Money's worth beachfront accommodation
I definitely recommend this place for those who are looking for a great beachfront accommodation along Alona beach and yet working on a tight budget. We've been here together with family and friends (a group of 26 persons) and we find the place relaxing. The rooms have A/C and comfort rooms are clean though there's no hot shower. The owner is very accommodating to our needs. Since we are a large group and prefer to cook our own food, the owner willingly lend us her stove, kitchen utensils, a huge rice cooker and water dispenser. Queen size beds and queen size extra mattresses were provided instead of double bed.
We plan to go back to Playa Blanca, bringing some more of our friends and relatives for a great yet budget-wise vacation experience.

More than your money's worth
Plata Blanca is the cheapest accommodation in Alona Beach yet you get more than what you paid for. We stayed in a nipa hut that has 2 beds and a bathroom during our visit this July for 4 days. The huts come with airconditioning but you can tell dear Manang Baby (the owner) if you'll be using the aircon or just the electric fan. The usual rates are P800/per day for fan rooms and P1,300 for rooms with aircon. We were able to get the fan room for only 650/day since we stayed for 4 days and its not the peak season. The place is really quiet with beautiful landscaping full of palm and coconut trees and it also has tables and chairs on the garden when you just want to chill outside. I'll definitely stay in Playa Blanca the next time I visit Panglao Island!
Unique Quality: Unlike other expensive resorts in Alona Beach, Playa Blanca has no swimming pool but who needs a pool when you've got one of the best beaches in the Philippines a few steps away. Really quiet here and private.

BUDGET ACCOMMODATION IN ALONA BEACH
For pratical reasons, I look for beach fron resort without the usual trimmings when I will just make Alona Beach my base and go to other parts of Bohol Island. For this purpose, I always pick Playa Blanca.
Playa Blanca is one of the pioneer resorts in Alona Beach. Its main building was razed by fire in the 1990's and only the cottages remain. there are about 5 duplex cottages made of bamboo and other native materials. With the main building in front gone, there is a wide open space in front of the cottages.
Each room has the basic facilities like beds, closet, small table and a bathroom. It has air conditioning unit but you can specify whether you will use it or not. If you will choose it, the caretaker will open the switchboard and you will be charged with higher rate. It has a terrace where you can do some reading or simply appreciate the sea.
Unique Quality: It is a very quiet place, the place is clean and the rate is very reasonable.
During peak reason the rate is P600/day if you will not use the aircon and P1,500/day if you will. During off season, you can haggle and you can get the room for P400/day and P1,000/day with aircon.
