Westin Philippine Plaza: An Isolated Resort Hotel near Manila Bay
I never stayed in this 5-star hotel but I've attended wedding receptions and not to mention my own Junior and Senior prom here. They have huge ballroom area, spacious and high-ceilinged lobby. Most conventions are held here too.
Although this hotel is a little isolated, it's within the compound of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). Within CCP complex, you can find tour reservation area for the Corregidor Island trip, Star City (carnival with lots of rides), Coconut Palace, Folk Arts Theater (where local bands and folkloric dance groups stage performances) and Cultural Center of the Philippines (home of Ballet Philippines and well-known theater groups).
This resort hotel has a huge swimming pool surrounded by palm trees. It also has a good view of Manila Bay's Sunset. They also have a spa and tennis courts.
My favorite hangout is the Siete Pecados, a bar, which has live cover bands. The crowd is more formal because they're older and richer! :-) Entrance fee of P250 on weeknights and P500 for Friday and Saturday.

Makati Shangri-La: Makati's Forest in the City
It is the best one night treat that i gave to myself! I felt like a princess from start to finish. It is definitely the best hotel in this area and the most important thing of all is that the location gives you the luxury of just walking to the best shopping center in the Philippines!
The service is superb and the food is exquisite. The view is not that really class A but it will not be felt for all the rest makes up for the loss of it.

Friendly's Guest House: A great guesthouse in Manila
This is a great budget guesthouse. The owners are seasoned backpackers and are well tuned to what travellers require. They have private rooms and airconditioned dormitories. 24 hour security.
All new sheets and free coffee all day long. They have a fully equipped kitchen that guests have free access to. The place has a great balcony that overlooks the Malate district. Rates are under US$10/person.

pension natividad: nice and cheap place to stay
the pension natividad is a homey, cozy place. It's an old big house turned into a pension house for travellers. It has a garden and you can cook your own food in their kitchen. there's also a coffee shop. the rooms are clean and modest. they have hot water. no phone line though. you makeyour calls at the reception through a public phone.
it's homey! you'll feel relaxed and the good thing is it's right in the middle of the city. very affordable also. it's near the mall, about 30 mins from the airport, near the park, near everything!

Makati Shangri-La: Makati Shangri-La
My stay at Shangri-La was most pleasing and relaxing. I stayed with a group of friends, and literally lazed around, savoring the hotel's amenities. We went to the gym, took a steam bath, we checked out the coffee area and took a dip in the pool. I love Shangri-La Makati---it's really one of the best!
Besides that it's within proximity from the Glorietta and Greenbelt malls, Makati Shangri-La also has a great ambience to it. The pool is very tempting to swim into and the just lounging on the pool side is a taste of heaven.

Garden Plaza Hotel & Suites: Garden Plaza Hotel & Suites
With its courtyard structure, a few flights of broad, carpeted, brass-railed, staircases, guestrooms with expansive, leathertop, oak desks, matching TV cabinets and big-sized baths, faintly lingers the charm of what used to be a truly European style inn. Among what remains of this theme is an authentic Swiss restaurant, with excellent food and menu selection. Although facilities are basic, services offered are comprehensive from baby-sitting to concerts and city tour arrangements. A bit off from the main Manila action allowing more privacy. For the price, relatively fair value accommodation. Please visit: http://www.asiahotels.com/hotelinfo/Garden_Plaza_Suites/ for more information.

Westin Phil. Plaza: Manila's Best Hotels
Always a relaxing moment at Westin. The place is strategically located near the Bay and you can just sit or lie on the grass, close your eyes and listen to the waves. It's the nearest escape from the city's hubub. They have special promos during certain times of the year, so it won't hurt to inquire regularly. The accomodation's A1. A deluxe room's complete with a tub, hot water, toiletries, flat iron, a terrace with a good view of the pool and the adjacent bay and of course a 24-hour service.
Westin has a fitness area or gym, a jacuzzi, a steam bath, sauna and a beautiful pool with outdoor bars for drinks and food. Inside the hotel's a couple of bars which caters to party people who loves dancing and live bands; coffee lovers; KTV lovers and those who just wants to sit down and have a relaxing and luxurious dinner a la carte or smorgas. =)

Traders Hotel Manila: Best Hotel by the Bay
Great service, great rates, great ambiance, and conveniently located in front of the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex, Star City Theme Park, shopping centers, and other tourist destinations.
It has a great view of the bay.. sunsets here are awesome.. by the poolside.. where you can get a massage while getting a tan..
Also, the spa is excellent, one of the best massages i've ever had. Their massage therapists are Japanese-trained. And very reasonably-priced services menu. A must is the Body Scrub Massage!
