Part two of my pico sands hotel tips with more pictures.

although the Pico De Loro Complex is an exclusive beachside community and resort for members and guests, the complex aslo houses a hotel, called the Pico Sands Hotel, where guests of members can stay if they are not staying at the condominiums of members or company accounts by major companies who to team building activities here and also the occasional foreign tourists. Pico Sands Hotel features an outdoor pool, a fitness centre and a luxurious spa. A Main Restaurant and Bar, It offers modern spacious rooms with a balcony overlooking the surrounding mountains or lake. Free Wi-Fi access is available in the entire property. it also has 154 rooms and suits in 8 floors.

the rooms here are spacious and large (but expensive too, a de luxe twin room will cost you around 7,000 pesos a night, expensive by philippine standards). Johndel Beach Resort: Day light robbery

Unspleasant stay with Johndel's Beach Resort. The resort management robs you right before your very eyes. Room rates where raised to the roof during our stay there last easter. Facilities are not worth for what you pay. They will charge you with entrance fee in addition to your room rates. If you are bringing food and drinks this will have an extra charge. They have a restaurant though, but the price was about 10 times higher. Separate charge they ask for rice cooker and water heater. We paid for our towels when they got dirty with the ink they stamp on your arm when you check in, the staff will invent an excuse just to make us pay for it. The beach was over crowded and dirty, You can not find any body/resort staff cleaning the beach. We have to hire a boat to go to a cleaner beach nearby. By any means please avoid staying at Johndel. Do not spoil your precious time with them.

Some staffs and locals are very accommodating.

Canyon Cove Beach Resort: Canyon Cove: Nice cove in nasugbu

This resort is a bit expensive, offering P800.00 day tour rate. This is more of a residential resort where you can opt to buy units and stay there when you're in a vacation. There is a swimming pool and the beach is white sand, blue water.

Canyon Cove Residential Resort: Paradise Surprise in Nasugbu

We weren't really expecting much about Canyon Cove, and we were very pleasantly surprised with what we saw when we got to the place.

First is that it's very near and nicely located...it's the first along the stretch of resorts that includes Punta Fuego. The lobby was newly renovated, with high ceilings, and a grand view of the huge infinity pool and the sea at the far end, which opens out to two grand staircases leading down to the pool deck.

The rooms are tastefully decorated and the bed and linen are very soft and comfy. Very nice are the window beds where 2 kids can sleep in. Adults can actually even sleep in it, too! We had a 1-bedroom unit, which included a living area with a window bed, a terrace with a wonderful view of the pool and ocean, a kitchen and dining area with its own toilet. The bedroom had its own toilet and bath with a bathtub and separate shower enlosure, another terrace and another window bed. Really nice!

The infinity pool is huge. If you've been to Plantation Bay in Cebu, it's like a miniature version of that. It's not salt water, though (it is, in Plantation Bay). There's another smaller pool on the far end, which is exclusively for unit owners. A few steps off and you're on the beach, which has light gray sand. (People in the area tend to pass off the place as having white sand, but nothing compares still to the white sand in Boracay) So, for me, it's not white sand...but not bad, either :) The beach is clean, litter-free, long and wide, just the way I like my beaches :)

So, overall, the place is very good...except for the food, which was quite pricey, considering the very few buffet selection. Breakfast was likewise wanting, especially since with the kind of ambience the entire place gives off, you'd expect to be presented with culinary treats and surprises...

Overall, though, it's worth going back to again and again :)

The place is very relaxing, non-crowded (there isn't anyone there during weekdays...weekends are nice, since you don't feel so alone, but you don't also have that crowded, congested feel Boracay gives you these days). The rooms are very nice with great views of the pool and the sea. The staff are as helpful and as courteous as you'd expect. The price, however, is the best thing, I think. It's very reasonably priced, with day tours at PHP200.00 per head! The neighboring resort, Munting Buhangin charges PHP250.00 per head (this was 2 years ago, at that), and the place is probably not even an eighth of what Canyon Cove is. Oh, and the units are for sale, too...and unit owners get revenues from unit rentals every year...it works as a time share.

Lastly, they have a limited beach club membership, which is likewise very reasonably priced, considering all the perks that it offers...we actually got this :)

Very much worth the money spent!

Canyon Cove Resort: Family Friendly Budget Resort

Canyon Cove is a Mid Price Combination of Residential and Commercial Resort in Nasugbu, Batangas (the high ends are Terrazas de Punta Fuego and Pico De Loro), the complex offers both conominiums and condotels for rent and for sale. Canyon Cove offers lots of recreational activities like parasaiing, jet ski, mini golf, scuba diving, etc. Although the sands of Nasugbu are not white but gold, this area is an alternative to people who cannot go to Boracay or Other Beach Destinations outside of Luzon island due to soaring oil and plane prices.

