More than adequate, but a bit seedy

Stayed here for 5 nights. Staff were polite and professional. Room was big, lot bigger than I imagined it would be. (Booked through Expedia) Facilities were adequate. Bed was extremely comfortable. Masses of storage space. Good power shower. Cable TV. Mini bar (don't use it, unless you are lazy, 7/11 next to hotel far far cheaper and hotel does allow you to buy from outside and bring it in). Lift to floors takes some getting used too, you need to press your electronic key card against a large black round reader situated below the floor number buttons, before pressing the floor number that you require. Entry to rooms is by similar black round reader (no swipe lock) just press key card against disk. Immediately inside door on the wall is the box where you insert you key card to operate the electrics in the room.
Hotel takes a 1000 peso deposit for 'incidental charges'.
As hotels go the Executive Plaza is excellent value and is handily located; however, it is situated in the middle of a 'red-light' district, surrounded by 'girly bars' etc. There are also lots of shady characters who hang around outside the hotel front steps pimping 'bar girls', the pavement outside the hotel is also the haunt of 'street girls' and 'ladyboys' prostituting themselves, and lots of beggars both children and adults. The hotel quite openly allows guests to bring back 'visitors'! This is all well and good if you are a single bloke like me or a group of lads on a 'jolly up' etc, but I do not think that it is an establishment for families. The sex industry is very blatant in Manila and especially so outside the front of the Executive Plaza Hotel.
Would I stay here again? Absolutely!!

Unique Quality: Casino Filipino directly across the street, for those who like a gamble.

Good Location

The room at this hotel was very spacious, huge bed, nice bathroom etc.Although the small window looked onto a walled area. The staff were friendly and helpfull.I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again but for my budget and needs i believe the Manila Pearl is better value.

Convenient and Affordable Hotel

Everytime we arrived in Manila we used to stay in Executive Hotel. It only 10-15 min. from Ninoy Aquino Airport, 3 mins. walking to Robinson Ermita, surrounding of many restaurant, bars and karaoke, Casino is only across the street. Hotel services is still the same - friendly staff. Restaurant & Bars is open from morning to mignight with Billiards.
