Lorenzo Villa - location
by KirstieC
Hi,
Been offered a good rate at Lorenzo Villas in Boracay. Don't mind being "out of it" a bit, and it looks like a nice quiet lcoation with all the facilities we want, but any ideas how easy getting to/from Whilte Beach would be? The resort is on a cliff so I assume there'll be some hills involved! I know there's the possibility of renting mountain bikes - was just wondering if its walkable also.
Cheers

Yes, you can rent mountain (or motor) bikes relatively cheaply, and I think Lorenzo also run a taxi service to the White Beach. You might have problems at night though, as all the bars and restaurants are a fair distance away, and you may not want to be cycling long distances on deserted unlit roads at night.
Hotel with 2 Bedrooms
by alexr39
Hi does anyone know of any hotels in boracay with 2 bedrooms or even 3?
I'll be going with my brother and a friend so I wouldn't mind sharing a room my brother.
The only ones I've found so far are Lorenzo Villa, The Strand and Sandcastles.
So far its looking like we will pick Lorenzo Villa because of the price and quality but the only minor thing is its not next to the beach.
I would be grateful if someone could recommend a hotel for me or tell me about the hotels I've mentioned.
Thanks

Lorenzo Villa is pretty far from White Beach, but I think that they do offer transport. Another alternative, also remote from the beach but with a pool and with transport available, is Boracay Hills. A third two-bedroom alternative nearer to the beach but a step down poshness-wise is Sandra's Inn. Orchids Resort offers something they call a "Family Villa", which I presume has more than one bedroom. There are probably other alternatives which I don't happen to know about available. Further info on the alternatives I have mentioned can be found on www.boracayinfo.net by searching for their names. I would suggest contacting the resorts directly to work out the details and make your selection.

Turtle Inn has nice rooms with interconnecting doors to the bedrooms, and Little Corner of Italy has family & group rooms. Tree House Resort is another one to look up.

We have been to The Strand Resort and I can highly recommend that place if you are speaking of reasonable price and good quality. Their 2-bedroom penthouse, where we stayed,I think is suitable for you and your companions. It is very spacious and you will definitely feel comfortable staying in the resort. Although not beach front, but its only a minute walk to the beach.I can guarantee you,it is located in the most beautiful part of the beach. And fyi, it is where the high end resorts are located but it has the cheapest price among them.

Did you check Lorenzo Villas south of Boracay?
Very beautiful.

Fridays would be my first pick (in terms of location, beach, food and service), but it's also the most expensive. Waling Waling is a nice hotel too, in a good location. Nami is luxurious, but also quite far from the bars, restaurants etc on White Beach - good for those who are looking for a more secluded place.

Lorenzo Villa's is very isolated too - not on the White Beach. Lorenzo South might be a better option.

Fridays + Nami - for a quiet, honeymoon-type vacation,(I honeymooned in Fridays)
Waling Waling - quiet but not too far from the gimmick areas. Wide beach front
I'd go for Waling Waling.
Travel Tips for Boracay Island
Magical Castles of Sand
by sirenna
If you are strolling on White Beach in the evening, you'll come across these lovely sand sculptures. Boracay's children start building their fairytale castles in the late afternoon, and after dark they light them up with little candles.
If you want to take a picture, be sure to give them a few pesos, especially as some of these kids are homeless.
Sunscreen Or Suffer!

Foremost - the backpack. A water-proof belt bag is also advisable so you can bring your essential stuffs like wallet and digicam anywhere you go. Clothing: Any light-colored and comfortable beach wear.
Shoes: No need, you're on the beach! Do bring beach sandals though. Ensure that your DIGICAM has spare rechargeable batteries and that your memory card has enough storage space as you would not want to miss many photo ops in scenic Boracay. It would help if your digicam has a water-proof casing so you can comfortably take pictures during boating and snorkelling. Sunscreen lotion!
Bulagog Beach, Boracay
by dorzlei
Most who visit boracay go to the white beach, puka beach, cystal cove... 'forgeting' to see what's in Bulabog, just a short walking distance from the White beach. This other side of the island is known to be "the Windsurfing And Kiteboarding Capital of Asia", might be a little unconventional for some but still a must-see!
Native Style Beach Bars
by sirenna
This little place is almost at the end of the White Beach. This part of the beach is much less crowded than the rest of the White Beach, and there is a good snorkeling area. Don't expect to be served cocktails though - their drinks menu is quite limited!
There are also native style beach-front cottages for rent (P500 per night).
..............UPDATE! This place, along with several neighbouring properties, is the latest of Boracay's beauty spots to fall victim to the relentless developers. The land has just been sold to a Korean corporation, who are planning to build another concrete carbuncle on it. Phil's Bar and Sababi have been torn down and a barbed wire fence now stands in their place. If you are planning to visit Boracay, better make it soon..............12/10/15
Handicrafts
by zippee about d'Talipapa
These items include baskets, bags, hats, placemats, and the like. According to the vendor, they're made from local vines and are export quality. We really liked the native placemats but didn't buy them, a bit expensive for P150 a piece.
Don't be an impulsive buyer, ask first for the price, compare with other shops and then buy the one that gave the best value for money. These items are more expensive compared to usual souvenirs (like shirts, key chains, etc), prices start at P150.00 and could go on until the thousands.
