It has been such a long time since I visited, but I'll try to remember as much as I can. Here are typical tourist sights and some "things-to-do":

4.) take a picture of Mactan Bridge en route to the airport
5.) frolic in some of Mactan's beaches
6.) try the many wonderful restaurants in Lahug
7.) try Cebu's famous "lechon" (the locals will lead you to the best in town)
8.) visit the Lapu-Lapu shrine
9.) visit Magellan's cross
10.) visit Santo Niño church & the Cebu Cathedral
11.) stop by at Casa Gorordo
12.) visit Colon Street (the oldest street in the country)

what makes music and what not
by Yla
Cebu has a myriad of places to see but few has actually taken the time to watch how Cebu's well-known guitars are actually made. Learn the components of the guitar and how each part contributes to the vibrations that makes the music. Later listen to how each string instrument looks and sound and how not one guitar can be exactly the same as the next. There is actually a guitar for everyone, even when you never come close to actually playing one!
CEBU = seafood heaven!
by mai_oh_mai about Seafood restos in Lapu-Lapu
Cebu is a seafood gourmand's dream come true. There are a lot of seafood restaurants but most tourists hie off to a cluster of seafood shacks in Mactan. These "turo-turo" (literally, point-point) establishments sell freshly caught fish, crabs, mollusks, seaweed, and others. You choose from the day's catch and specify how you want each dish to be cooked: grilled, fried, sauteed, as soup, etcetera. A famous Cebuano dish is SUTUKIL (SUgba - to grill, TUla - soup, KILaw - for fish: raw, a la sashimi marinated in vinegar, lime juice, and pepper). Fish, big ones, are usually served sutukil style.
Don't expect fancy table settings. The amenities are very, very basic --- wooden tables, monobloc chairs --- but you get a great view of the marshlands and lots of fresh air. To really enjoy your meal, do it the Cebunao way and eat with your hands! Of course, you have to wash them first. I love Garlic Crabs. Steamed crabs sauteed in garlic chili sauce. The dish is a bit pricey for Cebu standards though.
Start your day off right..
by DJ_Rolo about Buffet at the Cebu City Marriott
The restaurant at the Cebu City Marriott serves an American style breakfast. Its actually pretty good. It is buffet style. They have pancakes, eggs, bacon, bread, fruit and lots more stuff. If i remember correctly they do serve some Filipino dishes also. My breakfast was included with the stay at the hotel, but i think it costs around 500Php. The servers are friendly and the place is nice..

by katkat888kit