The rooms are very large and have a sofa bed near the window as extra bed. The restaurant offers international meals (average at least) and the place also organizes nightly beach and poolside parties! Rooms at the condotel starts at 5,000 pesos a day and at the Condominums at 10,000 pesos a day.

Munting Buhangin Beach Resort: One Of Batangas' Finest

It's not Punta Fuego (the exclusive beach resort in Nasugbu which is its neighbor.) but since they share the same shore, why spend more right? It has tree-houses, large family rooms with built kitchen, studio type rooms which can accomodate 4-10 people which has a veranda over looking the sea and small cottages for those who will not spend the night. The rooms are spacious and clean.

JohnDel Resort: Visiting in Nasugbu, Batangas?

JohnDel Beach Resort
25 A.R. Apacible Blvd. Nasugbu, Batangas, Philippines
Tel. no. (063) 43 - 9311387; 2162228
Telfax no. (063) 43 - 9311296
Contact Persons: Josie or Fe
(data above from http://www.nasugbu.gov.ph/beaches.htm )

The Resort was about 5 minutes drive from the town proper. The street where it's located was lined with many other resorts, but we ended up at JohnDel Resort. We stayed in a room for 4 people (we were 6) with 2 queen-sized beds, a bathroom, a TV and a refrigerator. The room cost about 3,000 to 4,000 pesos in the peak months of March to May. I think we got our room for 3,500 pesos after haggling. About the room facilities, the beds had clean, odorless sheets; the bathroom was moderately clean and crude; the TV had cable but some channels were static and visible channels were a bit unclear; the ref was inefficient (can't really cool beverages to ice-cold) and it stank like uncooked meat. they provided towels, but some of the towels smelled bad. Some rooms had tables and benches outside and these were oftentimes dusty. The resort was facing the South China Sea, so the waves were a bit strong, and the sand was grayish yellow. The beach was littered with trash, so i wouldn't suggest swimming there. The resort had a clean restaurant that served breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and cocktails and liquor, though their prices were a little overpriced compared to other restaurants outside the resort. the food was so-so. It also had a swimming pool and slides with an on-duty lifeguard, but the pool was only usable until around 9pm.

Overall, Johndel Resort passes muster, but i recommend hiring a boat in Nasugbu pier to go to cleaner, whiter, and more scenic beaches.

It had weird statues of mostly boys in briefs/trunks. These weren't really pleasing to the eye...

Club Punta Fuego: High Life at Nasugbu

Most of my travels are for business (i just love junkets!) and on my own, it would've been hard to get in Club Punta Fuego in Batangas... Not that I can't afford it. Guests need an endorsement to get in, not just money. Afterall, it is a club, not just a hotel or resort. This is the batangas playground of Manila's elite. Sort of the Hamptons of the Philippines. And much as I'd like to showcase my paparazzi pics of some CEOs and politicians, I won't. (I can't afford to get sued, and besides, it will be so de classe, dahlings!) So I fumbled about, trying to fit into the nautical look of the whole scene... Unfortunately, our group came in by car and not the usual mode of transportation (yachts!) so my pics are all landlocked.

To tell you frankly, the food is not that great... I could get better stuff in Glorietta Fast food center. But the place has its charm... The infinity pool is quite lovely, it seems to flow seamlessly into the sea. The little wharfs and guard posts per cliff are quaint. The rooms are lovely, and at least has satellite TV to connect you to the rest of the world. And the bathrooms! The bathrooms lead to a small garden enclave... It gives you a feeling of taking a bath in the open... And if you're a rather modest person... You'll be taking your shower really fast!

Terrazas Punta Fuego and Peninsula de Punta Fuego: Spectacular Seaside Community

We stayed in one of the casitas in Peninsula de Punta Fuego. Very nice place. Each casita had two queen-sized beds. The room was very spacious and the bathroom had this pocket garden, making the place even more relaxing and serene.

The resort had an infinty pool, overlooking the sea. Very nice view.

Maya-maya Dive Resort: A hidden resort

we had a pleasant stay at this resort. The room had the basic necessities - an aircon, 2 beds, a toilet with hot and cold shower. The room is large enough to accomodate about 4 persons. they have smaller rooms for 2 persons. Food is not really bad but not so good either. There's ample parking for guests. There's a rocky part just in front of the resort where we viewed some shells and other shallow water creatures.

It has a swimming pool and has a nice boat ride to the beach. they have a volleyball court and other facilities including a pool table. It also has a spa,
