My partner and I moved to Villa Paula from our dismal stay in Isla Gecko. Actually, all we did at Gecko was check in our stuff then we scoured the island for a more decent place to stay on such short notice. Thankfully we found Villa Paula Beach House. It's a no frills place mind you. But the place is clean and decent. The room is basic (aircon, toilet and bath, tv, refrigerator, hot water) but hey, when you are in Boracay, you're always out anyway! Compared to Gecko, the walk from Villa Paula to the beach front is really just several steps away. And the path to the beach is not dirty or depressing compared to the Gecko. The location is very near D'Mall and D'Talipapa which is fine especially if you like frequenting these places. The location is ok, just far from the nicer bars and restaurants by stations 1 and 2. The room rate is really very affordable so all in all it's a good deal!

    Unique Quality: Very good location.

Villa Paula is non-beach front but less than a minute walk to the beach. It is also walking distance to D' Talipapa (roughly 3 minutes). It is situated in Station 2.

The room is clean. It has aircon, TV with cable, refrigerator, emergency light, hot and cold shower, and a thermos for hot water. You can ask the housekeeper for free hot water.

Their bathroom is also clean and cute, almost perfect for me but it does not have a shower curtain (one of my pet peeves). So when you take a shower, the bathroom gets all wet, including the toilet bowl and the sink area.

The price is reasonable. The owner gave the room for P1,350 per night (off-season rate).

There is also a security guard at night.

Directions: Near Tirol & Tirol Resort and Nigi-Nigi Noo Noo's. There's an "eskinita" or narrow road in between these two establishments. Enter that road. It will be on your left side.
