Probably the best and as I have heard the biggest hotel in the city situated in the central part of Gensan near the Gaisano mall and not far away from KCC mall where a man can find a lot of attractions like movie theaters, shops and fast food outlets. I really enjoyed the hotel room equipped with a jacuzzi, a mini-bar, an air-conditioner, cable TV and a telephone (I will attach some pictures for you to see)and the friendly staff, the only thing that I didn't like is that a lot of moisture had been in the room and it never had a chance to 'air out', but this is probably because of the humid climate.
If you visit East Asia Royale Hotel and Gensan in general don't miss the housed by the hotel disco (called "Babes" or "The Babes") - it's the best in the city and there will be no entrance fee if you are a guest of the hotel. The nearby billiards bar is not bad either.
With everything said above I would like to recommend you this hotel as the best hotel in General Santos City:)
Let me just add that you can use the hotel free airport shuttle... it is literally 20 min driving away from the international airport.
Its great location and friendly staff, the Babes disco
Stay was ok- if you are doing business, since the room rates are reasonable and all major credit cards are accepted. Its smack in the middle of downtown city, making major establishments a shortride or walk away.
Has ok free airport shuttle. A respectable hotel, clean enough (through bathrooms may need a little more cleaning for water stains). Food is ok. Same owner as isla parilla.
Isla Parilla Resort Hotel is about 15-minute ride from downtown Gensan City and is situated along the National Higway in the municipality of Alabel, Sarangani Province. It's basically a man-made islet in the middle of a seawater pond. Spent the night here in one of its duplex cottages on stilts rising above the lake. Right next to about 20 cottages is a native-themed restaurant which serves the best "kinilaw" (fresh tuna cuts soaked in vinegar, spiced with black pepper, chili & garnished with cucumber) in this side of the earth.
The resort has separate function rooms for conferences (again standing on stilts), several karaoke bars, two pools (for adults & kids), an open-air barbecue-grill restaurant, a gaming gazebo (with billiards) and some Indian teepees for camp-outs scattered within its mini-forest at the center. People may opt to try fishing at their pond where tilapia abound and have their catch cooked and prepared by their kitchen crew. They may want to go boating too around the pond. The resort is quite undermanned though and altho the food is great (try their sizzling squid), service is slooowwww. Other than that, all these amenities together with the great view of Mount Matutum on the north and the mountain ranges of Sarangani on the east will make your stay quite pleasurable. And of course, the fresh sea breeze from nearby Sarangani BAy will surely destress you. Under development is their soon to open beach cottages at their nearby beach about 200 meters away.
This is the biggest hotel in Gensan (104 fully aircon rooms) offering very affordable rates. It has tie-up promos with Philippine Airlines dubbed PAL Swingaround. The hotel houses an acoustic bar, a disco, and a native-themed restaurant plus an arcade which boasts a pizza parlor, a videoke bar, a billiards bar, a convenience store, a beauty salon, a dry cleaner, two coffee shops, and a massage parlor. Each room's equipped with cable tv, telephone.... the works.
Located right beside a Driving Range and a newly opened Gensan Town Square and its numerous bars and pubs with nightly live entertainment. Across the road is the Gaisano Mall and the just-opened KCC Mall which houses most of the country's top designer shops and fastfood outlets. Combined, both malls have 10 moviehouses showing blockbusters simultaneously with Manila and the rest of the world.
