Go Dolphin Watching!
Hire a boat and go dolphin watching. The whole day trip including dolphin watching, Balicasag Island and sand bar hopping would cost around 2000 pesos. The boats they have in Panglao Island are bigger and the boatmen are friendly. You would just have to get up really early to go dolphin watching. You would have to meet the boatmen by 5am to 5:30am so you won’t miss the dolphins. They come out really early before the sun gets too hot for them. Bring food for the trip or once in Balicasag Island, you can buy fresh fish from the locals and have them cook it for you with a fee of course. They also have sodas and rice available or even vegetables or other food. After a delicious lunch, frolic under the sun and enjoy the beach. You can go infront of Balicasag Island Dive Resort. The sand and water in this part are excellent. Clear and so clean. Locals would also ask you to go snorkeling or feed the small fishes in their fish sanctuary. I think that’s about 200 pesos per head. After Balicasag, ask the boatmen to take you to the sand bar. The place is a small private island with an unbelievable sand bar. If you stay there for at least 3 hours, you almost feel that you have it as your own because only a few tourists come there at a time within the day. You get a nice view of Panglao Island and even Mindanao. Fresh air, perfect sun, fine white sand and beautiful ocean!
