best way to travel from kalibo airport to caticlan jetty port

by letam

Hi,

Are there vans for rent outside Kalibo Airport? Or the fare is on a per head basis? Is it cheaper to ride a van than a bus? I'm traveling w/ my family (14adults+3kids)so a group rate is probably the best package for us.

any suggestion will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes vans are available outside Kalibo airport. I have used bus and van naman. Bus is quiet comfortable but van is not bad either.

thanks Lahoree!

BTW do you know what type of vans are available and how much is the fare/head? Also are the vans available till 6pm (as well as bancas from caticlan to cagban)?

Thanks in advance!

I think I had paid Peso 130 per pax last year during Aug. I dont think you will have problem hiring a banca at 6pm given that your group comprises of 14 adults.

If your departure time from Kalibo coincides with your flight then with out any doubt you will get a van from the airport.

Yes, there are vans available at the airport. March 2010 the van fare was P175/pax. Of course the bus fare would be cheaper, but I don't have the cost of fare now. If comfort and fast travel is your concern, you can probably charter 2 vans. Negotiate with the driver to get discount.

Travel Tips for Boracay Island

24/7

by NeverBeenThere

The island is beautiful!
I like it best in the morning when I can appreciate the sun, the water, the place..

When the moon is up, Boracay is a very romantic place.. the sky is filled w/ stars..
The fishermans' lanterns at the sea are like fireflies all over.. its just wonderful.

The parties all night are kinda too much.. I gotta get my night sleep too! the crystal clear water, the waves around 1030am, in the middle of the water me and my BF!

Take a hike!

by syllybabe

Hike up some trails that no tourists have tread before and you'll find places in higher elevations that offer a fantastic view of the blue water, the mountains in the distance and the green of the jungle around you.

BEST TIME TO GO

by Skye_Miles

Boracay is best enjoyed during the dry season (November - May). The rest of the year is also okay although the beach isn't as nice-looking (some seaweeds and debris floating around). Try to avoid going when there are typhoons because the winds can be quite strong especially in the beach front areas.

Travel by bike!

by bek_estanislao

Try biking! Mountain bikes can be rented for US$1.5 per hour. It's a nice way to explore the whole island of boracay. Just make sure that you have company or if you are alone, bring a phone, just in case problems may come along. When going north, make sure that you go inside Fairways & blue water. They have a nice beach there and a butterfly farm.

D'MALL AND OTHER STALLS ALL OVER

by malbari

Boracay has an outdoor "mall" called "D'Mall" located roughly between Boat Stations 1 and 2. Items available are mostly touristy-related stuff although it is a good place to reload on personal necessities as well (toiletries, film, batteries, etc). Be prepared to pay tourist prices however.

On the way, you will also run into many stalls, although most of them sell locally-made jewelry and similar sorts.

Most of these places have huge stocks of items with the Boracay namesake (ie. shirts of all sizes, refrigerator magnets, key chains, etc.) so you have something to remember your trip by.
