Batanes Resort: Best Hotel in terms of Location

I did not booked here...because of some comments i saw on the write-ups regarding the place.....thats its a government run place......the hotel is not organized...etc.,

But when i was there..i visited the place......and here's my findings....

1.Its true....it is one of the best hotel's here.....aesthetically (rooms are a copy of the Ivatan house).
2. The view from the houses are magnificent.......
3. The price is Php 1800 or (40 US dollars) for a certain house good for three persons already

The best thing that you can do is to book here and get the tour offered by the Seaside lodge.......(For I know as of February 2011 there was no tour offered in the Batanes Resort)

If I get the chance to go back here again.......I will definitely consider this place.........:)

They have a very nice designed houses....immitating the Ivatan house......and the view is great.....

SEaside Lodge: LOdge at the seaside

The hotel is good
from the name itself Seaside lodge...
you will have a great view of the Batanes sea....
i usually take my breakfast there...nice view.....fresh air...... (i already missed doing my breakfast there)....ohhhhh crap........

i reserved for a room at the upper floor.....
but i got the room no. 4..near the counter..............( i think upper floor rooms were reaserved earlier by a group who will be doing their photo sessions)
at first i thought being in the lower floor will not give me a great view of the ocean....
but i did.......whether you are in the second floor or third floor...you will have a great view of the ocean......
for me thats the very best advantage of the Seaside....

Seaside has a restaurant at the ground floor...........
thats an advantage also...because most of the hotels here don't ......
you have to go outside to eat...
i saw other tourist taking their lunch and dinner here although they were at the other hotels.......

Staffs are very friendly..........
the food they serve there are good try the local delicasies.........venes etc.,

The only thing i noticed was that they changed the towel every two or three days...
if you want a new towel.......ask the lady in the counter....not once but twice hahhahahahahhaa..
she might be getting older and forgetful...hhahahahahhahaah

First You will have a good view of the ocean.......best place to do your breakfast ( ireally missed it)
Second......they have a restaurant within the building.....
they have a karaoke and youll be surprised they even have a disco ball there...........

Batanes Seaside Lodge & Restaurant: Comfortable Lodge With Scenic Views of Sea & Hills

I did a thorough research on blog reviews of real travelers who have gone to Batanes. At first, we had wanted to stay at Batanes Resort because of their unique lodging houses that were look-alikes of Ivatan houses. However, we were turned off by the negative reviews. We were choosing between DDD Habitat and Batanes Seaside Lodge & Restaurant which had positive reviews from photographers who had been to Batanes often. Batanes Seaside was the first to respond and the Manager. Ms. Lydia Roberto was so patient answering all our questions. Hubby's photo buddy personally experienced staying there when she joined Mandy Navasero's Photo Safari, so we felt comfortable with the decision to stay there. We also learned later that many film production staff and actors have stayed there.

Batanes Seaside Lodge & Restaurant served as our home during our 4 nights 3 days stay in Batanes. We were assigned a room at the 3rd floor with a balcony that offered a fantastic view of the lighthouse on Naidi Hills, the vast aquamarine sea and the "pantalan" (city port). Across the street, one can also see cows grazing on the hill. There are only a few rooms so the Manager and staff render personalized service. There is an in-house restaurant that caters not only to guests, but to tourists lodged in other places as well. They provide free airport shuttle, and they also have packaged tours. We availed of their package that included accommodation plus tours (Basco Tour, Batan Tour and Sabtang Tour). For 4 days 3 nights stay+tours, we paid only PHP 6,000/pax.

Nice, quiet place; comfortable room with room-side balcony to get a whiff of fresh sea air good for the lungs; hot & cold shower, cable tv and aircon available; backdoor entry to the black sand beach; relaxing view of the sea and hills; fascinating flicker of the lighthouse at night; home-style cooking of food; friendly staff...what more can I ask for?

