We R Inn Hotel: Davao City's Value-for-Money Hotel
ATTENTION: TOURISTS ON A BUDGET...This hotel is for you! We R Inn Hotel, conveniently located at J. P. Laurel Avenue, Davao City.
This was not our original choice but a last-minute accommodation recommended to us by a friend in Davao City. However, we couldn't have made a better choice. Budget-wise, rates start at P800/night for single travelers, 1,200 for triple occupancy and P1000 for matrimonial bedroom. Rates are really okay for the rooms that we got. Nothing fancy but the air conditioner was really "cool" and the bathrooms are big enough to accommodate tall or wide-of-girth people...definitely bigger than most budget hotels. No windows, though for a good view...but then, you will stay in the rooms to sleep only anyway.
The best part is...the room rates come with free breakfast! Just the usual corned beef-egg, fried fish-egg with fried rice and coffee breakfast but, mind you, they are all cooked when you order, and gets to you piping hot!
Location-wise, just cross the street a shopping Mall is there. Take a short ride and you'll be at the Victoria Plaza, other shopping malls and fruit stands.
The front desk personnel are very accommodating, who were very attentive to our needs and provided information about tours, taxis, places to go, etc. Gave us a good discount too!
If you need info on this hotel, just email me. Will be happy to answer questions.
This small hotel has got Internet available for free...but if you don't have a laptop with you, there are desktop units in the lobby which you can rent by the hour at very reasonable prices.
If you have a car (rented or otherwise), the hotel has a big compound which can accommodate vans, cars and buses with adequate security.

Marco Polo Davao: First class service and accommodation
I was absolutely satisfied with our stay at the Marco Polo Davao. All the staff we encountered in the hotel were quick in delivering our requests and they were all pleasant.
First of all, we were allowed early check-in. We arrived at about 10am at Marco Polo Davao. No time was wasted - as soon as we filled out the information sheet at the front desk, we were given our room key and our bags were sent up to the room. This gave us time to rest a bit before going out for lunch and a full afternoon of sightseeing.
We stayed in a deluxe room. Although nothing outstanding with its design, the room was well-maintained and spacious and comes with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was also clean and had the usual toiletries and towel sets for two. Our room had a big window with a nice view of the city.
My husband asked the housekeeping staff to press one of his shirts, but unfortunately wrote the wrong instruction on the laundry service sheet. My husband told the housekeeping staff about it and, without any complaint or hesitation, the housekeeping staff pressed his shirt again and brought it back to our room right away.
I do recommend this hotel to people who would like to really enjoy their trip to Davao City. Its price is higher than most hotels in the area (I think its room rates are almost the same as those of Waterfront Insular Hotel), but it is worth it.
What I remember well about the facilities at Marco Polo Davao is the swimming pool. It is particularly stunning in the evening. It has colored lights that change every few minutes.
It was also a delight to hang out at their poolside bar, because the bar attendants were accommodating and pleasant - even while they were mixing drinks for customers.

Nice location. We didnt have a prior reservation so the only availbale room that they had was the junior suite (or something like that) for around P3,000. They do have the basic ammenities, TV and ref. They dont have elevators so we had to climb the stairs up to the 3rd floor. Breakfast is not included unfortunately and if I remember it right, there's also no coffee/tea in the room. Well considering the price, I somehow expected it.

Josefina Condotel: Davao place to stay
I stayed at Josefina this past April 2008 for one week. My experience there was just fine. I rented 2 rooms for me, my girl and her 2 kids as well as another room for other family members. The owner was nice over the phone and upon meeting her in person, I found her to be very nice. Perhaps it's just the nice guy in me, but I had no problems. The location was perfect and the rooms were basically fine. Upon checkout, the owner pointed out I overpaid and promptly gave me a refund of the difference in cash! She also helped me with airline reservations for me back to Manila (saved me a few pesos, too). I intend to stay there again next April 2009, but it would be nice to secure larger accommodations.
Across the street from NCCC Mall. Internet cafe located a few feet from the main entrance. A small bank branch located a few feet from the main entrance. Walking distance to a nice KTV Bar and Restaurant.

Waterfront Insular Hotel: Davao's oldest premier hotel
Despite changes in name and ownership over the years, the Insular hotel has remained to be one of the choice locations when in Davao. The hotel is located outside the city proper, about 15 mins. from the airport, and right beside the Davao gulf from where you can see Samal Island in the distance. Rooms are located in 3 2-story wings and while they have been regularly refurbished, one can't help but notice the 1960's style of design. The breakfast is OK, the pool is big and warm, and the grassy grounds have a lot of coconut trees that provide shade.
While the place is generally good, there was only one experience when I got VERY disappointed. When we had lunch at the Cafe Uno resto, we had to wait for our orders for ONE HOUR!!! The waiter did say that the cooking time would take 30 mins., but one hour was for me a record of sorts. Good thing we weren't that hungry when we came but I'm sure many others would not have been as patient. So except for the buffet breakfast, DON'T eat lunch or dinner there.
The hotel might have a beach but unfortunately the water is not so clean so nobody actually swims in it. Their grounds have a big tent where wedding receptions and other functions can be held.

