3* HOTEL and NOTHING MORE

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on June 9, 2014

Normally we would not stay in such accommodation but Philippine Airlines were obliged to accommodate us at the Palm Plaza as the flight was late and we missed our connection. The rooms were adequate with cable tv, comfortable bed and clean bathroom. The meal provided was tasty but not quite enough to fill up our stomachs. The staff were friendly and arranges our early morning call and transfer back to the airport the next morning.
Prices on the hotel menu for room service seemed to be very reasonable, but of course we did not see the size of the portions
On the hotel's website there seem to be very cheap offers of 1600 pesos a night which indeed would be a bargain for this area.

not worth a dime

Terrible (1.0 of 5.0 stars)

Had a hard time sleeping coz of too much noise from the streets. Not a safe place; security is very lax. Too many street whores peddling their services even at the hotel lobby.

Unique Quality: Hotel badly needs renovation!

Thanks to Milenyo...

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)

I'm not really happy that the super storm Milenyo visited Metro Manila and the whole National Capital Region had a massive power outage considered as a black out for several days. Since we're Makati afficionados, we would've liked to stay in a hotel, hostel, pension house, inn or whatever else there...but you know what, even the most seamy place was fully booked in Makati...then we shifted to Manila. All the good places were fully booked. Thank God I know Adriatico like the back of my hand (because of teaching Speech Empowerment). During the SEA games, some the delegates from the neighboring countries stayed at the Palm Plaza hotel (you wouldn't miss the ultra large banner) so when Hyatt Pedro Gil (where we ate our snacks) couldn't free a room for us, we went to the next best thing...Palm Plaza.

Sure, it wasn't anything like the Manila Hotel, the Manila Diamond, the Pan Pacific or wherever else, but the service was good and later, I will talk about Cocoy's, their main restaurant. =)

(My pictures are mostly of Cocoy's)

Don't look for a room with a view...

Unique Quality: Friendly staff

=)

Not heaven on earth, but it's the next best thing!

(you might wonder why I placed my solo pix here...it was taken inside the room when I was so bored before going to Robinson's Place...As I mentioned, sorry, the other photos are of Cocoy's)

i have stayed at palm plaza 6 times, and i really enjoy this facility. it has a great location, near many shopping malls, restaurants, manila bay, manila zoo, intramauros, ccp, and travel agencies and money changers seemingly everywhere. also a small internet cafe next to the hotel. nice little restaurant in the hotel, rooms are adequate for the budget minded traveler. hot shower, phone, cable t.v. , air conditioner all work so i had no problems... staff very friendly usually, good driver there available for tours, 24 snack shop across the street, and several night clubs within walking distance.

Unique Quality: tremendous location, clean rooms, good staff.

Directions: tourist district in ermita, near airports and roxas blvd.
