by cruelsan

Bohol BEach Club really attracts most. Aside from the accommodation type and food, you really enjoy the sparkling white sandy stretch of the beach than others.

The best, aside from Boracay.

I read elsewhere that the Beach where Alona Kew has garbage in it. Is that so or just another demolition work?

Travel Tips for Bohol

Your stay in Bohol

by IamAThome

Yes I agree, Balicasag Island. It's the best!
For more info, You can ask Spencer. He was our local guide there. Check his Websites:

Enjoy!

Hi, been in Bohol just last week and I'm having so much fun with my friends and colleagues. We stayed at Bohol Beach Club. Yes it's quite expensive but i think it's worth it. The place is SWEET! The beach is FABULOUS!
We had a great tour guide/driver for our tour, Spencer. +639285484881. We actually got his number from one forum in the net and his got the best recommendations amongst all and he really is! You may visit his website. It's www.boholspencertours.com.
You may also get some driver at pier and may probably get a cheaper ones but i think it would be very risky. Taxis are also available in the City but you have to pay double of the meter if you go outside the City. Tricycles are also cheap but it's going to consume a lot of time because they run slow.
You do need a van if your only 7 people and below.Spencer may offer you the Innova. We actually used it since we're only 6.
I Say Bohol is blessed with nature and of good, friendly and hospitable people but... NO NIGHT LIFE. Enjoy though!

Poor Tarsiers

by thl

Because the Tarsiers are endangered animals, the local government has accredited 2 operators to operate Tarsier viewing areas. So, unless you travel really far, your encounter with a Tarsier will most likely be in this shacked area by the side of the road. There are vendors near the entrance selling souvenirs and then a few trees within this shack with 1 or 2 Tarsiers clinging onto the tree branches. Our driver requested us not to touch the Tarsiers and not to use flash while taking a picture as this caused the animals to get stressed and shorten their life span from 20+ years to 15+ years. There were no barriers between us and the Tarsiers so we could really see them up close but the negative side to this is, most of the tourists there didn't pay attention to the signs and kept touching the monkeys, trying to unravel their fingers from the branches and take pictures using flash. It was so disappointing that the operators of this didn't make an effort to try to even enforce their rules. Poor Tarsiers. If you do visit Bohol and visit these beautiful animals, please, respect them and keep your hands to yourself.

Bohol Trippers

by mintymint114

My travel buddy and I arrived at Tagbilaran airport around 2 p.m. already. We are quite hungry so we ride a tricycle to the 'BQ Mall'. (one of tagbilaran's shopping centers)
Later, the tricycle driver offered to take us to Panglao Island for PHP 200.00 (which is quite cheap already, coz the taxi rate starts at PHP 400.00) Though it tooked us aroung 30-45 mins to reached Alona beach in Panglao Island, at least we saved around 200 pesos.
We stayed at Bohol Divers Resort in a fan-cooled room for 1000 pesos/night. In Tagbilaran, we stayed at the old Ghia Garden Hotel in a so-called 'executive room' for 675 pesos/night. (aircon w/ cable tv but cold shower) Quite cheap but take consideration of the bedbugs that might bite you during your sleep, the noise coming from the main street during early mornings, the freaky feeling while walking on the main hallway. (Like we are the only people who check-in), and the establishment which needs a total renovation. (built in the 80's but obviously not maintained by the owner.) Holding and cuddling one of the world's smallest primate...the very cute tarsier! Cool Breeze of air while cruising the loboc river...( Coz I had a dilemma that the river will be as polluted as the 'pasig river' here in manila...But it's not! ) The cold natural spring water located also at loboc river...(accessible if you ride a small motorized bangka during you trip...) The 142 steps (if I'm not mistaken) before viewing the famous chocolate hills, and the excitement of seeing dolphins playing and doing their show on their playground which is the big sea!
