Hello Boracay experts. Are there any marina's on Boracay. For example, if I want to take my boat from another island in the visayas, is there a harbor where i can dock it, get fuel, supplies, etc? Are there slips available for rent? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Marina's?

by sibbick1

I hope not!

Boracay is already spoiled enough without a marina.

Last I heard, there is still no pier. The boats pull up on the beach and you walk the plank to get off.

That for me is part of the charm of Boracay!

There is one huge pier that the banca and fast ferries dock at. Not sure if they would allow private boats. some of the hotels have docks, as they have their own Ferries, again not sure if they would allow you to dock there.

dock just off the island and use your dingy to get onshore to get your supplies etc..keep an alert on the weather, especially this time of year...

Travel Tips for Boracay Island

Buying souvenir in Boracay

by SLLiew

Bought some nice quality T-shirt including one that says "Life is a beach".

Also many colorful painted wooden fridge magnets of different coral fishes.

Personally, I feel that I should avoid buying corals or products made from seashell as this would deplete the sea resources faster than it can recover.

Undoubtedly most of the souvenir are made from other parts of Philippines for "Boracay".

During the monsoon season

by syllybabe

Most people avoid Boracay during the rainy months but I've discovered that this is probably one of the best times to go if you're looking for real chill time.
Even when it rains a lot, rare are the days when you don't get any sun.
This photo was taken right after really heavy rain last August before they came to clean the beach...still beautiful...and look...the sun's out! :-) Walking in the rain on the experience quite like it!

Boracay: Day off - a day trip to Panay

by boracayinformation

Staying on Boracay for a while and looking for an day off: A day trip to Panay is an promissing thing to do. Even it`s just across Boracay Island it`s definitely off the beaten path: Your day trip brings you from Caticlan to Laserna, only 18 km by good road. You can use any bus, mini bus or jeepney with the direction Kalibo / Nabas. Laserna or Horum Horum is an small valley with still existing rain forest. Big trees, large ferns, rare wild orchids, one of the clearest rivers in the region, really ice cold fresh water pool to swim in, a several kilometer long cave, called Basang cave, small trails to sleeping mountain villages. The perfect place for trekking or mountain biking. There is even an small family run Eco resort , called " Hidden Garden Paraiso" with only two nice cottages and one romantic tree house next to the large swimming pool. It´s nice to spent a night or two. Wake up early, enjoy the cold fresh air, clouds hanging in the mountains and start your own trekking tour. Visit an small water fall with natural pool or the nearby mountain village where the local women are weaving there mats. Watch out for birds, rare colourful butterflies and tropical plants.

if you don't want to shop in the palenke

by crazywabbit about 'D Mall shops

Because i'm a cheapo, I'd rather shop at the palenke (market) than here... Quite expensive than your ordinary market shops but the ambiance is a lot better here... It's a mall in the beach.. Whatever your heart desires. A little more expensive than the usual.
