Villa Paraiso: Great service rolled into one

Through research, I stumbled upon this gem. Villa Paraiso is not popular like Camiguin's other hotels like Bahay Bakasyunan and Paras BUT I can attest that this is a great hotel. We were not disappointed and we will surely be back or reccomend this to our family and friends.

The resort is new. You can see it from their facilities. Service is great, every request that we made were promptly addressed. They make sure that they follow our instructions to the dot. Our food were always served the exact time that we asked them and so is our car service. It's the little things that really make the difference.

Unique Quality: What's great about this resort/ Hotel is that they offer a complete package from hotel transfer, food, accomodation and island tour. It's a great deal! We had a hustle free vacation all thanks to them. They even helped us book our ferry to CDO without extra charges, that's how great they were.

Aside from great service, the look and feel of the hotel is just awesome. They have manicured lawns, a bar and a very nice swimming pool to hang out to. The room that we had is clean and new. Everything was just nice and perfect.

Paras Beach Resort

Paras Beach Resort is perhaps the most popular in Camiguin Island. It has a nice swimming pool which is exclusive to the guests. It also has a huge restaurant serving affordable & tasty food. You can have billiards & ping-pong here during your free time. There's also a bar for drinks. White Island is just across around 5 minutes pumpboat ride from here. This resort also offers tours around the island. Room can be as low as P1900 considering the amenities. I find the beach not inviting though.

Unique Quality: Nice swimming pool. Just keep those frogs away.

Paguia Cottages

Paguia Cottages is just across the well-known Paras Resort for a much cheaper price. The cottage we had is okay. I find it huge good enough for 5 persons. We paid P1200 per night. We were quoted P1500 but the owner is nice enough to let us haggle & give us discount. It has huge beds, TV & a refrigerator. The toilet & bath is good enough & serves its purpose. The only downside was during the 1st night, there were plenty of mosquitoes that we requested to have the room sprayed.

Bahay Bakasyunan: Going back to nature

We came to know of bahay-bakasyunan through a friend and we were very happy with our decision to stay there. The rooms are like nipa hut structures, we stayed in a standard room, which has two single beds. There is a small veranda outside where you can sit and relax. However, a much better place to hang out is the hammock just outside Cafe Cecilia.

We made our reservation through internet and the hotel was very efficient in confirming our room. They would however require a deposit for one night's stay and their bank is PNB, which doesn't have that many branches.

During our last night there, we decided to lounge around the pool area and ordered coffee and tea. Even if the cafe was already closed, the remaining hotel staff accommodated our request. They even opened the big umbrella, which we used to spice up our photos.

We were scheduled to take the ferry back to Cagayan de Oro at 4.30 am and we need to leave the Hotel at 3.30. Since it was super early to have our breakfast in the hotel, the staff happily packed our breakfast fare complete with mineral water.

Unique Quality: They have three hammocks right beside the big pool and over looking the sea.

Paras Beach Resort: Best Beach Resort in Camiguin

Paras Beach Resort was originally a Private Beach Front and Vacation Home of the Prominent Paras family until they realized that their place offered good advantages like being the nearest area to White Island so in 1995, they converted their place to a beach resort and like they say, the rest is history! and now, their resortis the best in all of camiguin.

Unique Quality: Besides the Large Rooms like the standard (cost 2,500 pesos) and the superior (costs 3,000 pesos) that are equipped w/ aircon, cable tv, bathroom, beach view, the resort offers boat rides to White Island (about 100 pesos round trip) which is a 3 minute boat ride away. They also offer tours around the island like the Katibawasan Falls, Sunken Cemetery, Mount Hibok hibok Voncanic Observatory, etc. If you are in Camiguin, this is the place to stay!

Cave's dive resort: Decent accoms right on the beach

Caves dive resort has a series of cottages that are well-maintained, clean and located directly across from the spectacular White Island. It also houses one of the branches of Johnny’s Dive ‘n’ Fun, a local institution. To be honest, most of these places seem more or less the same. Just find your most congenial host, best restaurant and go for it.
