Kokosnuss is relatively far from the town proper. I would recommend Sea Dive Resort (http://www.seadiveresort.com/) which is just near the pier where you will catch your boat for the island hopping. The shuttle from the airport to Coron town is P150. The staff from Sea Dive will just be happy to assist you with your travel arrangements around Coron. If you are on a tight budget you may wish to catch the Superferry which leaves Manila on Friday afternoon and arrives Coron Saturday morning and leaves the island on Sunday evening. You get 2 whole days to see the islands. First day could be spent island hopping and the second day going to Maquinit hot spring and around the town proper together with some souvenir shoppling.
I do not normally travel with a lot of people, but this time of the year comes the tourism eductional tour schedules for the College of Saint Benilde of Manila. Together with almost 60 students, we decided to conquer the Philippine's Last Frontier.... Palawan.
Upon reaching Puerto Princesa via Cebu Pacific Airways, we were immediately transfered to our hotel - Asturias Hotel.
Located at the heart of bustling Puerto Princesa, the Asturias Hotel consists of 60 luxurious guestrooms that complement the warmth and friendly services that make you feel right at home. We were immediately given our keys (maybe because they knew we were hoteliers) or maybe, it was really just their usual hospitality practice.
The austere facade of the hotel was remarkably overturned by the interior design of the hotel. Rooms are suitably located in such a way that each room would have easy access to the pool which is located right at the center of the property.
Having stayed in this hotel made our educational tour a lot more fun and cognitively rewarding.

This is Puerto Princessa.
For 300 pesos a night what you get is: 2 beds a strong fan, a private bathroom, and a musty funk in the room. It's not a bed deal. Only 3 blocks from Rizal street, this place is fine for the price. Bring some incense and you should be alright. And also earplugs becuase the kids wake up early and the room is not completely soundproof.
This place sits on the far west end side of town. Nestled at the base of majestic limestone cliffs, The Cliffside Cottages are a great place to stay for the price. For 500 pesos you get a little cottage, a fan and private bathroom, a front porch and hot water brought to your porch every morning for tea, coffee, or instant oats. I ate my breakfast of instant oats and lunch or dinner of instant noodles to save on money. The staff is wonderful. They are all very sweet and friendly. The only problem was that there is a rooster farm across the street and they start crowing at 4 am. So bring earplugs and you should be fine. Also you only get electricty from 6pm-6am and 12pm-4pm. We stayed at another guest house for 800 pesos a night and got the same deal on electricity.
This hotel calls itself a resort but don't think big and busy, this is a very small resort (only 8 rooms) and it's very quiet and peaceful - we were the only guests in the hotel! It also calls itself a spa but if you want treatments they call in a therapist from town and they're done in your room or under a gazebo on the deck over looking the beach. It's small scale means you're guaranteed a relaxing stay and personalised, friendly service.
When you arrive you enter the main room (spacious, lots of pillars and very high ceilings), which serves as a small bar, reception, gift shop, dining area (when you can't dine on the deck) and lounge area with comfy sofas. At the front of this room the doors open out to the deck which over looks the sea and the islands. On either side of the room a door leads out to the guest rooms (4 on either side).
Each room is split level, with a double bed on each. They have all you expect from a nice resort; a modern bathroom, tv and aircon, the rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. There are chairs outside each room so you can sit out and look out to sea.
The price here includes all meals. There isn't a menu to choose from, every meal is a surprise and is served up on the deck or in the main room. It was always delicious, fresh and nutritious food and there's always too much! (Breakfast was usually toast/eggs/ham/bacon/fruit/pancakes. Lunch was usually fish/meat/rice/veg/fruit. Dinner soup/meat/fish/rice/veg/fruit).
We had a facial and a massage during our stay. As it had been raining we couldn't have them under the gazebo so we had them in our room instead. The therapists were very friendly and professional and the massage in particular was fantastic! It was amazing to lay on the comfy bed having a massage with the double doors open so I could hear the sound of the crashing waves. Pure relaxation! (I fell asleep during the facial!)
The best thing about this hotel is the way that they tailor your stay to your preferences. We'd wake up each day and they'd ask us what we would like to do and when. Our first day it was cloudy and had been raining so they took us into El Nido town and we had our beauty treatments in the afternoon. The next day they took us out island hopping and cooked us a fresh lunch on the beach. On our last night they had a local band come to the hotel and play especially for us!!
Everyone here is very friendly, funny and helpful, the hotel is beautiful and the location is spectacular. You'll have a great stay here!

We picked this hotel because after a very long journey to the island and arriving to heavy rain, we needed to stay somewhere nice! Joseph and Gladys in the tour office we were using said this was one of the best.
The entrance and lobby are particularly nice, you can tell straight away that this is a good hotel, and we were met by very efficient, friendly staff. This hotel has great facilities (pool, gym, business centre, gift shop, sauna, spa, laundry, room service, business centre...) not that we got to use them - our day trips kept us too busy.
The food in the restaurant is delicious, the breakfast buffet is included in the room price and is varied and plentiful, we had room service and had laundry done, both for reasonable prices. The room had 2 double beds and slept 4 adults very comfortably.
The location is central and plenty of tricycles stop outside for those rainy evenings when you don't want to walk!
The doors of the lift close very quickly - be warned or you might miss your floor or worse...

I just found this nice pension house/hotel/inn in the internet. Their place was so nice. Clean and with good ambiance. No regrets. Reasonable rates for their rooms.
Nice ambiance and with free breakfast!

If you aren't too squeamish and on a very low budget then Bayview is the perfect place for you. The entrance is on Palmera street and the large balcony has a superb view on the bay!! The front rooms are also privileged with the same view. The rooms are large and pleasant and the beds are comfortable. Prices are 250 with shared bathroom and showers. The lady in charge is very nice , she can do your laundry and even cook for you. It's easy to have a quick swim just in front of the hotel. The location is perfect being a few steps to everything. The big balcony is very convenient for your breakfast and for a relaxing beer or a happy chat with other tenants in the evening before or after your outings.
I even arranged to have a relaxing massage in my room!

Mary's Beach Resort is at the end of Sabang beach. Its simple huts with or without bathrooms offer a quiet almost private beach, pure jungle surroundings, shady trees with hammocks to dose off reading your book, excellent dishes cooked in a traditional way and balconies to enjoy the magnificent sunsets. Prices come between 350 for singles and 600-700 for two. Negotiate!
Your trip to the next stop by boat can be arranged with the friendly owner who, by the way, is an excellent cook! All the rooms have mosquito nets which are absolutely necessary...!
The distance to the center of the village is not annoying as it's a nice walk on the beautiful beach.
If you arrive by local transport someone will probably be waiting for you to carry your luggage to the resort even if you haven't booked, in case there are vacancies of course.
