Going to a famous island like boracay is not that hard especially if you're a budget traveller beacause there's alot of place to stay in. Tan's Guesthouse is one of them. For 3 days and 2 nights stay it is really and affordable. For the room we stayed in, it is good and very convenient place, especially if you're looking for a place to sleep on and end your whole day activity outside. Facilities were okay, we have an air conditioned room, 2 beds for the four of us, with a shower room, a personal ref and cable tv. breakfast were included but you have to wait for about 10 mins for the service because you're not the only one that they will served, and you should woke up 6-7 am for that. Overall it is a good to stay. I just don't like the service especially their front desk, because you have to look for them and wait for them to come back.
Unique Quality: Actually, this place is not so big to have a swimming pool, it is really like an apartment with two to three floors with a lot of rooms. they have big rooms for bigger groups. Though it is like inside of the street so you don't have a chance to see the beachfront from there but still near the shore of station 2 you just need to walk for about 2-3 mins to see the shore.
Directions: From D Mall you have to turn left when you are almost in front of the main beach shore then walk straight for almost 2 to 3 blocks then turn left when you see their resto, then 3 apartments on left then that would be their guest house.
We have arrived at the guesthouse 15 minutes prior to check in time which is 12:00 noon. The front desk representative is very nice. He let our luggage kept on a safe place until our room is tidy while we stroll around the place. He asks for our contact number so that we will just text us as soon as our room is ready.
Our room is on the 3rd floor and free wifi. I thought it is only enable on the 4th floor as told by the bloggers on the net. The room is big with 6 beds which are comfortable, separate kitchen, two AC, one electric fan, three sink (two in the bedroom and one in the kitchen), two bathrooms, and complete amenities. However, the kitchen cabinet is filthy. The scent of roaches has invaded the cabinet with the cooking utensils inside. It’s really disgusting. We manage to clean this on our own because we cannot afford to be sick while on vacation.
To be fair, the guesthouse is almost perfect for a barkada trip minus the roaches. We stayed for 3 days- two nights, with a nice breakfast, accommodating staff, and home comfort for just 5,500php. We are so lucky.
I will recommend this to my friends who will be on a budget travel.
Unique Quality: I love the guesthouse’s rooftop which the breakfast will be served.
You can choose your ULAM.
Make your own coffee. My friends coffee sucks! they even share out of nowhere techniques on how to make a good coffee. hahaha.
Good for me I know how to make a good coffee.
Directions: Just a short stroll brings you to the White Beach, few minutes walk to the D Mall.
Our 4 days stay in Tans Guesthouse was great. Their rooms are simple yet clean. They provide good service! The staff are all helpful plus the owner is very nice. We stayed in a deluxe room w/ veranda at the first floor. They rooms have a safety vault for added security. They also have a security guard at night. It is not beachfront but it's very near the beach (30-45 sec walk) It is also near establishments. It is located in station 2 close to Dmall. If youre on a budget better check this one. You'll get your money's worth for it.
Unique Quality: good service
