Manila's worst

The hotel room carpeting is the dull grey typically found in Doctor offices, industrial offices and was quite a shocker and disappointment. The furniture is dated and rooms have quiet a musky odor. I was transferred to an upgraded room, as the room I was assigned to was dirty and had an imprint of an iron on the carpet. (someone dropped it) The hotel room internet wifi is approx P300 daily and although mine came free on a promotion with travelocity, I noticed very expensive surcharges on hotel fees. So It really isn't free on promotions.

I like the hotel staff, adequate and room housekeeping was attentive to my request. The hotel Lobby is terrible, they only have room for one couch. It's a rushed hurried feeling. Not very relaxing at all. You'll notice immediately to the left of check in is the on duty manager! Keep this in mind if you continue to check in here.

I love how there is direct access to Robinson's Mall on the 4th floor. Lots of food to eat on the food court, and buy your groceries, drinks at the Supermarket on the basement. The MRT station closest to the hotel is ORTIGAS station. EDSA traffic as usual is terrible, so I often take the MRT closer to my destination and taxi if necessary!

I'm very shocked with the high reviews this hotel gets. Travelocity even refuses to add my hotel review to their website pending approval. Stay away from travelocity, I've been a loyal customer for along time. I'm switching to Kayak.

Don't overpay for this hotel!

Holiday Inn Galleria Manila

Stayed 2 nights courtesy of my work. Didn't really appreciate the place all the much since we just went back to the hotel to just sleep. Very near my office so going back at 2am was convinient. The bank booked us (triple share), and we were given a studio suite (the hotel was fully booked). It has a king size bed, and a roll away for the 3rd person. The bank paid about 4.5k, corporate rate, including breakfast for 3.

Unique Quality: The studio suite was big, it has a receiving area with a couch (2nd pic). King sized bed (1st pic) and was easy to request for extra pillows. Toiletries have a generic packaging - shampoo, conditioner, lotion and bath gel comes in a tube type with no hotel logo whatsoever.

Holiday Inn Manila

by CliffClaven

On one of his visits to Manila, when tourists had cancelled en masse after Ninoy Aquino had been assassinated at the airport, old Cliffie walked into the Holiday Inn and asked the price of a room. The desk clerk smiled hopefully and quoted 95 dollars. Old Cliffie smiled knowingly and got the rate down to 30 dollars a night for three nights. Manila tends to be dusty, chaotic and hot. The Holiday Inn offers an air-conditioned haven of peace and quiet.

Transportation from Clark airport to Holiday Inn manila

by james_sarawak

Upon arrival at clark international airport , is there any bus service served by Phitranco Services Enterprise as i learnt from Airasia website ?

I have learnt that there has no taxi service served the route between manila and Clark airport ?

If taken by Philtranco's bus from clark airport to manila , the drop off point will be at the terminal located in SM megamall . Distance between SM megamall and Holiday inn manila ? brief decsription of the way to Holiday inn from the Philtranco terminal ?

Thanks

If you're referring to Holiday Inn Galleria Manila, then it is just a 10mins walk from the Philtranco drop off point in Megamall. The drop off is at the back of Megamall and only the Asian Development Bank (ADB) compound separates Megamall and Holiday Inn (which is connected to Robinson's mall).

However, depending on your luggage and the weather, you may take a cab from the terminal. It will take you less than 10mins and metered fare would be P60-P70. Take note that when you take a cab, you add P10 on the final meter reading.

I took a pvt car to A/C from Manila and it was 2500 the taxi driver said he could'nt drive to A/C in a taxi so he got his own car.I guess the taxi there can't drive to Manila either but there will be pvt cars or vans if you want them but it will cost now maybe 3000 or more with gas prices and the bus is maybe 100 or so.Its a short taxi to Holiday Inn from the bus depot I've stayed there twice but could'nt tell you how to get there.

No taxi service? That's silly. In fact every time I travel to the Philippines I take a taxi/personal driver between Manila and Clark. You can hire a personal driver from the Margarita Station for about $50-$60. In fact I highly recommend it because you don't have to worry about anything. The drivers are exceptionally friendly and easy to get along with. Check out the sites I listed below. They're very resourceful. Safe travels to you.
