usually eaten for mirienda or afternoon snack. It had a good tasty broth.
