Dos Palmas Arrecefi Resort: Dos Palmas Arrecefi Resort

Got a day tour package (P1,500 for adults). Our tour started with a bus ride from NCCC mall in palawan city town proper, a 45 minute bus ride going to the wharf. From the wharf we rode their banca for abour 20-30 minutes i think.

We were greeted by the sounds of native instruments being played by the hotel staff.

Great buffet lunch. Welcome drinks of somekind of flower juice (which i totally forgot, but there was a gumamela in the glass)

Hotel Fleuris: Hotel Fleuris

Booked the hotel through the PALAKBAYAN package of Philippine Airlines, costs about 40% cheaper than booking hotel and airfare directly.

Hotel has a pool which children can enjoy (provided that they haven't had enough of Dos Palmas day trip or a Honday Bay island hopping trip). Located in the center of the town, so restaurants are nearby.

Puerto Pension: Puerto Pension

Family rooms were in the ground floor of the building (a 3 storey structured primarily made of native materials), so it was very convinient for my mum and my niece/nephew.

Rooms were very clean, although the there was always this problem of mosquitos during our stay. But they will give you an electric mosquito repellant inside the rooms anyway.

Restaurant (for the free breakfas) is located at the 3rd floor, a bit steep going up, but you can have a nice view of PP Bay.

We go their: Family Room
(Inclusive Continental Breakfast)

Php 1,190 (2 PAX) Php1,095.00 (1 PAX)
(Queen Bed with pull out trundle bed-Double Occupancy)
Php 350.00 - Extra person

Air-conditioned, with private toilet and bath
shower heater, colored cable TV. & mini ref.

Mary's Beach Resort

Mary's Beach Resort is at the end of Sabang beach. Its simple huts with or without bathrooms offer a quiet almost private beach, pure jungle surroundings, shady trees with hammocks to dose off reading your book, excellent dishes cooked in a traditional way and balconies to enjoy the magnificent sunsets. Prices come between 350 for singles and 600-700 for two. Negotiate!
Your trip to the next stop by boat can be arranged with the friendly owner who, by the way, is an excellent cook! All the rooms have mosquito nets which are absolutely necessary...!
The distance to the center of the village is not annoying as it's a nice walk on the beautiful beach.
If you arrive by local transport someone will probably be waiting for you to carry your luggage to the resort even if you haven't booked, in case there are vacancies of course.

Bayview Lodging house - El Nido: for very low budgets

If you aren't too squeamish and on a very low budget then Bayview is the perfect place for you. The entrance is on Palmera street and the large balcony has a superb view on the bay!! The front rooms are also privileged with the same view. The rooms are large and pleasant and the beds are comfortable. Prices are 250 with shared bathroom and showers. The lady in charge is very nice , she can do your laundry and even cook for you. It's easy to have a quick swim just in front of the hotel. The location is perfect being a few steps to everything. The big balcony is very convenient for your breakfast and for a relaxing beer or a happy chat with other tenants in the evening before or after your outings.
I even arranged to have a relaxing massage in my room!

Lola Itang's pension house: Bahay ni Lola (Grandma's house)

Friendly staff and a very accomodating management. I just didn't like how the towels smelled. The room has ample space with a veranda in front of each room where breakfast may be served upon request. The room cost 850 pesos which has 2 beds (1 single and 1 double bed) with aircon, TV and bathroom with hot shower. Most rooms open up to a small garden and is a really refreshing site in the early morning.

has a karaoke bar, a restaurant and a dart board. It's right in the middle of the city that it makes it convenient to go to and fro.

Puerto Pension: Recommendable pension house

I took a single room and was given the room at the ground floor but gotta share the bathroom with just another room which was occupied by a Swiss couple. Paid P745, got a queen sized bed, aircond,TV, 2 electrical sockets all in all, no complaints. . . except for the number of mosquitoes hanging around in the room. Tip - do not leave your room door open !! Tip - buy a cannister of repellant and Go anti mosquito cream. Room is clean but found the hot water a little not too hot. Told them also to fix the shower head.

The receptionist is a gem of a lady - was her name Bel ? Ya, I think so. The price comeswith breakfast, so when I ordered breakfast, the guy taking the order was a little blur and did not give me what I wanted, but that's no big deal. You are allotted a little table outside your room for your breakfast but I took the breakfast instantly into the room. Why ? Mosquitoes by the dozens !!!

