Although we stayed in Alona Palm Beach Resort, we had a chance to visit Ananyana for dinner. The reception area was not very impressive but the lounge area and dining area were very nice. All the furniture is by Kenneth Cobunpue - a local designer who has been getting a lot of buzz internationally as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt bought his baby crib for their daughter Shiloh. The menu choice, is a little more limited and slightly more expensive than Alona Palm, but quite good. The pool was quite small - almost like a lapping pool but this can be compensated with the large and much nicer beach area. Rooms are smaller but stylish and Ananyana has its own spa. There aren't a lot of rooms so there's a personal touch to this resort. We would recommend this resort as an alternative to those who are more discriminating with their rooms.

1.) you must see and have some scuba diving in the white beaches of Panglao, Bohol.
2.) must watch the Sandugo festival of Bohol.
3.) go hiking
.....Because Bohol is naturally blessed and its cultural heritage is interesting!!!
if you're staying in panglao, i recommend citadel alona.. they have fan rooms for Php 500/night, roomy enough for two and a good walk from the beach. they also have a communal kitchen. On the down side though, bathroom's communal too.
Whites and green is located just few meters away from bohol beach club and dumaluan beach, got good view of the beach.

There are several places in Bohol where you can stay. To avoid redundancy, I decided not to post here the hotels/accommodation I covered during my stay in Bohol. We went there on a tight budget and we were fortunate to have found this resort at Panglao. It's so far the cheapest accommodation among the resorts there. Only downside of it though is that it is located at the far end of the beach, and that there are a lot of boats "parked" at their beach area. We didn't mind though, just walked the long stretch and found a spot where we stayed and relaxed (at the beach front of Bohol Beach Club! Waaahh!!). Besides, we were after the Bohol tour.
Anyways, the accommodation is OK, we still had a pretty nice view of the beach.
I billited at Bohol Divers Resort last October 9-11 of this year. It is located in the eastern part of Alona Beach, Panglao Island. It is a beach front resort with almost complete amenities such as swimming pool, huge garden (for outdoor activities), beach bar, etc. It has a dive shop infront of it (Phil. Divers). Also, they have nice accomodation with clean bathroom. Rate ranges from USD12.00 to USD120.00.

you can book your flight thru Philippine airlines and hotel accomodation .make early bookings to avail of the lowest fare...
the hotel is nice and clean..its located in a long strech of white sand beach ...beside alona palm beach resort...its like in boracay your in station 1 and so many restaurant to choose from ..i really recommend this hotel cause of the good location n facilities and affordable....although most of the rooms dont have cable tv and hot n cold shower but u can request their staff for hot water in thermos if you need one...at night you can stroll at the beach or go for a pizza and on friday theres a band playing beside that pizza restaurant..
you can rent a van or a car for 8 hours for P2K and visit all the tourist spot in bohol...blood compact..chocolate hills...lunch at loboc river...tarsier..hanging bridge and the cave although i never had the chance to see the cave cause its not included in our tour package at PAL.if you still have the time you can try scuba diving or snorkeling at balicasag and find nemo there..
Wow!Superb!... more superlative words to describe this place! It's really awesome.. dolphin watching, snorkeling or just laze around on the super fine super white sand virgin island.
It's good that this place is not so commercilized compared to Boracay, anyone on budget trip can afford to visit this place. Unless you may want to stay in a nice resort. Like the first time we went there we stayed in Bohol Beach Club. And the second visit, we stayed in one of the resort at the farther end of BBC in Panglao Island.

any suggestion on cheap accomodations on Panglao Island?and how do i join a whale-watching trip(ie. where to look for,how much)around Bohol?
and does anyone know if there s ferry serving the routes Tagbilaran-Davao or Cebu-Davao?details r much appreciated.

There are many accommodations along Alona Beach in Panglao. You could try La Playa Blanca. They charged us P800 a night per cottage, good for 2 persons with own T/B, but don't expect anything fancy (you may check my Panglao page for a picture of the cottage).
For Dolphin-watching, there are small boats moored along the beach (a few steps away from the hotels/resorts) and you can arrange the trip with the boatmen. However, learn to haggle as they might overcharge you. Better, look for a group to join. This is what we did and we paid only P200 per person.
Yah, Last April dolphin-watching trips are like 2000-3000 per trip (depending on the kind/size of boat) and they allow like a maximum of 6-7 people per trip. Though usually, the boatmen do not organize a group themselves, so if you don't belong to a group, they will still charge you P2000-P3000 even if there are only 2 of you. Like what asianbelle said, we approached some boatmen and asked which group under 5 are taking the trip.

im loyal to alona tropical, its around 1400 per room, but got one of the best beach area in alona beach..
There is no tagbilaran davao shipping route. i know Super Ferry got a Cebu Davao trip via General Santos, once a week only. Sunday departure.
Sulpicio Lines is another alternative their trip from Cebu to Davao is via Surigao, Monday departure.
