Unique Quality: quick service, approachable staff, clean rooms, smells good, immaculate bedsheets, hot shower, double standard room that we got could accommodate up to 6 persons, just a 5-minute walk to divisoria, cable available that's why i didn't miss the 2-night asian idol telecast over abc 5

Venus Pension House: Just Right
We were suppose to stay in Willshire Inn, just in front of Vines Pension House, but it was fully booked already.
Anyway, vines is just right.
Room Rates:
Standard Double - PHP560
Standard Single - 450
Regular Single - 420
Cable TV, Hot/Cold Shower. Air Conditioned
Unique Quality: Check out was 12noon but we asked for a late check out at 2pm. But we arrived after rafting, around 2:30 good thing,
we were not given additional charges!!! Yeheey!

Koresco Hotel: High end hotel in the city
It has an amazing pool, gym, restaurant and a very Asian room. The hotel is owned and managed by a Korean company.
Unique Quality: It is just across the Pueblo de Oro Golf and Country Club and near the airport. It is far from the main road and any vehicular traffic.

Marco Hotel: Best resort hotel in the city
Being near a reforested area, the hotel concept is more of a mountain resort. They have 2 pools, spa and a sport facility. They have restaurant where breakfast is included. For me it is the best resort type hotel within Cagayan de Oro.
Unique Quality: It has a cold and warm pool. They also have a spa and sport facility. Since the hotel is located within a complex, vehicular traffic is few and noise levels are quite low unless there are events within the hotel area.

Pryce Hotel: Pryce Hotel: The best for foreigners!
My fiance and I stayed at the Pryce Hotel for 2 nights in early October 2007. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. It is clean, a bit expensive for CDO (about $75 USD) a night, a great view of the city as you are situated high on a hilltop, and very friendly staff. Room service is very prompt and the prices quite reasonable. We never used the pool but it look very clean and well-kept. We hired their hotel taxi for the day and the driver was fantastic. I recommend you take a day trip to Maria Cristina Falls and Tinago Falls in Iligan City...about 2-hours away by taxi. The cost was about 4000 pesos for the day (everything included) but well worth it!

Cha-li Beach Resort: Cagayan de Oro's Most Popular Resort!
Cha-Li Beach Resort had been in existence way back 1954. It was not only until November 1994 that the Resort was redeveloped as it is now and catering to a wider range of customers. From a 5-cottage affair – Cha-Li Beach Resort has now expanded to include a 3-storey hotel building. To date, Cha-Li has 16 fully furnished individual guest bungalows and 26 hotel rooms. Our De Luxe Cabanas has the best view of the beach front. All accommodations are fully-air-conditioned and furnished with colored cable TV, PABX telephone system, hot and cold water and bath. Mini refrigerators are available in our De Luxe Cabanas and Superior Bungalows.
The Conference Hall accommodates as many as 400 persons. Live-in seminar facilities can house a maximum of 230 persons. We also cater to all-occassion celebrations from weddings, baptismal, anniversaries and a lot more….

Cagayan Parkvie Lodge: Budget Friendly
If you're not picky and only needs a place to spend the night, then this is the way to go! The rooms aint fancy but its clean, no bugs, and with running hit water for shower.
This is situated in Plaza Divisoria so its very accessible to everything like public transpo (cab, motorela, jeep), supermarkets, drugstore, and fastfood (chowking, jollibee, mcdo) -- and the Divisoria Night Market is just a few steps away !!^_^

Mallbery Suites: One of the BEST hotels in Cagayan de Oro
This hotel is comparable to any Hilton I've stayed in. It is relatively new (less than 2 years) and the owners really got it right. The room was large, modern and comfortable. Cable tv, A/C, pleanty of hot water, clean, well maintained and with a GREAT staff. I have read many reviews and people make comments like "the staff was attentive" but in this hotel the staff was OUTSTANDING!!! They made every effort to make me feel comfortable even when I left and stayed elsewhere for a few days.
When I returned to CDO the hotel was booked for 2 of the nights I wanted to stay and I know that they went to great lengths to accomodate me, I was very impressed.
For those who can't live without a laptop, the entire hotel is wireless!!
I cannot say enough positive things about my experience here. It was just great!
Unique Quality: Hotel is wireless internet througout.
At 1800 php the price is very good and includes a buffet breakfast which was good every morning.
THE STAFF!!!! Hey Hilton family - stay here and see what great service is really like! You're not bad, but these guys have you beat.

Discovery Hotel: The WORST hotel in the WORLD!!!
This was the single, most disgusting hotel I have ever been in. I stayed for 1 night only due to the lateness of hour and my being dead on my feet. When I woke in the morning I found myself in a "flea bag" hotel, which included the fleas (and other vermin). The room was in poor shape and I made the mistake of lifting the bed sheet and seeing the mattress. I won't go into detail, but when I made it out of there to a better hotel I had to take 2 showers to feel clean again.
I did not take any photos - you should thank me.
So, what have we learned? The Discovery Hotel - DON'T GO!
1150 php per night, no breakfast included.
Unique Quality: View of the alley way/urinal behind my room was very unique.

MASS SPEC Hostel: Near Divisoria area
The aircon doesn't work well. The room is not that well-maintained. The CR is too small. The dormitory type accommodation is also PHP 200 per head/night. The elevator is broken (our room is on the 5th floor... wah!!).
Unique Quality: Near the Divisoria area where the Weekend Night Market is held. The manager, Paps Dagayo, is accommodating and helpful. He was the one who directed us to Sunshine Guest House when MASS SPEC couldn't accommodate us because it was fully booked.
