Matabungkay beach resort: Worst resort
Worst is not enough to describe the resort. Please take caution in doing a reservation, policy is not clear and very deceptive. Too bad, i was a victim been charged to my credit card the whole night.
Very bad experience and i understand now why the reviews for this resort was super cons. Be cautious, don't be a victim! This is so terribly bad.

Matabungkay Beach Resort: Great pools and nice beach
We went to Matabungkay for a day trip from Manila, we did not spend the night there, but stayed at Matabungkay Beach Resort for the day. It has a nice big pool and a nice shallow one with a slide for the kids. We really had a wonderful day, and the place was way above my expectations. Even if the hotel was full with a group, we were the only ones using the pool and the beach (though I suspect it is packed on weekends, we went on a Thursday).
Entrance fee for the day is 200 P for adults (maybe more on weekends?), free for kids. Towel rental is 100 P if you forget your own.
The beach was clean and sandy – dark sand in the water, and lighter on shore. There are gazebos, but no lounge chairs. The ocean was beautiful: so clear, with hundreds of starfish everywhere, striped fish and strange 'fish snakes' hanging out within the algae.
Bangkas are available for boat trips, scuba diving, snorkeling..also pedal boat rentals available. There are also floating huts that you can rent for the day. Other activities: swimming, snorkeling and playing in the ocean (very shallow water), looking for and at starfish and colorful fish, sandcastles, swimming and sliding in the kids pool, toddler size chess.
We did not stay in or even see the rooms, the common areas are nice, clean, the restaurant looks over the pool and has pool side service. The food was ok (around 160-180 P for sandwiches and pizzas, 60-75P for sodas and beer). Very nice and clean pools, lounge chairs with cushions. BUT, locker room area is to be avoided!! It is old, run down, dirty, moldy and stinky. You’re better off showering outside.
