Surfer's diner: Neatest Bagasbas' beachfront
We stayed in the family room. No limit to number of people. Can ask for extra beds. We were 8 people in the family room. There was no shower but there was tabo and balde (pail) to shower. No hot/cold shower but there was aircon in the room. There is a balcony which was nice because there is also a place to sit and eat outisde the room. There is a diner below to eat breakfast/lunch/dinner. YOu can also ask staff to serve the food upstairs. You also have a view of the beach from there. Can also rent skimboard from downstairs. Most importantly, it's fairly cheap. P1600-1700 for 8people. Also, neatest from what we saw, because other beachfront places from the outside didn't look as clean as this one, we were not able to see though the rooms of the other places to stay.
Great view, good service (willing to bring up food), spacey balcony.

Villa Cecilia Motorist Inn: Daet alternative
the motel is brand new, although it is about 5 minutes away from Daet proper, and is already located in Basud (next town after Daet). this is a good alternative for those who seek clean and decent place to stay. away from the bustling city, all you hear at night are the sound of crickets. it has a security guard so you dont have to worry even if you are in a secluded area.
also recommended for couples (illegitimate) for wash up (3 hours stay). make sure you bring food and beer. there are no stores around for you to buy on something you need.
has dvd player, dvds are readily available inside the room.

Governor's Place / Tourist Inn: Good value beachfront inn
Governor's Place / Tourist Inn is a publicly run structure with 5 cottages, right in front of Bagasbas beach. Each cottage is spacious, with two single beds and a sitting area, plus a separate single air-conditioned bedroom with a queen-sized bed. It is ideal for large groups or families because of the number of sleeping provisions and the fact that the rate for this place is fixed, regardless of the number of occupants.
Although by no means luxurious, it has its own sink and bathroom and all the essentials for a stay along the beach. Bedsheets and blankets are provided, and towels are available upon request.
By far, it is the most decent place to stay at Bagasbas, although perhaps a bit pricier than the other places. However, the extra cash is certainly worth it in terms of the size of the accommodation and the fact that is right across the beach.
Beach front location, with balcony. Great view of the ocean. Good place to hang out :-)

Traveller's Inn, Bagasbas: No way!
Going to Bagasbas, I was looking for a decent place to spend the night. Because most google searches I had done mentioned Traveller's Inn as a place to stay, I immediately headed there upon reaching Bagasbas.
I fully expected decent accommodations. What greeted me was a run-down, poorly maintained structure, run by a lazy staff member. The VIP room, which I fully expected to be fit for a VIP was filthy and poorly maintained. The rooms had TVs but not a single one was working. The woman running the place didn't even want to provide us with towels (isn't that a basic service every inn/hotel has to offer?) and when she finally relented after we demanded some, she provided us with only one (there were two of us).
Pissed off with the attitude, we told her we changed our mind and were not going to stay there. At that point, she said that she would provide us with two towels. She could've given us 10 towels and there was no way we were going to stay there. I was not going to shell out P800 to stay in that god forsaken place that wouldn't even give us proper towels!
Although it calls itself a hotel, I get the sense it is more of a motel, what with short-time rates posted on the wall. Although it could be suitable for a backpacker on a budget, I think the fan rooms or surfer dorms along Bagasbas beach itself will prove to be better accommodations than this place.

Wiltan Hotel: Great value for money
The Wiltan Hotel at Daet was excellent value for money. It is by no means a five-star hotel but has everything one needs for a comfortable stay in town.
For a very reasonable price, I got a spic and span spacious room with air-conditioning, clean sheets and towels, cable TV, hot and cold running water with excellent water pressure, a breakfast nook and quick and easy meals via room service from the hotel's restaurant.
Hotel staff were polite, snappy and efficient -- within minutes of asking for assistance (i.e. fresh towels, room service order), an attendant would appear at the room with whatever was being requested.
I had a pleasant, hassle free 4 day stay at the Wiltan and highly recommend it to anyone who needs accommodations in the Daet area.
Has its own restaurant so you don't need to leave the hotel to grab a bite - you can simply order room service :-)
