Good location on the sea, next to the market and dive shop (if you don´t dive you can join for snorkeling), probably the cheapest in Coron, small rooms.
The guesthouse has 5 spacious rooms and 2 of which are A/C rooms with private Toilet and bathroom. Others are fan room and 1 A/C room that share common toilet and bathroom. Rates range from P900.00 to P1300.00 per night. There’s an additional P350.00 for every extra person in A/C room and P250.00 for fan room. A little bit pricey for me. The A/C rooms can accommodate 6 to 8 persons while fan rooms can accommodate up to 4 persons. Everything for me is standard. No dining area but local restaurant can be spotted just right outside.
The guesthouse is owned by Ms. Susan De La Rosa
You can email her at Villahermosa889@yahoo.com
This is for budget traveler located at bankwang area on the way to La Sirenetta Restaurant across Bistro Coron. Everything here is standard but okay for the price. They have fan and A/C rooms and family type accommodation. They have a small dining area facing the sea. They offer buffet for group of 5 for only P180.00 each. You can choose 3 viands your group wants. They have their own boat so island hopping tour can be arranged. They will give the Malcapuya loop tour for only P2500.00 for the small boat. I saw a dive center near it.
You can have an A/C room for only P600.00.

we had a relaxing stay at Grand Vista. The owner is pleasant to the guests and is very efficient in coordinating tours even if you choose the ones apart from what they offer. Gigi, the owner, wants to ensure that their guests leave their place satisfied and happy.
literally out of town proper.. more like 20 mins away from the town.
it was the first time i ever went to coron and the homestay with tita lilian was one of the best experience i ever had beside the great outdoors and the nice people. the place is a little hidden from the main road but the view at their balcony is breathtaking!
you can choose from their aircon rooms which is a bit modern and their fan rooms which is made up of bamboo floors and sawali walls which is okay if you want to experience the whole provincial feel. but we opted to use their aircon room bcoz it was the height of summer and so we can have a good nights sleep for our adventures the next day.
we had an extended stay in coron because our flight from cebu pacific was cancelled because of bad weather, (which lasted for only 15mins!!!!) and totally pissed off most of the passengers especially me because airphils express plane left the airport after the rain has stopped for 30mins to an hour. cebu pacific did not even has the decency to provide us with an accomodation, even water because of their cancelled flight. tita lilian was kind enough to allow us to stay in the airconditioned room we rented when she learned of what has happened to us, even though we cannot pay for it because there is only one bank at coron
(and if i can remember it correctly it does not have a atm) and we ran out of cash. she even told us that we can stay for free but we know that it was business and it was peak season so we told her that when we reached manila we will immediately deposit the money to her account. where can you find a person such as she?
tita lilian and her husband, they are very kind, sweet and hospitable. they live on the first door along the catwalk like type bridge, even their helpers boyet and del are very nice and kind even though they are just kids.
tita lilian's place is a very well situated because it is near the public market, the church, mt. tapyas ( coz its near we went there twice) even the cebu pacific office. they can even prepare our trip around coron.
the accomodations they offer are:
airconditioned room # 1 shared t&b with fan room #2 - both good for 5 pax
airconditioned room # 2 with t&b - good for 5 pax
fan room #1 - good for 5 pax
- it has a balcony over looking the sea (where we usually eat)
- a kitchen (where you can cook your food or you can ask tita lilian to cook for you which of course you have to pay for)
- a dining area
- you can even use their tv with cable for free
- it also has a terrace-cum-dock where we were picked up for our tour around the islands of coron
we stayed on the aircon rm for php1500 a night and the fan rooms are even less than php1000 but that was april of 2009
Divelink is a good resort relatively. It was once visited by the present female president of the country. However the published rate at the range over Php 4000 may be a bit expensive (check with its web site). I experienced a bargain rate. Being a diver, I joined Divecal diving centre which is linked with the said resort and I was offered a Php 1500 per person per nite including breakfast residence at the resort. Picked up by dive boat at the private pier of the resort. Very convenient. Google their web to compare
Excellent view. Secluded.
If I am to ask the best accommodation in Coron/Busuanga area, I will say it's El Rio y Mar Resort. As the name says, it's where the river meets the sea. The resort is surrounded by mangroves where guests can kayak. El Rio y Mar has three types of accommodation: native cabana, cedar cabana and the newest, Casa morena. If you are a couple going to the resort, I recommend you stay in the cedar cabana because of it's inviting ambiance. I recommend this resort to people who want to have a very relaxing vacation because you will not only enjoy here, you'll also get the value of your money through their services.
They have an infinity pool (i like it! ), kiddie pool, Port Caltom's Reef Bar (where you can lounge and drink your heart out), mouthwatering cuisine (i swear!), and most specially, the BEST staff!
El Rio y Mar staff will surely pamper you during your stay in the resort.
The place is simple. No Aircon, or heater for your shower. But the place is nice and simple. It is spacious and there are also books available for you to read. Since you are in an island, you are in a private place. Food is ok. And the owner Gunther is very historically sound as well with regards to the shipwrecks around Coron
Good place to relax after diving
i highly recommend this accom to everybody who wants to go to coron whether you are alone, for couple, with friends and families...this is the best place for you if you really want the serenity and peaceful place....
very relaxing and you will have a privacy....
you can view the video of mine here:
great view of ocean or lakes and mountains...surrounded by many trees....
We had a great time! So much space, great views and many fun things to do for free. Cost of accommodation was next to nothing.
Staying on a secluded island surrounded by nature, the sea, the forest and mountains was a wonderful experience. Huts were made of native materials -- bamboo sidings, wooden slab flooring and roof made of palm leaves was cool and relaxing. Many free things to do like native boat paddling, swiming around the abandoned hut at sea and just taking it easy.
