Shangri-La all over the world never fails to offer great service to their guests and the Shangri-La Mactan Branch did not fall short on that.. It is one of the best accommodations I had at Cebu. http://vitzy.net/forum/Cebu-Queen-City-of-the-South-t1300.html
The place is nice and new. It has an elevator (kudos!) even though the building is not that tall. We occupied their twin bedroom room. The room is clean and very comfortable. Plus its affordable!
aircon, own toilet and bathroom, toiletries, hot water shower, in-house spa!!!
Well, my companions for this trip preferred to stay at the Crown Regency. Purported to be one of the best in Cebu City.
Sadly my experience was not at all good.
1. The service was slow. I asked for my luggage to be brought up and waited for 30 min. still no luggage... I had to go out to a workshop in my casual clothing or risk being late. :(
2. The supposedly WI-FI capable rooms was not so. We could not connect and when I complained I was told to go to the 18th floor were they had an internet cafe which provided service for a fee.
3. Guests all had to go through an operator every time they needed service (no directory was provided next to the phones). I had to go to the 19th floor Club Ultima reception to request for soap and bedsheets because nobody was answering the phone!!!
4. The windows were full of streaks of bird poop making the otherwise nice view... well... sh***y!
5. The elevator smelled. Thanks be that the Club Ultima Lobby smelled of mint or I would have hurled!
The location was prime though. it was right on Fuente Osmeña, very accessible by public transport and in the middle of things!
This is a very convenient hotel located in the area surrounding the Fuente Osmeña Circle. The breakfast spread is good and they provide a lot of local fruits in the buffet. The rooms are clean but the access to parking is a little too hairy (very steep street access).
It has Robinson's Place Cebu downstairs so shopping is easily accessible.
Whilst the buildings are not finished on the outside, the rooms are superb. Newly decorated, each features a private balcony, kitchen, full size refrigerator, Cable TV, free high speed internet etc.
We booked the accommodation online via SDR's website (http://sdrapartments.com) We paid USD199 (plus 12% tax) for the room for one week stay. My partner and I were met at the airport by SDR's representative and part of the deal we had free transfers to the apartments.
Upon arriving at the apartments, we were met by the resident manager; Leelin and the luggage bellboy. We were whisked into our room and did the check in formalities - which only took a few minutes as I had filled out SDR's check in form in advance.
The room was approx. 400 sq/ft in size (much larger than most hotels I stayed in), had contemporary furnishings, practical layout, inlcuded a kitchen and a large refrigerator. The location is just a few minutes from the airport and marina mall.
The pool is approx 15 mtrs long. Stand out location.
We spent three nights at this resort. The employees are friendly and helpful. The facilities are modern but basic. For 1200 pesos per night, we had a room with a double bed, electric hot water shower, cable TV, screened windows and aircon. On the down side, the room was rather small. The CR was very small as well, and there was no curtain for the shower. So when you took a shower, you soaked the entire room. There was no place to hang anything--no hangers in the wardrobe, no towel rack in the CR, etc. For a resort with four swimming pools, it's almost unforgivable not to have at least a towel rack. We ate most of our meals at the resort. Breakfasts were 60 pesos including coffee, and dinners were 90 pesos including a soft drink. The office sells lots of snacks and rents various items. They have a computer in the office; if you buy an internet card, you can use dial-up from there, although it's very slow.
There are four swimming pools. One is for adults only and has two large water slides. One is a children's pool with a showering umbrella. Another is fed directly from the spring and has a small slide. There is a butterfly sanctuary, but I'm not sure if it's operational. There are also basketball courts and fish ponds. You can play billiards for 75 pesos an hour, rent a videoke machine or rent a grill for cooking out. Pinoy Dream Academy was staying there during our visit, so things were a little more hectic than usual.
One of the best places in Cebu..... it's unique. A mountain spring resort located at tubod, Minglanilla Cebu, Philipines.
Great room accommodations at a very affordable price:
they offer discounts for weekly stay

great room accommodations,
people are friendly,
There are 2 wings - east and west. This resort is among the first (if not the first) 1st class resorts in Cebu. Great Accommodations and great food. It's clean and the staff are ready to serve you anytime. the Beach is white but this is man-made though.
has a pool and loads of other activites (jetski, volleyball, etc. etc. etc.)
The staff is super friendly. The one manning the reception desk did not hesitate giving us tips getting around the city. They were patient enough to help us figure out taking the jeepneys (the jeepneys have number codes). And the rate is really budget-friendly, we just paid PHP 500 for one-night stay. The room is non-aircon and good for three... though it only has a common toilet and bath, but that's just a superminor setback. There is one bed for each of us, so that's super bargain.
I stayed at the Holiday plaza hotel on 5th floor.
I had a queen size bed, ac control, mini fridge with drinks and dried mangos a corner room with large bay window with views of city, a small tv with 14 inch screen with hbo and other tv channels they also have a Cebu channel of the citys nightlife and places to see and do on TV.
There is a rooster who woke me up around 4or 5 am every morning nearby the property.
They include a free breakfast buttef from 6am to 10 go early and try the fresh mango.
They also have a roof top resturant go to 8th floor walk up the stairs pick your food they Grill or fry your choice, Try the mango shakes really great. They also have a bar if you just want a beer and enyoy the view, Great for fireworks during the Sinulog festival when i was here.
Upon airport arrival was greeted with drink at airport while picking up my baggage. Even persons not with my tour were offered drinks while waiting for baggage.
Then given Sinulog event schedule and dinner and coupon discount cards to use at Ayala and SM shopping mall.
The Hotel I stayed at has a roof top seafood place to eat with nice views of city.
This resort hotel is big,it covers an area of 8 hectares of land. The facilities are nice, the staffs are friendly and courteous. The food is great also.We booked a two bedroom suite and spent more than US$300 for that but we got our money's worth.
In the cebu, there are not much resort to choose. Shangri-la is one of the best resort.
They provide shuttle bus service (to airport / cebu city ) , once you are their cusomter.
The breakfast is wonderful, you shouldn't miss it.
For the beach, it is not suitable for swin in low tide, but very nice in high tide (morning).
I stayed here overnight and I must say this place is absolutely convenient for business travellers and for those who want to enjoy the city (shopping and dining). Tourist spots like the Magellan Cross and Fort San Pedro are within easy reach via taxi.
Hotel is located within the business park (lots of greens) and is a few meters away from Ayala Center (a shopping mall with international brands).
Room has iron and ironing board
Inroom electronic safe for to stash away your important documents/cash
Coffeemaker for those caffeine lovers
Overall it was a great experience. Like most hotels in the PI your luggages, purses, etc. are screened. It's a nuisance but it's for everyone's safety. The hotel is within walking distance to Ayala Center which was visible from our hotel room. The hotel staff were very helpful and polite as well.
There is a pool but didn't get a chance to go in. Beaches and resorts are abundant in Cebu especially on Mactan Island. Head there to get your beach and sand fix.
