SHERADAN: A LITTLE BIT OF LUXURY

This is a top quality place with two rows of up and down rooms and a swimming pool in the middle. Service appeared to be good but the menu extensive and pricey. Many guests were lazing around as they were quite busy. It is situated next to the sandy beach and offers many sporting activities such as bodyboard (250 p hr), skimboard (150 p hr), surf board (500 p hr), kayaks (400-600 p hr) and pedal boats (800 p hr).

AL PUERTO ESCAPADE: QUIET PLACE

This place was south of the pier, just follow the track around the seashore, passed Sunbird Bungalows and you will eventually arrive. The restaurant could be in better shape but the native bungalows are well spread out. The place was empty when we visited, and we couldn't understand why, as most of the other places were occupied to near capacity. Th beach is no good for swimming but there is a lookout/relaxation bungalow by the sea that you can climb up to enjoy the view and breeze too.

BALAY BALAY: SIMPLE PLACE BY THE PIER

Balay Balay is situated in a small compound by the car park next to the pier. It is a native building and probably a little noisy there, especially in the morning when the minibuses depart and arrive from Puerto Princesa. Still, the owner seemed friendly enough and he quoted me 1,200 a night for a double room.

GREEN VERDE RESTAURANT and LODGE: RESTAURANT, BEST VALUE FOR MONEY

This place is on the beach between the two expensive resorts of Sheridan and Daluyon. There is a native restaurant at the front with several good sized native bungalows at the rear, each with a good sized terrace. The restaurant here is exceptionally good, with good size portions, probably the best value on the beach.

DAYUNAN TOURIST INN: BY THE PIER

This seems to be quite a new place so i chatted to the owner who informed me that they had family rooms fr 3 persons, double rooms, both a/c and fan rooms. Prices ranged from 1,500 to 2,500, but it is located by the car park next to the pier which means it is probably a little noisy.

TARAW BEACH COTTAGES: ENJOY THE BUFFET

This place seems to cater for many of the day trippers that come on organised tours to see the underground river, as they have a buffet every day with many tables that can seat the masses. The cottages are small and cramped, and can be noisy during the night because of dogs.

DALUYON BEACH and MOUNTAIN RESORT: EXPENSIVE BUT EXCELLENT

Daluyon is probably the best resort on the beach with beautiful accommodation, a neat row of up and down white painted apartments, each with a balcony, various sizes with a/c, satellite tv, solar powered hot water and 24 hr a day electricity. there is also a swimming pool and fine restaurant, albeit a little on the expensive side. Rates are from 4000 to 10,000 a night and includes breakfast, extra bed is about 1000 pesos. They offer kayaking, outrigger tours, mangrove tours, among other things. It is located around 500m from the pier towards the underground river. If you are going to spend much time drinking here bring a wad of money with you!!!

bambua nature Park Resort: Balance our lives and be part of the nature

Will you be short of sunshine/ water activities/ sound of sea waves/ fine sands....in Palawan? Absolutely Not !

How about accommodation within a forest jungle in the evenings/ bird songs/ witnessing hundreds of white birds flying from all directions in group or alone to a particular tree located on a fish pond within the resort at about 6 pm daily?

How about getting away from the crowd after whole day underground river/ trails/ mangrove trip/ snorkeling/ diving...and be part of the Nature for a moment of quietness to listen to bird songs with glass of house wine at hands facing one's partner who is smiling/ listening light music ?

To search for such Balance of our lives while in busy Palawan. Consider Bambua Nature Park Resort that being 800 meters from Sabang beach. We extended our stay from original one nite to two then 3 nights before leaving Andre and other hospitable staff.

Must frankly admit that its location is relatively inconvenient and not easy to find. Call the owner to pick up in particular if you arrive after sunset.

Within a jungle. Bird songs. Quiet. Away from bars. Good homemade food.

Dap Dap Cabanas: Hotel with Artistic Flair

Dap Dap is in a garden like area 20 feet from the beach, and a short walk from the center of Sabang. Each cabana is different, with a different theme (one circular - with a large porch, another a tree house...). There is a great restaurant in the center of the area. The owner/manager, Dante, designed the place, and has many great features to show you if you are able to engage him in conversation. The food is fairly good, with Filipino and German items. A generator provides power in the morning and in the evening until midnight.

Outstanding architecture and great use of natural local woods and bamboo.

SUNBIRD BUNGALOWS: QUIET PLACE

This pleasant place is along the coast after the pier, just walk 5 minutes past Ausan's Store and you will come across this place, with bungalows straddling the hill. We were made most welcome as we passed by for a drink. The restaurant is at the front and is busy in the evening. Beers are 45 pesos and food is reasonably priced. Simple fan rooms with outside bathroom star at 250 pesos but the best bungalow with 2 double beds costs 800 pesos.

Mary's Beach Resort: A nippa hut with private swimming beach

A 'resort' with simple nippa hut cottages and a tiny restaurant.

It has its own private swimming beach

mary's cottages: best location in sabang

my most favourite resort in sabang. sadly, they charged 95p for a cup of garlic rice, a tad of corned feed and a piece of fried egg. it was awfully cooked in its blandest form. i could have gotten such breakfast for only 20p somewhere else. i'm so ripped off i felt.

the location being away from the heart of sabang compensates for the overpriced food. nonetheless, i still love mary's and recommend it to those who love peace and hate crowd. it's quite near to the jungle trail to the underground river if you wish to do the jungle trek. it has a creek nearby and a secluded beach to the right. if you have been to mary's before you would be surprised to see that they have relocated. still in the same vicinity but from sabang pier you can already see mary's unlike before when it was totally shut off from view.

Daluyon Beach & Mountain Resort: Resort Near Underground River

Daluyon Beach and Mountain Resort is located along Sabang Beach near Puerto Princesa's famous St. Paul Subterranean River National Park, one of the country's UNESCO World Heritage sites. We passed by their gate when we went to Taraw Resataurant. We didn't stay there (we stayed at another beach resort in Puerto Princesa City) but hubby's for officemates stayed there.

Daluyon Beach and Mountain Resort is a beautiful place has 16 wifi-ready beachfront rooms with Asian motif, each with a private veranda, LCD TV with satellite cable TV and DVD player, 24-hour generated power, air conditioning and solar-powered hot water.

I would recommend this place to honeymooners or those who want a quiet place by the sea.

Mary's Cottage Beach Resort & Restaurant: Comfortable Stay

The cottages were clean and the beds were comfortable. The straw hut style cottages are up on stilts to provide a cooling effect and keep the bugs out. Mary's does not have private electric generators, so they only provide power between 6pm ~ 10pm.

Like all places in Sabang, there is no hot water. The bathroom has a toilet, but you you must flush using eastern-style bucket. No sink, towels, toilet paper or mirrors are provided... just like camping.

Mary's offers attached bathrooms to your cottage. It is the closest accommodation in Sabang to the walking trails for the Jungle and Monkey trails.

Mary's is on the beach, so you have instant access to the ocean. Please note that there are some rocks on the right side (under the water) and the ocean's undertow will bring you into them. If you go swimming, keep to the left side of the beach.
