Apo Idon was a very nice hotel with very friendly and accomodating staff. Lonely Planet also stayed in Apo Idon and even said that they had the most appealing rooms in Pagudpud. I'd have to agree there. Among the resorts/hotles we stayed in, this resort gave its money's worth. The rooms go from php 4000.00 - php 6000.00. This price may seem steep, but if you go there during th offpeak season they can lower it to 50% off. Actually we went there last week and they gave it to us for half the price and was even willing to lower the php6000.00 rooms to 40% a night even though it was already peak season.
They have a great view of the beach from their restaurant (Helen), and I can't stress this enough... the staff was very accomodating. They toured us through all the rooms and were very patient. The rooms also had 2 beds which could be occupied by 2 people for each bed. (Villa Del Mar only had 1 bed in the room which we stayed in which was the same pricephp2000.00). If you eat lunch and dinner you get free breakfast the following day. The room was not very clean, the sheets were not crisp and fresh. The toilet/bathroom didn't seem to be disinfected.
Arinaya is along the beachfront. The restaurant serves good food although it's a bit pricey for its kind. They provided us with a car and driver to take us around the scenic spots in Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte. Reasonably priced. From Laoag, a non-aircon mini bus can take you to Pagudpud. Ask around for directions. Folks there are very accommodating.

Punta Azul Beach Resort located at Blue Lagoon (locally known as Maira-ira Point) is soooo beautiful, neat and awesome place to stay. The room rates are very reasonable with very classic facilities. The deluxe room we stayed is overlooking the lagoon and the verdant mountains while lying in bed. From the bedroom, just slide the glass door and stay at the veranda where you have a better view of the place which is just like a paradise. The bathrooms have a colorful and beautiful bathtub with curtain that divides the toilet and the bathtub. They got hot and cold water. Downstairs, is a very wide sala fully furnished and adjustcent to it is a dining table and a kitchen all made of hardwood beautifully polished. We could have cooked our own food but we did not bring any so employees just cook our orders and dine facing the lagoon front while chewing our food. When you step out of the door, is a very generous porch where we just sit and breath the fresh air. You do not even need an aircon although throughout inside the house is fully air conditioned. Ate Lanie and Marites are very friendly and they treated us well. This is a place I wanna go back again and I highly recommend this resort to anyone. It is just like a big house where you can have all the comfort of your own home but even much better because some of the things they provided are mostly from America like the soap is Oil of Olay, the lotion which I forgot the name, the hand wash soap in the bathroom is from Bath & Body, the coffee is cappuccino from America, the spam is from the US and amazingly even their toilet paper is imported from America. The beds are very neat and the bedspread is so beautiful and colorful. Overall, it looks like we stayed in a five star hotel with a gigantic discount since we paid only Php 3,500. My group and I didn't actually stay here but we did check it out for a group of friends who were arriving a day later. They offered a 2-room house, a/c, kitchen (ref, stove), dining, t/b for a mere Php 4000.00!!! It can accommodate up to 10 people. It fronts the beach and also has a restaurant where you can take your meals if you're not on a tight budget...It's even cheaper if it's off-peak season--Php2500-3000 only!
You may use their kitchenware if you didn't bring any. They even offer the use of their water dispenser for free! They also have cable TV!!! If you are just looking for a place to sleep, this is a good choice (aircon room with 2 beds, can accommodate up to 6 pax, private toilet with shower). Since we came after the holy week & my mom's friend is good for haggling & sweet talkin, we manage to get the room for only P1,500 per night, original price is P3,000 hehe. Fan room is only P750 original price is 1k. Nipa hut cottage - free. If you are afraid of crawling tiny roach, this is not for you ;) Theme: OtherPrice: less than US$20 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveAddress: Saud Beach

This guest house is unforgettable… It’s where we stayed during our 1st and 2nd Pagudpud trip… At that time (year 2001), we have little knowledge about Pagudpud… We don’t know where to stay or where to eat or what to do… I just can’t remember how we discovered Northridge but for whatever reason we ended up staying in this guest house… No regrets, the owner Mrs. Tessie Romero was very kind and accommodating… The cost of our room then was only 900 pesos... and honestly, I didn’t expect much… our room has A/C, with 1 queen size bed, 1 single bed & a clean toilet & bath… Since I cannot say so much about the facilities of Northridge then I’ll concentrate on their service and the owner… Mrs. Tessie was a good host… she makes sure that we are at ease & comfortable…she personally cooked and served our meals with a smile while telling stories about their place… That’s why, on our 2nd visit/trip (Y2002), we stayed again at Northridge… and just like our first time, we were pleased and satisfied with their service and way of handling guest…
Northridge may not have a wide stretch of golden white sand but staying in this guest house is a good alternative for someone like me who can be happy & at peace just by being near the ocean, seeing the sunrise & the sunset, smelling the salt sea air while hearing the waves crashing on the shore… Theme: Pension/GuesthousePrice: US$20-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensivePhone: +63 920 220-5089Website: contact Mrs. Tessie Romero Other Contact: +63 920 442 7348

Planning a Pagudpud trip 2 days beforehand was tricky specially on a long busy weekend. I texted several resorts/hotels but only Northridge Resort replied. My travel companion did get to contact a couple of places but they were either booked or was charging a bit more than NorthRidge. So we decided to reserve a room in Northridge. Unfortunately, I blame it on the celphone signal, I didn't get a confirmation from the resort until 36 hours after my text when we were already on our way to Pagudpud from Vigan. Talk about photo finish! Anyway, patience is a virtue!
Northridge Resort offers 2 rooms big enough for 10 people and 4 other rooms for 5 to 6 people each. Then they have an affiliate accomodation at the back with 4 rooms, good for 4 to 6 people. The rooms have aircon and own toilet and bath. TVs are located in the common area and during the hot afternoons or long night, you could just sing videoke to your heart's delight (Thank gawd that they have a curfew for the videoke!). But the best part of our stay was the warm hospitability of Manang Tessie. Manang Tessie was really sweet! She had our room ready for us eventhough there were tons of people who wanted to rent it. We asked her to prepare our lunch because we just got tired of eating in the unreasonably priced restos around the beach, and she did a great job! Best meal we had in our stay in pagudpud. It was HORRIBLE. I've read the comments about Polaris here in virtual tourist and it's exactly the opposite from what we experienced. It was supposed to be a romantic getaway, it turned out to be a BORING and NONSENSE getaway. The resort is close to the beach, but do not basically have a full ocean view. There were only like 1 person who greeted us and as if she wasn't interested at all. We got to the room and it doesn't have a television. not very cozy. you go downstairs and the host was sleeping. We were sooo hungry and we couldn't wake her up, i kept on calling her and she was so busy sleeping or she's just trying to ignore me? i don't know. we ordered fried chicken and it tasted like ginisa mix, and it wasn't really satisfying. we decided to check out the beach and guess what the beach in front was full of sea weeds, was TOO dirty...we had to walk for 10 minutes under the sun just to get to the good part of the beach which was in front of arinaya beach resort, i think. It was too far. I MADE THE WRONG CHOICE OF TAKING THE ADVISE OF WHOEVER WROTE THE GOOD COMMENTS ABOUT POLARIS BEACH RESORT. GUYS, PLEASE PLEASE, don't go there anymore. I was so disappointed that we checked out i think around 9am and went to Blue Lagoon. NOW, this place i really recommend, AGUA SEDA Beach house. It saved us from our misery. Im so happy we decided to leave Polaris! I'll make another comment about AGUA SEDA.
NONE!!!!