Batanes Resort: Hotel with the Best View

This hotel has the BEST view of both hills & sea, just 30 steps down will be the beach. No other hotel can offer a view like this. If you open your window, you'll hear the waves. I would stay there again on my next vacation visit. Hotel is undergoing renovation when we went. Staff are friendly. It's a Php40 tricycle ride from town. We opted to walk to the town once, on a leisure pace and taking a few stops to pose for the camera and it took us abt 25 minutes. Php1,000 per night for a triple sharing room. You can contact them directly for reservations 0927-5829078.

Shanedel's Inn: VT got it wrong

On the strength of recommendations from VT members, we chose this inn. Maybe service has deteriorated with the changing of hands from the mom to the daughter but we were very disappointed. We had to ask for toilet paper. Our towels weren't changed plus the AC in our room conked out. And it wasn't that cheap. Pension Ivatan a few steps doen the road with tv and internet was cheaper.

The only nice thing about booking at Shanedel is their tours. They have a very good tour guide in Manny. Thoroughly enjoyed his anecdotes on local personalitites and local life.

Lodge: Batanes Seaside

The usual crisp bed, with private bathroom. They change towels every 2 days, but you could request to have the room clean everyday. They dont have a built in heater but they provide a portable water heater and there's outlet in your room. This lodge have 12 rooms, in twin, and triple sharing accomodation. The staff are accomodating, they have a tv set in the lobby downstair and upstair. But if you opt to have a tv in your own room , you can have it for 250 pesos.

Great view of the sea, It's why it's called the seaside. You can actually see the Lighthouse of Naidi Hills from the balcony.

PENSION IVATAN: BASCO'S NEWEST PENSION

Pension Ivatan is nicely located in town near the Provincial Hospital, Police Station and the Provincial Capitol. Rooms are air conditioned with Cable TV! Most notable though is that it has a restaurant that offers typical Ivatan food, Filipino and International dishes which makes it the only place in Basco where you could get a decent and delectable meal.
An aircondtioned double room cost from P980 - P1,100 inclusive of breakfast for two.

Try to get rooms on the upper level to get commanding views of the town and the sea beyond.

Sabtang Nat'l School of Fisheries: Your home in Sabtang

If you are staying overnight in Sabtang then consider staying at this place. On the 2nd floor of the Sabtang Nat'l School of Fisheries' home economics building are two 2-bed rooms and one 5-bed room. The rooms are immaculately clean. 1 shared bathroom.

Cooking facilities in the ground floor. They have a small corner selling Batanes souvenirs and post cards. Interact with the school kids as they go about their work. Tread carefully, there's a sign there that says "This is an English speaking zone" :-)

How much? P100 per person

Call Jesusa Cielo / Marites Agcaoili in the numbers below.

Ivatan Lodge: Maybe

The Ivatan Lodge is another government-run place, located on the 2nd floor of a warehouse-like structure. Lots of rooms on both sides of a long corridor. They have 2 airconditioned rooms. In the ground floor are an assortment of offices and shops.

Not a soul was stirring when we visited. Only the security guard was on hand to show us around. I had the impression that Ivatan Lodge is a hohum place. Maybe it will be different during peak season.

Here's the usual litany of room rates:
Single - P300
Double - P400
Triple - P600
Aircon - P1000 (2 rooms. max of 3 peeps in a room)
Family - P750

Batanes Resort: Great view

Batanes Resort is the accomodation with a view. And what a view it is! Its a government-run place that has 6 cottages with 2 rooms each. The cottages look like Ivatan stone houses. A room can accomodate 3 persons. The rooms were being renovated when we visited but we got to see one of the finished rooms. At the moment only one cottage has airconditioning (who needs them anyway). The Itbayat and Sabtang cottages are the most sought after because of the unobstructed view from within the rooms. So make sure you book these rooms for your visit.

The room rates:
Fan room - P550 (single), P672 (double), P764 (triple)
Aircon room - P800 (single), P900 (double), P1000 (triple)

The view. Cottages.
