SAFE, FRIENDLY and Near MALL, INTRAMUROS

I have been staying here on my trips to Manila since 1990 and would recommend this if you are looking for a safe place. The pension house is located in Del Pilar St near the diamond Hotel and is a 5 min walk from Pedro Gil Station, 3 min walk to Robinsons Mall, many restaurants nearby and easily accessible to Intramuros. I have known Gaby, the manager/owner for all those years and he is always pleasant, always has time to answer your questions as the guy is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to info regarding Manila and the whole of the country. There is a gatehouse with 24 hour security guard and a terrace area to sit outside and have a meal (limited food on offer). There is also a dorm room if you are on a budget. Many NGO's stay here.

Hostel

Stayed there for 4 nights. it's a hostel set in a courtyard.
there were two 10 bed dorm rooms, ask the reception for the room away from the street, i guarantee you will apprieciate the quietness and the somewhat the absence of the noise produced by the jeepneies.
A faned dorm bed cost 250 pesos.

More about Pension Natividad

nice and cheap place to stay

by zephyrgurl108 about pension natividad

the pension natividad is a homey, cozy place. It's an old big house turned into a pension house for travellers. It has a garden and you can cook your own food in their kitchen. there's also a coffee shop. the rooms are clean and modest. they have hot water. no phone line though. you makeyour calls at the reception through a public phone. it's homey! you'll feel relaxed and the good thing is it's right in the middle of the city. very affordable also. it's near the mall, about 30 mins from the airport, near the park, near everything!

im from the province of leyte and has been to manila for twice only..i will have an interview at the US embassy this november. i would like to ask some suggestions where i could possibly stay either a hotel or pension house that is nice, clean and yet affordable and definitely just very near the embassy or maybe a walk away from the embassy.

thank you in advance for your generous replies.

across the street from the us embassy is bayview park hotel and miramar (or marimar) hotel.

there are 3star hotels a bit farther, near robinson's ermita but it will require around 15mins walk or 5mins cab ride. i.e. cherry blossoms, hostel 1352 (not exactly sure of the number), manila manor, friendly's guesthouse, las palmas, city garden, etc.

There are several small hotels in this area that may be cheaper. In any hotel you have to be very careful of any money or other important documents that you have with you. If the hotel/hostel has a security box for valuables - USE IT!