Casa Leticia: A Cozy Home away from Home in Davao
we had a nice stay in casa leticia. the rooms were okay, although the walls are thin you can hear the tv blaring from the other room. the service was very cordial. when we asked for a towel and tissue paper, the housekeeping lady delivered service with a smile. the receptionists were always smiling. breakfast was ok the bangus (milkfish) could have been better marinated but all in all i think the hotel gave value for money.
exellent location, across the people's park in davao, friendly service

Eden Nature Park: Nature trippin'
Eden is more than just a HUGE nature park, its an all-in family vacation park. There's a lot for everyone in the family.
Accommodation are in form of villas and self-sufficient cottages in various sizes for big and small families, out-of-town trip with friends and some cottages even with a cozy fireplace. Equipped with cooking facilities (by request) and the basic living facilities, it sure can make a vacation fun and family (or friendship) - oriented. For an option, camping areas are also available.
What to do here? Lots! There's a pool for some water fun and a fantastically huge playground with all unique playthings, ziplines, obstacle relay, and even traditional Filipino games like sipa. There are various gardens to see - an exotic flower garden, a garden of herbs, a vegetable garden, several nurseries, tree nurseries, etc. There's also a mini-zoo to amuse and excite the kids. Though majority of the property is man-made, a large part is let grown to a thick forest. You wouldn't realize it was an empty piece of land years ago.
For a minimal cost, take a multi-cab tour of the place to see all the highlights of the nature park. Do take note that you only see about a third of the whole property. There are a lot more to discover when you stay over. If you can, bring your bicycle for your own exploration. For those who prefer it, take the guided hiking and jogging trails and discover flora and fauna you missed and find hidden waterfalls and streams. A small lagoon is also available for fishing.
Oh, and don't forget to catch a filling, hearty meal from the park's restaurant.

Microtel Inn & Suites: Damosa Gateway Makes it Complete
We had an awesome time in this place. The Hotel is surrounded with a establishments, the Damosa Gateway and the Market Basket. We had good meals in the nearby resto at a very reasonable price and a good time at the nearby bars. There's also an acoustic trio playing on Friday/Saturday nights.
If you get ssoooo tipsy, no problem of going home because the guard can drag you to your hotel. Hehehe
I got tipsy and i fell inlove with one of the buddies i was with. damn...hahahaha
The staff are very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are clean and neatly prepared.
The linens smells good too. The buffet breakfast is good enough too.

Casa Ruby Bed and Breakfast/Pension House: Davao City Cheap (inexpensive) Hotel
I have enjoyed and stayed at Casa Ruby. Many don't know about this place. The staff there a really nice and easy to get along with. They have always been helpful. For those that don't want to stay in a hotel, pay much higher prices, or stay in a more homey atmosphere, Casa Ruby will fulfill those goals.
It definitely has a rather good location since it is very close to the city proper yet located in a non-business area. The closest major intersection is Mabini St. and Circumferential roads. One of the really nice benefits of staying there will be easily getting a taxi or tricycle. It costs generally less than the US dollar to take a taxi to three different malls.
They also have community areas that provide for more room to relax and enjoy your stay. They have a karaoke machine that offers really good sound for those that want to enjoy it. At times, guess can play the piano also. Internet access will also be available to guests.
The place is very secure since they take very good measures to keep the place locked while also having a security guard at nighttime. Staff live on the premises so getting help with various needs can be readily done. Also, getting your laundry done is available.
Free breakfast comes with every room for your night's stay.
The price range for rooms ranges from 850 to 1300 pesos per night.
They have a website.
oh..and..No Smoking from what I have seen
They also have long-term rates that will be much less than the nightly ones. Generally you need to stay at least a month to get those rates.

Humberto's: homey little hotel
Humberto's is a quaint little hotel at Davao downtown area but not so downtown-type since it's located in a residential street about 2 blocks from the land-marked Marco Polo hotel and Aldevinco Shopping area. It's a homey 3-story place and give the feeling of a bed and breakfast rather than a hotel. Staff are very friendly and place very neat and clean. Will stay there again when i go back to Davao.
Hotel has an in-house restaurant that offers asian cuisine. Not much view since its in the downtown area, not much parking except the side of the road. No pool, no garden. Free wifi service at the lobby and restaurant.

Waterfront Insular: for the international tourist
First class hotel with sprawling 560-room complex. Fantastically spacious including the rooms and the whole hotel area shaded in a coconut tree lined property. Service teams were very attentive to guests' needs. The place was so quiet i almost missed my schedule on things to do. Buffet breakfast should not be missed!
Great place to go swimming in their large oval pool. Beachfront great to go walking on, of jog around the property, of go sunbathing. Place surely suited for families, group trips, or conferences. Beach not great as sand is gray. Tribal weaving, i learned, are during weekdays only.

MARCO POLO HOTEL DAVAO: MARCO POLO DAVAO : LIVING UP TO ITS NAME!
Centrally located in Davao City, everything is within a short reach : Wharf, Malls, Churches, Aldevinco, Ateneo de Davao, restaurants, sights, etc. Rooms are beautifully and comfortably appointed. Beautiful views of the mountains, Davao Gulf and the city depending on where your room faces. Lobby Lounge and Eagles Bar located on the ground floor offer relaxing music and drinks for weary travelers. Security is tight such as one gets frisked everytime one enters the hotel. Security takes note of plate numbers of taxicabs for everyone's protection which is a plus. Downside is there are still no free wifi connection in any part of the hotel. You need to pay P500 for 24 hours internet connection in your room.
