Land of Tarsiers and Chocolate Hills
by npamo
From tagbilaran we were able to take a mini-bus going to Alona Beach in Panglao Island. The bus terminal is located near the museum. Maybe you can ask aound where the mini-bus terminal going to Panglao is. You can ask the conductor what time the last trip is so you can catch it going back to Tagbilaran. There are a lot of cars for hire going back but its quite expensive. We were lucky to catch a tricycle going back and was able to haggle about the trip cost.
A car hire i think costs P1,500 - 2,000 for a whole day. Sites to be visited include Chocolate Hills, Tarsier, Baclayon Church, man-made mahogany forest, Loboc river cruise, the blood compact site and of course some souvenir shopping.
going to bohol? you can take a plane directly to tagbilaran or via cebu then take a supercat to tagbilaran. check out http://npamo.multiply.com/photos/album/107/Bohol_-_14-16_July_2007

chocolate HILLS tour the experience that i liked or even loved most in bohol was during the countryside tour or the chocolate hills tour..it was a good day to start the tour as the sun was out. our driver, came on time . our first stop was blood compact shrine.Oh, i could say that boholanos are truly friendly.. next stop, BaclaYon church and museum.. i am impressed of how the people/workers there preserved the icons/images of saint's and other stuffs. good job! then, we pass by the man made mahogany forest. it was really cool. felt so relaxed passing through the long and nice mahogany forest. and then we have our lunch at loboc river.we were on a floating restaurant.. wow! food- very sumptuous! don't miss the lunch.. then we were able to see the tarsier.. our driver explained that tarsiers are not monkeys. they are primate... then my fave, the chocolate hills!Fantastic view! it was such great to see God's creation bestowed on the Boholanos! i want to take this time to thank travel treats tour service especially ms che for helping us (09216303334).
The eighth wonder of the world?

Bohol is famous for the natural Hills, hundreds of them, which in a specific season turns brown like Hershey's Chocolate Kisses, hence the name Chocolate Hills.
To be able to see them, we have to climb up the stairs which has 200 steps or more, I think. So by the time we get to the top we were sooooooo out of breath! But the view is spectacular. Ring the bell from the bell tower, throw a coin and make a wish, then check out the view!
To be able to remember the Chocolate Hills, aside from taking pictures, buy their Peanut Kisses also. It's Bohol's native delicacy, each peanut is shaped like, well, Hershey's Chocolate Kisses.
Swimming

This resort is not very touristic and its an Island so, scuba diving and anything to do with the water are very much great in here. The place we stayed also has a swimming if you have babies with you! Walking to the lovely white sand with my hubby!
Transport for Bohol tour
by melek02
The most popular activity to do in Bohol island is island tour.
I want to recommend good rent a car in Tagbilaran town (recommended also by lonely planet :).
I arrived to Tagbilaran by speed boat from Cebu in the evening and the only one travel agency or rent a car I could find at 8 pm in the town was NF transport and tours.
They have good prices, I have paid for car 1 800 Php (40 USD) including driver and petrol, actually they charge this money for 8 hours and if you will use it more then 8 hours you have pay little bit extra, but 8 hours more then enough to see all sight in Bohol.
The car was new (2-3 years old, which is considered new for Philippines), very clean with English speaking driver who knew all the sites, and he arrived to my hotel earlier then expected time (you will understand the time issue then you will arrive to Philippines haha).
I can highly recommend them.
You can find their visit card in attached picture.
