Vines Pension: Cheap accommodation
We stayed here for 2 nights. Their rooms are ok. Clean and airconditioned. My only complaint is that they do not have windows. Can be claustrophobic for some.
The location is great, a bit far from the noisy center but it's still near enough to walk.
Standard Double - PHP650
Junior Suite - P850 with LCD TV :)
Suite for 3 - P1000
Breakfast is at P50 per plate but the cook is terrible.

Pryce Plaza Hotel: Jewel of Cagayan De Oro
Pryce Plaza Hotel is the Most Luxurious Hotel in Cagayan De Oro City, it is situated in top a hill called Carmen Hill and it overlooks the Macajalar Bay, the main bay of the City, offering spectacular views (hey I'm biased ok since i've stayed here!). Hotel room rates start at 3,500 pesos for a single room then 5,000 pesos for a double room. The airport is just 10 minutes away and an SM Mall is just a 5 minute drive (or a jeepney ride ) from here!
Pruce Plaza Hotel has 81 rooms which are spacious and allow you to relax with its elegant decor and furnishings. Each are equipped with refrigerator and mini-bar, bathroom telephone, NDD/IDD, cable and what i like here is the humongous Grand Mindanao Ballroom which can allow a capacity of 400 to 1,500 people inside!

Nature's Pensionne: Decent price and better location
This is a typical hotel - nothing special, not too bad. One thing to watch out for is they have some particularly noisy rooms due to the disco right across the street that runs to 3 am.
Also, the walls are kind of thin so you may be impacted for late nighters or early risers

Park View Hotel: hotel without hospitality
room - their double accomodation room didnt look double to us...the romm was cramped and you have very little space to move around - the tv set was on top of the closet so it looks like one of those i see in hospitals
bathroom - the bathrooms are pretty cramped as well - when you stand in the shower ur knees would touch the toilet bowl. when you open the door anyone whos inside checking him/herself in the mirror would end up hitting it.
whats worst? - the manager insisted for us to pay 100 pesos for each of the 3 models ive asked to dress up in the room so at least they wont end up causing commotion at the photoshoot location - the manager claimed that his staff *whom he cant even present to us - proved that 3 of my models *actually* slept in the room - in a room who doesnt know what SPACE is, or lets just say the manager himself doesnt know the definition of the word - or if im allowed to give the dimensions - the room is like 4 by 4 meters only. and they call it de-luxe.
service - the manager ( mr. chiang) was the worst ive manager ive met - he complained coz her secretary woke him up in the middle of his shift, and ended up blaming me for it. he was mad coz i wouldnt speak tagalog *which i dont know or bisaya *that hes not familiar of - i was speaking in english coz im comfortable with in in arguments like that - but he was mad coz maybe, just maybe he couldnt comprehend. the manager ended up making a decision even if he couldnt present any videotape or witness to prove that i let my models sleep in that box. he harrassed us verbally and almost physically coz he ended up blocking the exit doors if we dont pay....
to mr. chiang, i told you multiple times that i can pay - the only problem is you wouldnt listen - remember what i told you? now here it is. bad service doesnt need patronage.

We stayed in Middleton during our trip to CDO last Feb 17 - 19. We booked one of their 2-story apartelle units for 1800Php per night. It has 2 bedrooms 2 baths a small living room, dining area, kitchen, terrace and a dirty kitchen. It can comfortably accommodate 7 people, though you would need extra beds since the rooms only have 1 bed each. However, the hotel is not located in the main street so you need to have a cab pick you up if you're planning to go out. The units look a bit run down, like it was built some 10 - 15 years ago, and needs some improvement specially in the bathroom since drains tends to clog after some time They also have a pool which is a plus.

Koresco Hotel: High end hotel in the city
It has an amazing pool, gym, restaurant and a very Asian room. The hotel is owned and managed by a Korean company.
It is just across the Pueblo de Oro Golf and Country Club and near the airport. It is far from the main road and any vehicular traffic.

Marco Hotel: Best resort hotel in the city
Being near a reforested area, the hotel concept is more of a mountain resort. They have 2 pools, spa and a sport facility. They have restaurant where breakfast is included. For me it is the best resort type hotel within Cagayan de Oro.
It has a cold and warm pool. They also have a spa and sport facility. Since the hotel is located within a complex, vehicular traffic is few and noise levels are quite low unless there are events within the hotel area.

Pryce Hotel: Pryce Hotel: The best for foreigners!
My fiance and I stayed at the Pryce Hotel for 2 nights in early October 2007. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. It is clean, a bit expensive for CDO (about $75 USD) a night, a great view of the city as you are situated high on a hilltop, and very friendly staff. Room service is very prompt and the prices quite reasonable. We never used the pool but it look very clean and well-kept. We hired their hotel taxi for the day and the driver was fantastic. I recommend you take a day trip to Maria Cristina Falls and Tinago Falls in Iligan City...about 2-hours away by taxi. The cost was about 4000 pesos for the day (everything included) but well worth it!

Mallbery Suites: One of the BEST hotels in Cagayan de Oro
This hotel is comparable to any Hilton I've stayed in. It is relatively new (less than 2 years) and the owners really got it right. The room was large, modern and comfortable. Cable tv, A/C, pleanty of hot water, clean, well maintained and with a GREAT staff. I have read many reviews and people make comments like "the staff was attentive" but in this hotel the staff was OUTSTANDING!!! They made every effort to make me feel comfortable even when I left and stayed elsewhere for a few days.
When I returned to CDO the hotel was booked for 2 of the nights I wanted to stay and I know that they went to great lengths to accomodate me, I was very impressed.
For those who can't live without a laptop, the entire hotel is wireless!!
I cannot say enough positive things about my experience here. It was just great!
Hotel is wireless internet througout.
At 1800 php the price is very good and includes a buffet breakfast which was good every morning.
THE STAFF!!!! Hey Hilton family - stay here and see what great service is really like! You're not bad, but these guys have you beat.

Discovery Hotel: The WORST hotel in the WORLD!!!
This was the single, most disgusting hotel I have ever been in. I stayed for 1 night only due to the lateness of hour and my being dead on my feet. When I woke in the morning I found myself in a "flea bag" hotel, which included the fleas (and other vermin). The room was in poor shape and I made the mistake of lifting the bed sheet and seeing the mattress. I won't go into detail, but when I made it out of there to a better hotel I had to take 2 showers to feel clean again.
I did not take any photos - you should thank me.
So, what have we learned? The Discovery Hotel - DON'T GO!
1150 php per night, no breakfast included.
View of the alley way/urinal behind my room was very unique.
