Hope Homes: Backpacker's Choice

Me and my friends were in this Panglao Island, and we have no idea where to go or to stay, till we found this place, " Hope Homes " and it was good cause they announce to us that each of our room have free motorbike that we could use around Bohol. I was so excited cause me and my friends discovered the Province of Bohol with our motorbike and map in our hand, without paying too much to a tour guide who might will ask you for like Php 2,500.00. It was really good cause we have our own time, visiting to different places wasn't that limited.

Then during our night life in Panglao Island, the motorbike of Hope homes was really useful cause there are not so many transportation service that will bring you back to your hotel, especially to hotel which are little bit far from all the restaurants, bars, and club.

We're here in this Panglao Island to do vacation, experience the life in the province. The native style of their accommodation was so great cause we could feel that we are really living in the beautiful Island, it was so quite and peaceful for us. They have nice pool table that we could play and have our time pass in the morning. Everything here was great from room to service.

L'Elephant Bleu rooms and cottages: L'Elephant Bleu Panglao

It was a perfect stay for me cause the price is not high, they have nice rooms very comfortable to stay, they clean the room everyday, safety, the staffs are very friendly and approachable, breakfast here is not expensive at all, and if you will stay in those garden cottages... you will feel very relax and refresh. It is 3 to 5 min. walking distance from the beach but that is alright cause at least I could do a little bit of exercise, anyway the Alona Beach is free for everyone plus I am staying in a place near restaurants, pubs, shopping place and convenience store.

So much to say but I want you to go and stay with them I am sure you will be happy and satisfied.

The garden is really unique and perfect for when you want to relax... Plus in this accomodation you can have a choice of wine that you want cause I think they have it...

Alona Tropical Beach Resort: Tropics at the Beach

We stayed in Alona Tropical Beach Resort overnight and I think it's the perfect place for me - beach front, garden setting, native hotel rooms, swimming pool with privacy, not too crowded, an ideal hide-out to hibernate. ;) The service is good, we were entertained by the staff well and they are courteous. The room we stayed is quite ok, except that i was bitten by mosquitoes! We got the fan room and my friend opened the windows, so probably mosquitoes got in since there were plenty of trees and plants in the resort.

I highly recommend if u want to relax at the beach, with the tropics mood. ;)

Alona Tropical has a perfect garden set-up resort, nice architecture for the hotel rooms and its own swimming pool with jacuzzi. The beach front also offers a good view of Alona Beach strip since the resort is located almost at the northern end, away from the crowded resorts/bars/restaurants.

Pyramid beach resort Panglao: Pyramid beach resort (Panglao)

Hello!

PYRADMID beach resort in Panglao we went there in november 2010 for a week.
Problem we met is that Manager of the hotel with one collegue had the key to open the safety box in my room.
last day before checkout i had 1100USD in my safetbox in my room and then next day when i checkout i have open th safetybox and discovered that 200USD was missing!
The manager told me that it was impossible as she was the only person with another employee to get the key of the safety box... So obviously these 2 peoples are guilty but i did not get back my 200USD stolen and now i leave this Hotem with a sad end....
Becareful because after that experience with this Resort i have found in google in many forums the same story and so this Hotel already did the same practice with customers!
I warn anyone about this Hotel to really becareful.

good luck!
Chris

Dumaluan Beach Resort: best beach area and affordable

For me It is one among the resort that offers the best beach in Panglao Island. We chose the package Standard deluxe, 3 D/2N inclusive of Bohol country side tour and daily assisted buffet breakfast plus buffet lunch at loboc river floating resto. The package is just 2100 pesos per pax. But on peak season the rates are high.

The room is clean with cable tv that, hot and cold shower and ref. The place is not like a 5 star accommodation but it is acceptable for the price. They have their own Resto but their food is expensive so eat on DUmaluan 2 beside the resort instead which is far more cheaper but delicious. Drinking water is not free so buy on a store located at Dumaluan 2 which is far more affordable. Everything is cheaper on that store.

The pool is well maintained, there's always someone who's looking over to those who are swimming for safety reasons.

You can play table tennis(for rent) and mess with their parrot( calling you ugly). You can also sing with their live band at night on their dining area. Until 11 Pm only I think.

The place is peaceful , not commercialized and no gimmick place so it is highly recommended for couples, lovers, families and honeymooners.

My only complaint is that, they only have satisfactory customer service. You will book now and they will reply after how many days.

Great view
with tour package

Eskaya Beach Resort & Spa: Most Expensive Place in Panglao

I've received some queries regarding the favorite place in Panglao Island and the whole of Bohol of the supposedly rich and famous. I didn't have the opportunity yet to stay there, but my friend stayed at the Eskaya Beach Resort, touted as the most expensive place in Panglao Island. With her permission, I'm sharing her photos.

Alona Tropical Beach Resort: On the Beach

Located at the very east-end of Alona beach, Alona Tropical Beach Resort is relatively quiet, but still close to everything you need.

Rooms are equipped with aircon and TV, but no mini-fridges: If you want a cold drink, you have to head to the small store across the street, or to the on-site restaurant.
Restaurant food was good, but relatively expensive compared to other restaurants in the area, and even compared to other resorts in the area. Breakfast may or may not be included in your room rate, so be sure to check before you order.

The resort grounds are nice, as is the pool. Everything seems fairly new, and construction was still going on for a new beachside bar/lounge. Scuba shop on-hand made for convenience in the morning.

