Sanctuary in the City
by Strikinsmile
Ayala Center is a city within Makati City simply because it’s got everything a tourist needs: malls, restaurants, cinemas, gym, spa, museum and even a chapel. I call the Santo Niño de Paz Chapel a sanctuary in the city because it’s perfectly located right in the heart of Greenbelt, situated amid tall structures, lush greeneries and landscaped gardens.
If, in the middle of the day, you suddenly feel like getting a spiritual reprieve, take a walk along Greenbelt Park and make your way to the chapel. It’s always a refreshing feeling to spend a moment with Him. Masses are also celebrated at the Sto. Niño de Paz Chapel everyday with lively songs of praise. The Chapel has always been a sanctuary. I pay a visit whenever I can just to say a prayer or experience silence when the world seems “too loud” for me.
Great churches
by airasia
Makati has a couple of churches. One of them Binondo church said to be built in the 17th century, is the shrine of 1st Filipino saint, Lorenzo ruiz. Great architectural, something I don't see it at home. This church is located in the middle of China town.

Stroll through Padre Bourgos
by whvcebu about There are ample bars on the strip
If you can't do without night clubbing, there are lots of bars along Makati Avenue and Padre Bourgos.
Girlie bars, discos, shows, better ones lousy ones, cheap ones, expensive ones (and cheating is the rule in a few establishments)
Be careful! mostly casual - to business (take off your necktie)
Run Forrest Run
by dcmanicad about Bubba Gump Shrimp: Greenbelt 3
This restaurant is inspired by the movie “Forrest Gump” and that theme is everywhere inside. Photos of the movie and behind the scenes, paraphernalia used in the movie like old toys, kitchen utensils…etc, replica of the white suit worn by Tom Hanks in the movie, ‘My mama says…’ quotations, everything. They even have a unique way of letting them know if you need service. Two car plate-like signs are on each table. One is color blue with the sign ‘RUN FORREST RUN’ while the other is colored red with ‘STOP FORREST STOP’. If you need anything, you just flip the blue sign to show the red sign. And they will come to your aid immediately. The food? I enjoyed what we ordered for lunch. The Shrimp New Orleans is always being ordered and for good reason. We also had a BBQ platter, which was served with a corn cob and lots of fries. The fish in the ‘fish and chips’ was delicious, although I would still give the edge to the very tasty ‘fish and chips’ I had in Subiaco, Australia.
For your drinks try something different, like the Speckled Lemonade, which is your usual lemonade with a whole strawberry added, as well as a lot of strawberry bits.
