Bali Hai Beach Resort: A clean, simple resort

Bal Hai is a good option if you are interested in staying in Bauang. It is located along the South China sea and offers clean, simple, rooms. The restaurant menu provides an array of Filipino and Intercontinental options at resort prices (US$3-5) and each night has a special such as Mongolian Grill or Grilled Pampano fish.

It's less than an hour drive to San Fernando, La Union, and an hour away from Baguio. We were part of a large medical mission group and rented vans, but you can hire a taxi or tri-cycle in needed.

A regular one or up to two person room is 1400pesos with one free breakfast included or a two up to four person room available with two free breakfast included is 1600pesos. The VIP room (1600pesos) also includes a fridge and cable television.

The view of the ocean water in the early morning and late afternoon is great. It's worth a moment to sit back, sip kalamansi juice, and reflect on something peaceful.

The pool nestled above the beach is warm and cool at the same time. It's available to every guest and any outside guest is asked to pay 150pesos.

On saturday night, two young girls with a back-up band sing their hearts out and welcome any person in the vicinity to sing along. It could be fun if you are adventurous and want to make some hilarious memories.

Bali Hai Beach Resort: Beach and pool

The Bali Hai Beach Resort is one of a string of similar resorts along the beach here. The accommodation is pretty basic, but the gardens are nice, the bar restaurant is good and both the pool and beach are just a few metres from your chalet. If you are looking for a luxurious resort, this is not the place, but if you want somewhere quiet and inexpensive to relax, this may suit you.

Bali Hai Beach resort: Bali Wali

I didn't actually stay here but we did consider staying here for the night. The resort has a pool, a restaurant and bar. Aircon and non-aircon (electric fan) are available for 3 to 5 persons. Foreigners seems to be their main clients here.

The pool is quite big but is a few feet away from the rooms since it is located at the back of the resort. It is also very accessible from the beach so people not staying in the resort can swim here. But I think the pool is open to the public so long as you pay a minimum fee of P100.

Cabana Beach Resort: Cabanarama

The rooms in Cabana Beach Resort are good for 3 persons at most, is a little old, no TV, and has airconditioning. The resort also has a restaurant overlooking the beach but the food is a little pricey.

Resorts in Bauang area mostly have no pools so Cabana's swimming pool is a plus. Also, if you want to take a quick dip at the beach, it is very accessible since it just a few feet away from the rooms of the resort.

I don't remember: Near Bauang

There are some beach run operations about 14 km from Bauang that are very nice also. A couple of them are good for surfing or strong swimmers only as the surf is very strong here!!

Mendoza Beach Cottages: Bungalows

There are a few cottages at Mendoza. It is a very quiet place. You get there by walking down the road through a cocount grove. Ask a Jeepney driver for directions.
