Manny's Guest House: A Humble Abode

by enail

A clean and affordable place to stay, Manny's guest house is suitable for backpackers both for short or long stays. It's homey ambiance makes you feel the true essence of probinsyano lifestyle. The 3-room guest house has a common comfort/bath room, kitchen and sala. Cool sea breeze can be felt as it is overlooking the Puerto Bay.

Manong Manny, the owner, and his wife are very helpful in giving tips and advices on the places you should visit as well as the directions on how to go to those places.

Krystal Lodge, Coron: Find Total Relaxation

by lady_nomad

I have always been passionate about rustic dwellings specially when my choice of place is near the beach. Out of seven options I read from blogs, I wouldn't change a thing about staying in Krystal Lodge. The thing that made me opt for it was the odd idea that I would be staying in a house built on stilts. Savoring the seabreeze relentlessly. I didn't even realize that my four days were over.

The view from the lodge is panoramic. Since it is beach front, you have the greatest angle of the sunrise, and the sunset on the side of Mt. Tapyas which is on the eastern part of the lodge. You need not go to the market port to take the boat for your island tour activities because the boat can pick you up straight from the lodge. Just a few walks on the bamboo bridge from your room.

hotel flueris: --hotel flueris--the best!

by chums_928

I'm really glad i picked this hotel. It has nice ambiance, clean and quiet. Close to the town proper.. walking distance from chowking, jollibee and a lot more!!!

unfortunately i can't tell you how much per nyt stay coz had a tour package with roundtrip flight from palakbayan.

what i really like about it is that they have their own pool.. an outdoor one though.. pero marami nmn plants to cover the pool so people can't see you swimming. Yun nga lang my curfew! hehe.. pero okay na rin... i don't think you could stay past 10 anyways dahil sa pagod all day you'll be out in no time!!!

Skylight Apartelle: Moderately Priced Accommodation

by sunlily

They accommodated our request for additional beds in our rooms since we booked three rooms (2 rooms with 2 single beds+2addtl beds each; 1 double bed rm). We reserved in their Manila office and paid upfront when we arrived. The rooms are clean although the additional beds needs more foam/padding. They have aircon rooms with TV but weak reception of signal. One bad thing though is that our breakfasts are always delayed! We even called in our orders the previous night so we can leave early for our Honda bay tour but when we arrived at the mess hall, our breakfast are not ready and worst, the cooks haven't even arrived yet! We waited for an hour and almost didn't wait for the breakfast since we were told by the tour operator that we might miss the boat. My tip: call in your breakfast choices and have them pack it in styro so you can just eat on the way to your tour. I called the reservation officer and the owner to let them know what happened and they were apologetic about it.

It's at the heart of the city, very near the market, fast food and town plaza. You can also book you tours via their receptionist. Travel brochures/flyers are also available at the reception so you can choose your operator/agent. What I loved the most is that Marge, the reservation officer in their Manila office always gets in contact with us to check our experience.

Duchess Pension: Cheap but Clean in Puerto Princesa City

by sunlily

We arrived in PPS via Cebu Pacific and after a short tricycle ride, checked in at Duchess Pension. The place is very ideal for travellers on a budget. The rooms are small but clean, has aircon and Trixie-the receptionist at that time was actually helpful when we couldn't contact the bus owner going to El Nido. It has private TB, no tv, and no view which we didnt mind at all since we were just staying for a night. It's also near the market and fast food.

We stayed here for just a night and woke up early to catch the Sweety bus at San Jose going to El Nido. It's nice because the Sweety bus even dropped by in front of Duchess to pick us up. It's a good thing since we saved up on our tricycle fare, was able to choose our seats for the long ride and loaded our luggages already.

backpackers: AUDISSIE PUERTO PRINCESA

by sheila2097

The place is clean, well-maintained. However, we're disappointed on the H & C shower as indicated in their brochure. You need to request, literal pakulo ng water sa takure. But on the ambiance, nice and simple. My friends & I enjoyed our stay here, atmosphere is laid back. They're all nice, you can chat with other guests and if you're travelling alone you won't get bored. Most of the long-staying guests just play chess & watch tv together on the open dining. Of course all rooms have tv, it's fun watching with other people... they do serve beer of course! On our first night, we went to the market to buy seafoods. They charged us minimal amount for the cooking charge. The Cook (si Manang!) is really nice and our food was really delicious esp. the crab steamed in 7Up.
We hired their van going to El Nido, just the 3 of us and another couple in the hotel. Since it's off peak, we got great discount. The son of the owner drived for us, with a free sidetrip to
Sabang for Underground River. No wonder there are a lot of guests who stayed long there. Btw, their dogs are really cute. I miss Bubbles!

All staff & owners were accomodating & friendly. Room with a view 'coz it's near baywalk, you can see the sea at your window. Good location, walking distance going to the market and rizal ave. They can also arrange city tour and el nido tour.
