fine enough. nasa medyo uptown na yan, you can just walk to regency even onwards to robinsons and the new robinsons at fuente. yep, the pier is actually just a few minutes away as traffic in cebu is not like metro manila.

going to Talima, you can have fun connecting jeep rides (sometime matagal due to waiting for more pax). from Pacific Pension, you cross the big road and ride the 21B jeeps going to Mandaue Ibabao. tell the driver to drop you off at "hi-way" as you will connect to a jeep going to Punta Engano. On that second ride, just tell driver you're going to Talima, they'll drop you off beside Hilton and you walk the few steps to the pier. Mga P20 lang buong 2 jeep rides na. By cab, its almost P200 hihingi pa ng plus dahil wala daw silang pasahero going back to the city. Enjoy your trip!

"How to Make a Guitar" - Cebu's Alegre Guitars

by freddie18

I am posting here pictures on some processes of guitar making. I also have a display of the different materials used coming from local source and wood from other countries.

You will see here that the guitars were hand made. All these you will see at the Alegre factory in Cebu City. They will show it to you.

Visit Alegre Guitar factory, and have a look! The memories of the local people. Most of them are very pleasant, most especially our tour guide Eugene, whom I met for the first time. I am sure it won't be the last.

Flying from Manila to Cebu

by DJ_Rolo

When i flew from Manila to Cebu i flew Philippines Airlines. This was my first time flying this airlines. When i go to the Philippines i usually fly Cathay Pacific. Everyone tells me that Philippines Airlines is great within the Philippines. It was!! Service was great, the flight was actually on time and it was just an overall good experience. I believe i paid roughly $55.00 US for my flight to Cebu. One thing great about this flight, it wasnt full, so i could sit anywhere i wanted to...

Best Filipino BBQ!

by AlbinoPrincess about Larsyan

For a mouth watering taste of Filipino BBQ and hanging rice visit Larsyan. The BBQ there is better than any I have tasted in the States. It is very inexpensive. One person can eat there for $1-$2 U.S., including something to drink. Although it isn't the cleanest place in the world, it is well worth the trip. Lamit kaayo! (Very delicious!)

Fort San Pedro

by josephva

It is a military defence structure, built by Spanish and Indigenous Cebuano labourers under the command of Spanish conquistador, Miguel López de Legazpi and the Spanish Government in Cebu, which is located in the Pier area

Magellan's Cross

by schwein

Another attraction you may want to see is Magellan's Cross, on Borromeo street, right across from the city hall.

The great Portuguese seafarer and conquistador brought Christianity to Cebu, and planted a cross.
This cross is represented by a replica which is further encased in wood, which is available for public viewing inside a purpose built hut. This is because devout believers would often make off with bits off the cross, valued as relics.

The cross is important because of the symbolism involved... Magellan's Cross marks the incursion of Christianity into Asia, and symbolizes the advent of Western religion and principles on these islands. Magellan's Cross is a worthy destination not because the cross looks particularly interesting, but because it is the marker of an event which heralded the formation of the only Catholic nation in Asia.
