G Hotel Manila by Waterfront: SURELY A PLEASURE

by utchie

We never got the bucket of ice we requested but that’s about it. Everything else were delivered on time and as requested.

No questions - STAFFS are very ACCOMMODATING AND FRIENDLY. They made us feel very welcome and just as important as the other foreign guests staying at the Suites and Executive rooms (we stayed at Deluxe, cheapest available =P ). As said, every call (except for the ice bucket) was answered and needs were met. In fact, expectations were exceeded. They do not complicate matters. A request to transfer rooms was as easy as 1-2-3. No further questions asked or show of inconvenience on their part. Reservations and check in were all smooth and easy.

The hotel is clean and the interior is very good, homey and comfy. Because it is at bayside, it was very relaxing and refreshing to be in the heart of Manila and yet so close to nature. They have complete complimentary toiletries and other basic needs.

Food is great. The pasta and mashed potato are most delicious. So is their apple juice. I liked the brewed coffee, just right for my taste. Breakfast buffet is Php550.

Value for money – Okay. Comparing to other good hotels in Malate Manila, G Hotel is actually less expensive. But it is way more expensive than other hotels which I assume is not as good in terms of interiors and amenities but just as clean and comfy. Lets put it this way: if you are looking for a place to spend the night, go to the less expensive hotels, but if you want relaxation and to have fun, G Hotel is a good place for that. They actually have packages from time to time so it is wise to book by phone rather than via their website so the staffs can offer you the packages.

To sum it up, G Hotel has nice view, good interiors, clean and comfy room, complete supplies and good value for money. But it’s still the staff’s sweet smiles and simple initiatives which carried them a long way apart from other hotels.

I and two of my best friends gives G Hotel SIX THUMBS UP. =)

For more pictures and details of our stay in this hotel, visit my travelogue on G HOTEL

-They have a small swimming pool at the roof deck.
-Our room (and I think all rooms) has a nice view of the Manila Bay.
-They have complete complimentary toiletries and other basic needs.
-Very accessible.
-Near Robinsons Place Mall and SM Mall of Asia.
-Restaurants and bars and Spa Centers are also walking distance.
-Function room with 180degrees view of Manila Bay.

Town and Country Hotel: Good place to stay

by utchie

Highly recommended.

They have affordable, clean and comfortable rooms.
As of May 2008 - rooms rates range from PHP600 (USD10-15) to PHP1200 (USD20-25) for 12 hours. You get a hundred off if you stay for 24 hours. No check in time. Time meter will start at anytime you checked in.

Friendly staffs. They have a restaurant and videoke at the lobby. Good food for reasonable prices but you can bring your own food inside or have it delivered.

Spacious rooms. Homey ambience.
Good place for families and friends.
Often has a birthday/wedding party celebration at the lobby.

No advance reservations. First come first serve.
Is usually fully booked on weekends and holidays.

One ride to SM Megamall, Shangrila Mall. Ortigas and Pasig Area.

Shangri La: Shangri La Hotel

Roman Suites: Makati's small hotel

by simplytaj

I used to stay here for overnight just before my early morning flight...its convenient and affordable, right smack in the middle of Makati I used to run errands, always on a rush, last minute shopping and meetings. This way, I save gasoline, no problem parking, I can finish my meetings and not harrassed before I fly. I just damp all my things in the hotel and do what I have to do. Wake up early and take a taxi outside the hotel to the airport. Try it!

The bathrooms are clean which is very important for me and the location is perfect. 15mins w/o traffic to the intl and domestic airports!

Rennaissance: Makati just around the block

by simplytaj

It was not part of the plan but no regrets coz I enjoyed my stay alone in the hotel. I would recommend it to tourists who are in Manila for business/pleasure. As long as it fits your budget, try it!

I spent most of my day at the poolside with my I-pod and a book. The poolside is nice and they have a grill resto around the corner so you dont have to go outside the hotel plus they offer different kind of drinks w/ or w/o alcohol.

Lemuria Inn: Oasis in the city

by regmanh

Lemuria was an ancient civilization which existed prior to and during the time of Atlantis. At its peak of civilization, the Lemurian people were both highly evolved and very spiritual. Staying in this hideaway in the heart of Pasay bridges the time between that ancient society and today.

A virtual landmark for artists and musicians, many a boheme have stayed here, played music, pounded drums, painted stories, cooked fantastic meals, danced with abandon, and shared their lives.

Lemuria Inn is located in Pasay City, just a few minutes away from the Domestic and International airports, and sits in a friendly, pre-war and tree laden compound 10 minutes away from the major southbound and northbound bus terminals and 5 minutes away from the Metro Rail and Light Rail Transit.

Renaissance Makati City Hotel (Part 2)

by victorwkf

Personally, I enjoyed my stay at the Renaissance Makati City Hotel and would recommend to anyone who wants to stay at a good hotel in the Makati area. I paid about US$105 (excluding taxes) per night because I attended a meeting at the hotel.

Another thing you need to take note is that the security guards are rather strict about taking photos of the hotel lobby. They will allow you to take if you are inside the photo, but you cannot take photos without anyone in it (I managed to take a few photos before the security approach me).

Renaissance Makati City Hotel (Part 1)

by victorwkf

The Renaissance Makati City Hotel is a very good 5-star hotel located at the heart of the Makati shopping area. In fact, the Greenbelts shopping area is just next to the hotel, and the big Glorietta shopping complex and Landmark shopping centre are just across the road. The Ayala Museum is also very near.

The rooms are very cosy and the upper floors have great views of the skycrapers of the Makati area. The breakfast is great with lots of variety, including the smoked salmon (and other smoked fishes) which are very delicious. Most important of all, the staff of this hotel are very courteous and helpful. They will make it a point to greet you when they see you, and are extremely helpful.

The only downside with hotels in the Makati area is that security is very tight. Whenever you enter the hotel main door, they need to scan you and your belongings. Please go to part 2 of this tip.

Tower Inn: The best location

by mandybailey

The rooms here weren't as spacious as Hotel Kimberly in Malate, the breakfast wasn't quite as nice, the showers weren't always hot and it was a little more expensive BUT the location here is fantastic. It's a 2 minute walk to Glorietta Mall and across the street from Greenbelt so shopping/restaurants/bars/banks are literally right on your doorstep!

There aren't many hotels in this price range in this location.
