Marina Garden Beach Resort - little gem of El Nido

Marina Garden is very nice beachfront hotel in the center of El Nido (in front of police station).
Best value for money. They have air-conditioned and fan rooms. All air-conditioned rooms seems newly renovated (very nice design), the fan rooms I guess older part of the hotel.
The place is pretty secure as there is a 10pm curfew on the beach entrance to the resort.
My room was very new and clean; housekeeping is under request in the hotel. Breakfast is nice, they serve Continental, American and Philippine breakfast, and it is already included in the room price.
Staff is very welcoming, very small minus of the hotel - they don't have generator, so there is no electricity between 6 am - 1 pm, was not really issue for me as I was on the boat tours most of the time. Hot water is only in the deluxe rooms.
5 min walking to Art cafe if you are going to use their service, all good restaurants are just around the corner.
Hotel is highly recommended. It shall be booked in well in advance, especially during holidays, at the end of September I could book only 4 nights for Christmas, and had to stay 1 night in other hotel as Marina Garden was fully booked.

Marina #7

The room is clean and neat.. Marina is newly renovated.. It is one of the nicest resorts in El Nido.. There is a police detachment at the back.. They also serve free coffee :D
Another thing I like about Marina is the staff are very accomodating.. what they lack in facilities they make up for it in service.. You can have your dirty clothes wash by Marina as well..
Electricity in El Nido is limited but we had plenty of water :D

Unique Quality: Marina is at the beach front and the view is spectacular.

Best one in town

We stayed here for 5d/4n and we got the best rooms (1 & 10). They've got really nice and clean rooms. The location is also great, being the center of the beach. It's away from the noise of the current port construction and I guess the water is a bit cleaner (although we never swam here).

We got the villa rooms with aircon. Although electricity is only 16 hours, aircon rooms are still good since the light is on from 6pm to 6am.

Unique Quality: The place is adequate for our needs. My only beef is that there's no restaurant in the place so you will still need to go somewhere else to buy water and food. Although as of this writing, they were constructing a small restaurant at the far end of the resort (near the cottages). So I guess that should take care of it.

We had a great stay here except for one minor altercation with the staff who failed to clean our room (although we specifically made the request in the morning). The arrangement is that they will only clean rooms upon request. Apparently, they 'forgot'. Anyway, they did clean it when we got back. I guess they need to have a more professional manager to oversee things like this. Obviously the cleaning crew are just kids on their summer break. So somebody should really be supervising them.

Rate per night is P1600 for 2 pax. This is actually a bit more expensive than the other places but it's worth it.