There is a another lodging in Coron called Darayonan lodge. Anyway, I would just like to make a review of this inn coz we were really disappointed.
Cleanliness - 3/5
Staff - 1/5
Location - 4/5
Service - 1/5
The location is in the mainland so it's easy to go to the market and buy your stuff.
Our major problem with this hotel is that it has no manager so the service is terrible. The staff doesn't know what to do because the manager/owner is in Manila. Breakfast is included in the price, they make you choose from a lot of fixed meals, but in the end you might end up with just bread because they have no stock for almost everything!! No bacon, no ham, no tapa, no longganisa .. almost all the meat products are not available. They serve butter and bread ... with no butter knife! Juice is supposed to be free but they have no powdered orange juice available so you have to pay for the mango juice that you order.
So, we went to the Village Lodge next door for our dinner. The service there was better, and the food servings were huge. I suggest you book in this lodge rather than Darayonan.
We were forced to actually go to Darayonan because no lodging is available because it was peak season. We were actually surprised because there were a lot of rooms available when the other hotels were fully booked. Why?? We found out sooner than we thought.
We met this couple who also complained. Their 6-day package tour turned into 2 days, they took the next flight out of Coron because they were disappointed. I pity them, because they paid the package tour in whole, and yet they didn't even get to go to the Calauit tour (which was supposed to be included in the amount they paid) because the lodge didn't arrange it. I suggest not to take their package tour ever!
There was no TV in our room when we arrived, yet it was included in the price. It took countless requests to bring the TV up, and they finally took it up when we threatened them to reduce the price because there was no TV.
The driver that took us to the airport was also very rude. I suggest to take the Shuttle Van of the airline you took.
We thought it could be nice to discover a little further on the main island where there seem to be many little islands and nice mangroves and heard about this place in Concepcion.
Concepcion is a little fishermen village about 1- 1.5 hour bus ride East of Coron Town. It is a very peaceful place, no traffic, no noise and just houses and few sari-sari shops. Just by the pier is the Pier House guest house and restaurant.
When we were there they were still working on completing the new upgrades to the place which they hope will turn it from a budget place to a higher class place. But since it was the rainy season and there was nobody staying and the house was not complete we had a nice deal about the room (incl."don't tell anybody"). The rooms were all new and concrete. Because the house is on the water there is no need for AC or even fan for the most time. There is no hot water or bathroom doors (this was not that easy to get used to; the toilets in the room are very open). There is a good bar, pool table, and a terrace with great sunset views.
If you stay there you can also rent either a motor banca (Php 1.400) or a paddle banca (Php 350) and they have snorkeling gear as well. Nearby they have a very big mangrove forest and some nice white sand beaches and coral garden accessible by paddle banca. All the wrecks are nearer to Concepcion than they are to Coron Town but there are no nearby dive operators. Michael is at the moment thinking to set up a dive shop there but it seems it may take time.
Very unfortunately the food from their restaurant was really expensive. If we were paying a thousand pesos for the room, maybe we could also have 300 pesos for a chopsuey or 200 pesos for a bowl of cornflakes but this was not the case and we found it insulting even being charged Php 50 for a thermos of hot water. This was the only place in the Philippines where we had to pay for drinking water (all other places had free hot/cold water and sometimes even free hot drinks). The only reason they can do this is that they have no competition at all. In the village there is no place to buy cooked food and even the sari-sari shops are quite basic. We truly regretted not having bought some groceries in Coron Town. Even more, they changed the prices in the menu while we were staying there and expected us to pay in these new prices for things we had already consumed. It was totally disrespectful insulting behavior.
It looks like they are planning to open the place to people reserving over the internet and no more expect walk-in guests. Location wise it is a great place but the attitude has a very long way to go.
Only accommodation in Concepcion and very peaceful
This is a very nice place, very well decorated with a charming garden but you cannot walk downtown from there, and there is not much just out of the door. To get to a local restaurant you'd have to take a tricycle. Or depend on their kitchen which is reportedly not very reasonably priced. The rooms are cute and toilets unique. The room prices are inexpensive.
I was very fortunate to be able to experience Club Paradise almost absolutely free as a friend gifted me with a complimentary accommodation here. I only had to pay for boat rental and meals. But still, my review here is as honest as I can be and is not a result of bribery :)
Service here is superb. Staff are trained well to make you feel at home and relaxed. Conversing with them was really effortless.
My husband, who was still my boyfriend back then, was with me. We rented a boat and went fishing. The boat rental was quite expensive (about 35-40USD), although it was a nice, big boat and the staff who went with us were really helpful. It was not the greatest season for fishing, so we were able to catch just a single, small fish. Poor fellow! We had it cooked at the resort and ate it for lunch. Supposed to be there was a cooking fee, but we weren't charged anymore. I guess they pitied us for bringing back a tiny fish for a four-hour effort.
This is a great destination particularly if you want total relaxation and, of course, for a romantic hideaway.
The beauty of the island is a given. But what makes it special is that Club Paradise occupies the whole island. This gives the ultimate privacy to guests. Unlike other commercial resorts, here you don't have to wrestle with a whole lot of other guests just to enjoy part of the beach.
The staff were efficient and friendly. Really counts for a stress-free vacation.
A resort in a secluded island but not very far from Coron town. A diver's paradise. Cottage type houses. The whole of the resort house not more than 30 people which makes it more special. Cottages are seperated from each other. The area is rich and lush green. Bathroom is okay. Food great also. There is Eve, a friendly snake.
Kayaks are available.
Prices are affordable, especially if you book in bigger group.
Lots of dive magazines.
The view is perfect! And unexpectedly, there are hardly mosquitoes around.
Owner is Gunter. Very kind person. Pioneer is Coron scuba diving, discoverer of a beautiful divesite, Gunter's Cathedral.