Yes I will recommend this hotel. Nice setting and provides you the transfer to the airport as well. Probably just a little pricey, but then again, if Lonely Planet rates it good, they will not be short of customers. When I was there they were something like 95% filled with only 2 rooms left.

There are trixs and should you need a taxi, Bel will call one for you. Their computer system viz a vis their bookings system looked pretty efficient. There is someone at the computer almost all the time. You are just 5 minutes walk to the market and MacDonald and other pharmacies.

3rd Floor aircon room: Sea Dive Inn: Coron's A-1 Accomodation

I can say that my brief 2 day & 1 night stay in this Busuanga Seadive resort is fantastic. It has has an experienced staff with local dive masters who are living on the site with the support of their state-of-the-art diving equipments. Wide fine dining options of "fresh caught" local seafoods, Chinese dimsums, American burgers and french fries, Indian curries, beer, smoothies, and healthy desserts. You can enjoy all of these while watching native boats coming into the harbor. You can also rest on its comfortable rooms with refreshing hot showers. The only bad point here is they don't include the tax on the charges as reflected on the display boards and the airconditioning in my room is not so cool. Also souvenirs are unattractive.

The most important & I can say the best feature of this Inn is the friendliness of its staff from the receptionist to the cook. Their warmth and special treatment extended makes you feel the need for you to stay longer and wish you wanna live here forever.

Dos Palmas Resort: Honda Bay's Exclusive Resort

Cottage/ac/bath P9250 to P12,000 per person, including full board. Extensive, exclusive grounds with well-kept, tastefully decorated cottages, some of which are built on piles in the water. Restaurant, swimming pool, tennis courts, kayaks, diving.
Plenty of things to do in this resort. You can wander in their beautiful garden grounds til you reach the mangroves. Sports activities are also available. Kids will not get bored in their children's playroom with TV & videos. The resort can also arrange to take you to their snorkelling area thru their speed boat. The lunch buffet is very satisfactory. We paid P1200/pax for the day trip. It was such an enjoyable experience.

Nice snorkelling area. Huge beautiful garden grounds.

Bambua Nature Park Resort: Sabang's Best

Although the cottages were basic and spartan they were nevertheless very clean and comfortable, and our stay at Bambua was made specially memorable by the owners Andre and Rosalie's personal attention. Due to a 4 hour Air Phil flight delay from Manila to Puerto Princesa we were worried about our transport to the resort, but was rest assured when we met up with Andre whose been patiently waiting for our arrival. He, along with a driver picked us up in their Bambua jeepney and drove the 3 hours to Sabang. We took the 3days/2nights nature experience package, which is all-inclusive, except for the drinks. The next day his Filipina wife Rosalie guided us through the jungle trek to the St Paul's Subterannean River and then an exhillirating pumpboat ride back to Sabang pier. There's also a mangrove river tour that shouldn't be missed.

The resort sits on top of a mountain which overlooks the CIAAP organic farm. It has deep fishponds thus theres hardly any mosquitos and lush jungle vegetation surrounds you.

Amelia Pensionne House: Their motto: "The Coldest Beer in Town"

...Too bad i didn't find out how "cold" their beer is...
Anyways...the place is generally good. Our friend and officemate Mr Lamela (owner) booked us in one of their 2 storey apartelle with 2 BR, kitchen and sala, cable tv, hot and cold shower. We only got to stay there for a day due to amendments with our sked and Mr Lamela almost gave us the rent for free! But i was shy (it only took us a few hours to mess the whole house up!) and paid half of a day's rent.

it's near the airport and beside the apartelle is a grocery called "CITRA MINA" where you can find cheap cheap frozen seafood products. They pack the things that you buy really nicely so you can bring it back to manila fresh and still freezing cold.

Venture ville: Cheap and musty

This is Puerto Princessa.
For 300 pesos a night what you get is: 2 beds a strong fan, a private bathroom, and a musty funk in the room. It's not a bed deal. Only 3 blocks from Rizal street, this place is fine for the price. Bring some incense and you should be alright. And also earplugs becuase the kids wake up early and the room is not completely soundproof.
