Punta Amelita: Oasis for the weary In Isabela

This is a great place to come to and unwind. Located just as you enter Isabela, This roadside (!) resort boasts of a huge, beautiful pool, a mini-zoo with ostrich, peacocks, monkeys, snakes, wild boar, sheep..., an aviary, aquarium, huge area for walking, running or trekking. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff personable and the rates very reasonable. You might opt to eat out at nearby Santiago, (there's a quaint cafe at the Total station on the way that's very popular) or arrange with the staff for meals to be cooked and served at your rooms or at the terrace dining area overlooking the resort. We used it as a jump-ofcf point for our trip to Banaue, getting in from Manila in the morning and heading off to Banaue the next day after a very comfortable, very soothing stay. A destination in itself!
