Living up to its name
by asianbelle about Apo View Hotel
It is one of the first "star-rated" hotels in the city and a by-word among business travellers. The hotel's ballroom and several function rooms make it a preferred choice for conventions and exhibitions as well as special events like wedding reception, debut, party, etc.
Living up to its name, the rooms provide a view of Mt. Apo from a distance and the busy streets below. It is also located at the intersection of several roads providing easy access to public transpo. Aside from the pool, I like to stay here because of its fitness center. Fitness Advantage runs the center and checked-in guests can use the facilities and attend aerobic classes.

Cheap Clean Lodging
by monina_c about D'Counter Executive Dormitory
The name of this inn is a little misleading. It is not a dorm nor is it an executive level lodging. :)
D'Counter Executive Dormitory is located in front of the Apo View Hotel. For the P800/night (US$17) I got a clean a/c room with clean bathroom (it has hot and cold shower). The beddings and towels are clean but sad to say they don't provide shampoo and toothbrush so be sure to bring your own.
The price of the room includes breakfast (the usual set meal that you get in the fastfood outlets all over the Philippines). The view in my third floor room is the roof deck garden which can be used as a party venue. The inn has no hairdryer nor laundry and ironing service. But the plus factor is that the room boy assigned to my floor was accommodating enough to bring my clothes to the laundry a few doors down to get it ironed (he even waited for it). Of course I paid for the ironing in cash and gave the room boy bakshees.
The locale of D'Counter Executive Dormitory is very safe for visitors. It is conveniently located so that one needs only to walk a few minutes to get to all night stores, drug stores and a few local restaurants and bars.
Apo View Hotel

A restaurant about equal with the Insular Waterfront Hotel is the Apo View Hotel. We ate there numerous times (in part because of its proximity to where we were). The service is excellent ant the food is also excellent.
They had the largest selection of different kinds of food. Locals and Westerners frequent this place. it is also a great value.
It is slightly more formal than the Waterfront, but the athmosphere is friendly and relaxed. ***2010 UPDATE***
The buffet at the Apo View hotel is not longer being offered. This is to bad. I don't know when it changed, but it did. Apo View is a quality place and it's a shame they no longer offer this service.
The Apo View Hotel is large enough to host a variety of events. This trip we had 3 weddings to attend and/or participate in with friends of ours who got married. One was held at the Apo View Hotel. These are photos of that event and the grounds.

Is anyone here a Diamond club member of Apo View hotel? How can one be a member? What are the benefits of being a member?

Hi. I was a former employee of the Apo View, I'm just not sure the Diamond Club still exists. The advantages would be discounted room rates as well as discounted meals at the restaurants including Top of the Apo (rooftop restaurant), Remedios' Steakhouse, and the Pag-Asa Bar ( I don't if I'm still updated with the names)
