Lit Up a Joss Stick
by freddie18
On reaching the top of the Taoist Temple, there are a couple of things that you can do so that going up 81 steps will be worth the climb.
First, you can light joss sticks, have your fortune read, or do some self-comtemplation. Better still, after doing all this, enjoy the beauty of the view of the city of Cebu. When I went there recently, I took not only the temple, but the view of nature. Beverly Hills, Cebu City
Cheap online airfares
by iclee
Check out Cebu Pacific website since they often offer promo fares plus fuel surcharge. All in that's less than PHP5000 for a round trip fare.
If you do not mind the no frills-pay-for-snacks flight that they offer then go and take the 1 hour flight at these budget prices.
They have funny games onboard which I sometimes find ill-timed. Bring me a $1 bill....bring me a picture of your mother-in-law....hehehehe
Crisp Pizza
by iclee about La Gondola at Waterfront
You have a choice between al fresco and inside the resto. We opted for al fresco to enjoy the evening air.
We were given bread sticks and foccacia slices to dip in the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I like doing this with freshly cracked pepper.
Pasta was delicious and pizza was served with the right amount of crispiness. Pizza loaded with olives, mushrooms and meatballs
Sinulog Festival
by allelli
The festival honors the child Jesus, called by the Spanish colonizers Santo Niño, which translates to "Holy Child" in English. Santo Niño, patron of Cebu City Philippines. It is a dance ritual that commemorates the Filipino people's pagan but was later incorporated into the Christian faith by the first native Cebuanos to be converted to Christianity . The festival features a street parade with participants in bright-colored costumes dancing to the rhythm of drums, trumpets, and native gongs. Smaller versions of the festival are held in various parts of the province, also to celebrate and honor the Santo Niño.
Boxing...anyone?

We were able to watch several title fights held at the Waterfront's grand ballroom. I saw one Joel "Bazooka" Banal knock down a Mexican 3x in 1minute and 18 seconds of the 1st round. The fight was finally stopped by the American referee.
Tickets cost PHP300 each.
Its not a regular gig here but if you do vist Cebu, watch out for scheduled rounds which they said happen pretty often.
