In Manila , i was at the mandarin Oriental an i found it good. The price was resonable. The best Hotel in manila, so far as i know ist told to be the local 'Shangri-Lah'.

At the see, the is many good restaurants on the different islands. One is famous , very isolate and for people who like a vacation in style ' Ronbinson Crusue' and it is on the island of Boracay (famous among divers). The transport is a beet dificult. At fisrt you fly from manila to Davao, from there there is an about 2 hours trip by boat to Boracay, then again, you have to walk about 40 min. in the jungle.
The other one i know, is the Badian island beach resort, which is on the badian island, at the very proximity of the coast of Cebu. To go thre you flight from manila to cebu with the philippines airline (which is really not bad) and then you have two travel about 3 Hours by car through the whole island til you reach the coast at the sound end of it. then 5 to 10 min. by boat. This resort is little, has got no morethan 20 luxus bungalow (but not expensive ad a small but very nice beach. From there you can dive daily to the best reefs. The cuisine of the badian island Hotel is very reach and i found it very good.

Places To See During the Rainy Months-June to Nov

To add to those that have already been suggested, Cebu would be good to visit. It doesn't rain all that much there. You could go to Moalboal, Badian Island, Bantayan Island or Santa Fe. These places have great beaches and spectacular views.

Other places would be Boracay (you'd practically have the whole place to yourself as it is the lean season there), Carabao Island in Romblon or, if you want a really quick trip, the Corregidor.

I was only two days in manila and in my opinion it needs no more than that to see what there is to see. The city has not highlights with the sole exception of intramuros which is the old spanish town with part of its walls still in their places.
One our from manila there's the hideen valley which i liked very much. Those are natural clear water sources in the middle of the jungle. Ther is a nice resorts (but very simply one) near to those springs. One of the most famous higlights of Luzon (the island where Mnaila is) are the rice terasses in North Luzon. It take 10 Hours by car to go there and 10 H to come back to manila so you have to consider 2-3 days only to see that. It worths anyway because they are unique. Then Philippines are very famous because of their sea. Clear water and super reef for divers. So if you go to japan or to china and then you want to enjoy a tropical paradise, you're surly right in the filippines.
There is to possibility: The first one ist to go to the famus isalnd of Boracay. The very best beaches are maybe there. There is super resost there (but without electricity9 which is called the frida^y beach resort.
Another way to enjoy the see is the romatic badian island, very near (10 min. by boeat) th the coast of cebu. Ther is a vera confortable resort there, called 'the badian island beach resort' absolutely the best for pure relax. From there u can easiliy go diving. I had my best diving rigt there.

'No place like home'

This was taken early in the morning,
watching the sunrise from the beach and catching glimpse of morning mist just hovering a little above still sea waters.It's quite serene .I am not an early riser myself , but it's nice to experience odd occasions like it ,in more relax manner. This is our little beach,quiet but not in the middle of no where.The coastal area is right along Tanon Straight where Cebu Island is carved beautifuly and vividly across the horizon like a floating log,which you can't see in this pic.You can also spot 2 tiny islands off Cebu ,Pescador Island off Moalboal,and Badian Island .
Tanon straight had been known to have dophins and purpoises . It was noted there are about 11 resident species of dophins and purpoises as well as dwarf sperm whales found .Life in this village is very peaceful and quite laid back ,people too are very 'civilized' ,if this is the right term to describe.Dumaguete city is about an hour's drive from this village.
