7 hours in bohol
by traveller711
I have only 7 hours to go around Bohol and will cut most of the places to do/go to just 3:
1) Chocolate Hills
2) See Tarsier
3) Dumaluan Beach
- Can I just flag a taxi to go to chocolate hills and see the tarsiers before dropping us off at dumaluan beach for the rest of the day? If not, what is the next best thing to do?
- Does dumaluan beach resort offer daytime room accomodation?
- Other suggestions?
Thank you very much in advance

Here is the thing with a Bohol day tour,
to get to the Chocolate Hills from Tagbilaran City, you have to pass all the other "standard" attractions such as
- Blood Compact
- Baclayon Church and museum
- Man made forrest
- Floating restaurants on the Loboc River
- Multiple Tarsier sanctuaries
- Butterfly Sanctuary called Simply Butterflies
Plus the bamboo hanging bridge over the Lobac river is just a very very short detour off the main road.
So, you might as well do the whole tour.
Instead of a taxi, you could consider hiring a van for 7 hours. There are many drivers waiting at the pier to take you on a tour. The tours are not set. You can decide where to go. Including stopping for an extended period at Dumaluan Beach Resort.
Of course Dumaluan can let you have a room just for a few hours but I have no idea how much you will pay. If you want, you can contact them. Their website is here

Where will you be coming from? If from Cebu, I suggest you take the ferry to Tubigon instead of Tagbilaran. Carmen (where chocolate hills is) is closer to Tubigon (1 hour or less) than Tagbilaran (about 1.5 to 2 hours).

Thank you for your replies. I had been to Bohol and was just wondering if there are better alternative.
I'll be coming in by plane which arrives 930AM at tagbilaran airport. maybe i'll just rent a car to zoom all the way to chocolate hills then get lazy all afternoon in Dumaluan beach..

Travel Tips for Bohol
Amazing beaches for scuba diving and eating!
by yen_2
We went in Bohol last May 2001 with hubby though I've been this place many times but this one is very much important since I'm with my hubby! The place is very peaceful, quiet and you can relax more from the bustling traffic in the city. It's not very touristic too so, we really did enjoyed! Looking the lovely sunset from our villa..

Things to SEE & DO in Bohol
by risse73
Here are several tips on "what to see" and "what to do" in Bohol:
1.) do a tour of Tagbilaran city
2.) visit Baclayon church
3.) visit the historical Blood Compact site
4.) see the endangered tarsiers of Bohol
5.) stay in Panglao island
6.) see the famous Chocolate Hills
7.) try these sweet delicacies: "peanut kisses" (peanut-tasting sweet treat shaped like Hershey's kisses and "calamay" (a sticky sweet treat that's packaged in a coconut shell)
Enjoy beautiful Bohol! The perfect white sand beaches of Panglao, fresh air, clear/blue skies, fresh seafood, boating/sailing, and the warmth of its people.
Chocolate Hills
by namiewa
Mostly people who first see the pictures of this scenery can hardly believe that these hills are not a man made relic. There is no natural formation like this in the world and the shaped almost the same sized where everyone love it. (I do love it) . In between the hills the flat lands are cultured rice field and coconut field. People cant plant any of this Hills coz it wont grow. If it will grow probably it will die too in dry season.
...more to read! Read it above!. When I was a kid I used to imagine and wonder if we are able to eat as you know kids love chocolate. (hahaha). Its our history glass second grade and our teacher start talking about this Hills and I was like Ma' am since the Chocolate is big! So the ants are big too? (okay im just being innocent at that time that I always think food) lolz.
Cute EYES!
by namiewa
TARSIER! The smallest monkey in the whole world where you can find it on Loboc. Cute little monkey with the big eyes and tiny body and cute fingers that hold really tight to the plants. Oh! Oh! Oh! This animal is sensitive so, touch it gently.
...more to read! how i wish to get one of this and make as a pet oh they look really cute with their big eyes.