I'd stay here again.

alonaland: bohol on a budget? try alonaland

Alonaland is a great option if you want a comfortable place to stay in Bohol without paying too much.
It's not beach front property but it's only 5 minutes from the beach if you pass through Alona Tropical, which was my first option for me and my family. But a pool suite for 5 people at Alona Tropical would have cost me P6,000 a night while Alonaland had a family house for P2,000 and it had 1 aircon room, cable TV, hot water, a kitchenette with pots and plates, and a ref.
I was pleasantly surprised at how large our place was. It had 2 beds in the aircon room and 2 beds upstairs but since it got really hot during the afternoons, we all moved into the aircon room.
Be warned though that most resorts in Panglao, including Alonaland have rather salty tap water.
My only complaint about our house would be that the toilet area has no drainage so if you spill outside the shower area, the water pretty much stays there.

Very affordable. Rooms are cleaned everyday, they will even wash the dishes for you sometimes, though some pots were not thoroughly cleaned.
No pool but the beach is beautiful, the waves are gentel and the water refreshingly cool.
They have hammocks and a pool table, too.

Dumaluan Beach Resort: Panglao Island

Its about 4pm when we arrived at Dumaluan Beach Resort. The clean room is big enough for two, the room rest also was big. The aircon is not that freezing cold but you can sleep better cause its very quite in dumaluan. You can relax here in dumaluan beach resort, there is no night life here, just the pool where you can swim at nite. Dinner time, we went to the nearby restaurant offering fresh seafoods and its much cheaper than dumaluan beach resort. Dumaluan beach resort is beside Bohol Beach club and the public beach. No problem dining cause they have a restaurant offering variety of foods located beachfront.

Dumaluan Beach Resort has a swimming pool where u can enjoy the night.

Dumaluan Beach Resort: The Next Best Thing

The place was nice. Ensuite toilet and bath, aircon, cable tv, all the staples. The resto was kind of expensive for us who is travelling on a budget. Luckily, there are residential houses nearby who sells food that is within our budget but mostly grilled sea food which is actually great because I love sea food, but not when it is the only thing that I eat for two straight days. The place has it own pool which is just in front of our room wherein we can swim all night long if you don't mind the cold water. You just can't go the beach at night because it is high tide and the water reaches up to the the foot of the resto in front of the beach. I am not much of a fan of clubbing but if you are, it is a downer to stay here since they don't have any but I am sure the resto turns into a bar at night. Very friendly staff too.

Trudis Place, Panglao, Bohol: Cheap, acceptable hotel in Panglao

We stayed at Trudis Place last August 2007. Paid a total of P3,000 for 2 nights stay, inclusive of breakfast. I wouldn't exactly call this a buget hotel, as it was definitely not like you were staying in a hole in the wall. The room had a fairly new airconditioner, flat TV, dresser, closet and queen size bed. Nothing overly fancy. Breakfast was pretty filling as well. And the beach was a stone's throw away (although we ended up walking to the beach area right in front of nearby Alona Kew because it seemed bigger over there). That said, we thought we got a pretty good deal. :-)

Tierra Azul: Spacious Rooms Indeed!

Tierra Azul Beach Houses is a fairly nice accomodation along the southern end of Alona Beach. Slightly hidden from the beach front, the guesthouse's entrance marker is just a few steps to the left of the more popular Bohol Divers' Resort. Tierra Azul boasts of its spacious rooms and has friendly, helpful staff.

Aircon (ground level) and non-aircon (upper level) rooms with breakfast go for P1500 and P800, respectively. Discounts can be availed during off-peak.

Though the staffs are friendly and helpful, their availability is only until 9pm. The reception closes at this time and resumes 6am in the morning. The guesthouse has a small restaurant on the upper level facing the beach. However, it only serves breakfasts for guests.

Where to stay at you ask?: hmmm....Alona Kew?

Alona Kew is one of the most popular places to stay at in Bohol, located in Panglao along Alona Beach. There are lots of other resorts in this particular strip so make sure to book early to avail of the lower rates if you're on a budget. We had the Cottage Bungalow, its a Beachfront setting. Quite a nice place if you ask me, their service is good actually, we phoned in to order some food and and they were fast! They get an A++ for that. However, once you get to the restaurant, thats where the trouble start. Just don't expect too much. Another thing to note is that the water coming out of the shower and sink is way tooooo salty! You cannot possibly use it just to brush your teeth and when you take a bath its just like your back in the beach skinny dipping....lol The pool at night, actually around midnight is off limits, and if you try to sneak in, the guard will tail you...so don't be naughty...heheh We paid P3800/night twin sharing breakfast included, and an additional P700 per additional person, the room can accommodate upto 4, so thats about P1300/night/person if there's 4 of you. There's no additional charge if you have a kid in tow, however they don't get a free breakfast either.

relaxingly lazy: Bohol Beach Club

For people who love silence and privacy, i recommend Bohol Beach Club. I suggest you go there on lean season to make your stay as relaxing as you want it to..Bohol Beach Club is a very cozy resort and it's the best in Panglao..rates are from $60-300$, 1 whole day in Panglao is enough to unwind and relieve stress just make sure ur with a lover or great sets of friends so as not to make your stay boring... there's no nightlife, it's just gonna be you and your companions at your resort (on lean season). the resort has about 200 rooms and might still be expanding, getting a standard room is enough as it is still oceanview..Having iced cold beer watching the sunset in panglao is just breathtaking! Panglao Island is only 15-25 minutes away from Tagbilaran City, Bohol...very accessible to travellers coming from Cebu.

- very wide , big and spacious resort
- atmosphere is very nice: it sets amood where the resort is the only place to stay at in the island
-Divided into two parts: 2 reception desks: for less expensive and the more expensive accoms
-Food is fairly priced
-they have more than two pools
-"hammocks" & cabanas in front of the beach
-they offer watersports and dolphin watching
