VT International meeting and get together
Posted: Nov 03, 2010

Hello, fellow travellers around the world it is been a long time I connect to virtual tourist again, and I would like to have a VT meeting in the Philippines in Taguig, Global Fort Bonifacio, Market Market, at the "Seafood Island", seafood grill and barbecue house, they can only accomodate 30 peoples in the private room but outsides they can accomodate more peoples and they have live band outside singing nightly. If some VT members like to have more FUN,FUN, we can have private karaoke in the private room just like putting P5.00 so that you can sing. I will provide it for FREE and you don't have to pay P5.00 per songs and they have the latest songs titles. Please let me know if you are coming so that I will tell the manager of the restaurant how many peoples are coming and very important. The restaurant they open till 1:00am, and this is Saturday and the food are very reasonable price and I need VT Philippines members volunteer so that this is a successful VT International meeting. On Saturday, November 27, 2010, you have to be there dinner time at 6:00 or 7:00pm and it okey too if are EARLY or late. Wear clothes that you are most comfortable with. We will update for more information. Please forward to others VT Philippines members and VT International members, it is nice to have change of weather for awhile especially in winter time, to tropical/warm weather. You can bring guest too. Thank you very much in advance.

Hello, YOU ONLY PAY FOR THE FOOD THAT YOU EAT AND DRINK. It is the same you just like to eat or drink in any restaurant in the Philippines. You order food and drink and you have to pay your bills. NO ENTRANCE FEE. If you have some suggestions to make it fun and memorable VT International Meeting I will welcome diversity. Please forward to some VT Philippines members. Thanks and blessings.

Hi to all! I regret to say that i can go for the meet. Saturday is a big working day for me. And for the info, VT members here in the Philippines is I can say active in meetings, events and travelling. You can visit this site http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/1179d4/
Another info, if there's a meet/travel with co-VTers usually we pay for our own expense UNLESS the host has voluntered to pay for some or for all.

I want to clarify that the culture here in the Philippines if you invite peoples you are the one to pay for everything but that depend on the organizer person who want to have a VT meeting. In my case I just have to apply what I have experience back home in Vancouver, Canada, when I was very active back then in VT meeting for local VT member and International meeting, WE EACH PAY OUR BILL we consume ( eat/drink ), and the same in Seoul South Korea in 2006 for local and International VT meeting. Western Culture are differents...! Blessings.

Travel Tips for Manila

Dieties Keep You Safe in Taxis

by AKtravelers

One of the scariest things you can do on this planet is take a taxi ride in Manila. So it follows that one of the riskiest jobs anywhere would be to drive taxis in Manila -- especially that holding such a job must be contingent on averaging a certain number of traffic violations per minute! Therefore, it is not surprising that almost every taxi driver has a shrine on his dashboard. Most of them have Jesus and Mary, but if I were them that wouldn't be enough -- I'd have every possible diety I could think of from Jesus to Buddha to Pele to that Hindu god with 20 arms. Only then would you feel truly protected.
I am not exaggerating to say that we almost averaged two accidents per taxi trip. Our drivers went up one way roads the wrong way against gobs of traffic and jittneys, took lefts from the right hand lane, blew through red lights and even went airborne occassionally. All this while trying to get a commission for selling us on going to some strip bar. This was adventure tourism!
Everytime I saw one of these dasboard religious displays, I thought of the Rolling Stones song "The Girl with the Far Away Eyes" where Mick Jagger tells about the radio preacher who said "You know you always have the Lord by your Side" so he ran 20 red lights in his honor. In Manila, we ran more than 20 red lights!

Pasig River

by kylian74

Pasig river is flowing just in the heart of Manila connecting Laguna de Bay and Manila Bay then out to China sea. Some people called these 'dying river' due to flooded garbage in the past years and polluted water. However, the Philippine government have a strong project and campaign for these river since the past few years to clean up the water and whole area.

Go to the mall.

by cachaseiro

The Philippines really seem to have a thing with malls.
There are dozens of them in Manila and they are all packed.
My guess is that because of the heat in Manila people prefer to go shopping and dining in a place where there is air condition.

Baguio Photo Album II is the...

by thelia18

Baguio Photo Album II is the second and more recent album which was created in November 25, 2001. The cover photo (shown at left) of the album portrays the former city mayor of Baguio, Mauricio G. Domogan, in an authentic Igorot attire of a native warrior and participating in an Igorot dance ritual. The album contains 109 of the latest scanned photographs of the city which were taken by the Hawaiian WebMaster during his visit to Baguio in February 2000. The album is divided into two main parts consisting of pictures portraying different places in the city. There are 44 photographs in each part.

Filipino Hospitality!

by machomikemd

Filipinos are generally known for our hospitality which sometimes to a fault. Although we are not the only people in the world who can be friendly, warm, and welcoming, our attitude toward other people is said to be unique.

The foreigner will experience being "at home" almost anywhere in the Philippines. If he happens to drop by a Filipino home unannounced (you could not do that in the United States and expect to be entertained!), the family will normally offer him something to eat. The host will not complain that he's being disturbed and will not boast that he has offered the best that is available under the circumstances. We will also give the best accomodations for overnight sleeping
